Deployment of renewable energy generation capacities and integration of their power production into existing power systems has become a global trend,with a common set of operational challenges stemming from variability and limited predictability of power generation from,e.g.,wind and *** is a country that invested early in wind energy,rapidly proposing very ambitious goals for the future of its energy system and global energy *** the case of Denmark is specific due to its limited size and good interconnections,there may still be a lot to learn from the way operational practice has evolved,also from shifting towards a liberalized electricity market environment,and more generally from going along with other technological and societal *** aim of this paper is to give an overview of recent and current initiatives in Denmark that contributes towards a goal of reaching a fully renewable energy system.

Peroxidase-like properties of Ruthenium nanoframes

This work reports the inherent peroxidase-like properties of Ruthenium （Ru） nanoframes. After templating with Palladium （Pd） seeds, Ru nanoframes with an octa- hedral shape, average edge length of 6.2 nm, and thickness of 1.8 nm were synthesized in high purity （〉95 %） and good uniformity. Using the oxidation of 3,3t,5,5＇-tetram- ethylbenzidine （TMB） by H202 as a model catalytic reac- tion, the Ru frames were demonstrated to be approximately three times more active than natural peroxidases in cat- alyzing the formation of colored products. As compared to their natural counterparts, Ru frames have a stronger binding affinity to TMB as well as a weaker binding affinity to hydrogen peroxide during the catalysis. The Ru frames as peroxidase mimics proved to be chemically and thermally stable. This work represents the first demonstration of Ru nanostructure-based peroxidase mimics and is therefore expected to inspire future research on bio-applications of Ru nanomaterials.

Cancer is a major health concern and leading burden on economy worldwide. An increasing effort is devoted to isolation and development of plant-derived dietary components as effective chemo-preventive products. Phytochemical compounds from natural resources such as fruits and vegetables are responsible for decreasing the risk of certain cancers among the consuming populations. Apigenin, a flavonoid phytochemical found in many kinds of fruits and vegetables, has been shown to exert significant biological effects, such as anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and most particularly anti-neoplastic properties. This review is intended to summarize the most recent advances in the anti-proliferative and chemo-preventive effects of apigenin in different cancer models. Analysis of the data from the studied cancer models has revealed that apigenin exerts its anti-proliferative effects through multiple and complex pathways. This guided us to discover some controversial results about the exact role of certain molecular pathways such as autophagy in the anticancer effects of apigenin. Further, there were cumulative positive evidences supporting the involvement of certain pathways such as apoptosis, ROs and DNA damage and repair. Apigenin possesses a high potential to be used as a chemosensitizing agent through the up-regulation of DR5 pathway. According to these preclinical findings we recommend that further robust unbiased studies should consider the possible interactions between different molecular pathways.

Comparing the structural Parameters of the Milky Way to Other spiral Galaxies

The structural parameters of a galaxy can be used to gain insight into its formation and evolution *** this paper,we strive to compare the Milky Way’s structural parameters to other,primarily edge-on,spiral galaxies in order to determine how our Galaxy measures up to the Local *** our comparison,we use the galaxy structural parameters gathered from a variety of literature sources in the optical and near-infrared wave *** compare the scale length,scale height,and disk flatness for both the thin and thick disks,the thick-to-thin disk mass ratio,the bulge-to-total luminosity ratio,and the mean pitch angle of the Milky Way’s spiral arms to those in other *** conclude that many of the Milky Way’s structural parameters are largely ordinary and typical of spiral galaxies in the Local Universe,though the Galaxy’s thick disk appears to be appreciably thinner and less extended than expected from zoom-in cosmological simulations of Milky Way-mass galaxies with a significant contribution of galaxy mergers involving satellite galaxies.

当今世界对可持续发展的关注促进了低水泥用量混凝土建筑工程的产生。增加混凝土中骨料体系的堆积密度是降低水泥用量的一个策略。增加骨料体系的堆积密度可以降低填充骨料颗粒间隙所需要的水泥浆体的量。研究了大堆积密度骨料配制的混凝土。这些混凝土比普通的结构混凝土低15%～25%的水泥用量,当骨料体系级配合理时混凝土工作性好。水泥浆体体积的降低在明显改进混凝土干缩与徐变性能的同时,也会对其工作性产生不利影响。骨料含量不会显著影响不同配比混凝土的抗压强度和劈裂强度。

NCCT for Micropolar solid and Fluid Media Based on Internal Rotations and Rotation Rates with Rotational Inertial Physics: Model Problem studies

This paper presents model problem studies for micropolar thermoviscoelastic solids without memory and micropolar thermoviscous fluid using micropolar non-classical continuum theories (NCCT) based on internal rotations and rotation rates in which rotational inertial physics is considered in the derivation of the conservation and balance laws (CBL). The dissipation mechanism is due to strain rates as well as rotation rates. Model problems are designed to demonstrate and illustrate various significant aspects of the micropolar NCCT with rotational inertial physics considered in this paper. In case of micropolar solids, the translational and rotational waves are shown to coexist. In the absence of microconstituents (classical continuum theory, CCT) the internal rotations are a free field, hence have no influence on CCT. Absence of gradients of displacements and strains in micropolar thermoviscous fluid medium prohibits existence of translational waves as well as rotational waves even though the appearance of the mathematical model is analogous to the solids, but in terms of strain rates. It is shown that in case of micropolar thermoviscous fluids the BAM behaves more like time dependent diffusion equation i.e., like heat conduction equation in Lagrangian description. The influence of rotational inertial physics is demonstrated using BLM as well as BAM in the model problem studies.
