Effects of plant-derived analgesic compounds sinomenine and salvinorin A in infant rats

Objective: Premature and ill neonates undergo painful but medically necessary procedures while hospitalized. Although opiate drugs are administered as analgesics, problems associated with their side effects,tolerance, and potential dependence necessitate research into alternative pain-relieving *** we test two plant-derived compounds in infant rats: sinomenine, which targets the Mas-related G-protein-coupled receptor member X2 opioid receptor;and salvinorin A, which is a j opioid receptor agonist. In adult animals both sinomenine and salvinorin A are analgesic, but neither has been tested in ***: We used the formalin and thermal plantar tests in rats 7 and 21 days of age(PN7 and PN21) for behavioral signs of pain. In addition, brain sections were stained using Fos immunohistochemistry to examine patterns of brain activation in the midbrain periaqueductal gray and the paraventricular nucleus of the ***: sinomenine was analgesic in both the formalin and thermal tests on animals 21 days of age. At PN7 only the highest dose elevated response latencies in the thermal test and there were no effects of sinomenine in the formalin test. Analysis of Fos expression in the sinomenine-treated animals showed no drug effect, in contrast to the behavioral results. salvinorin A was analgesic in the formalin test only at the highest dose at 21 days of age but not in the thermal test at either ***: The increased modest effectiveness of sinomenine in older animals and the minimum salvinorin A drug effect suggest that the compounds act on sites that develop during the preweaning period(sinomenine) or after weaning(salvinorin A).

In Korea, most resources for biodiesel production were imported from abroad. To find out domestic resources, the feasibility of biodiesel production from acid oil as a by-product of the refining of vegetable oils and from waste lard as a by-product of the leather making process with high content of free fatty acids（FFAs） was investigated. A process consisting of the esterification of FFAs by an acid catalyst followed by the transesterification of triglycerides by an alkali catalyst was examined. After a simple distillation process of biodiesel, the oxidation stability of acid oil biodiesel and waste lard biodiesel was 1.59 h and 1.83 h, respectively. The cold filter plugging point（CFPP） was-13. and 8., respectively. The oxidation stability of biodiesel was easily improved by antioxidants. However, the CFPP was not improved by additives. When waste lard biodiesel was blended with rapeseed oil biodiesel, the low temperature flow property of waste lard biodiesel was improved.

This study investigated the interactive effects of Hepatitis C virus on human cells using the contact angle approach. The methodology involves the use of sessile drop approach to determine the contact angle formed on the infected and uninfected blood cells in the presences of glycerin as the probe liquid. It was observed that the presence of the virus in the human blood cells depleted the immune system of infected cells giving rise to a decreased CD4 count on the average of 514.5 ± 243.10 when compared with the uninfected cells CD4 count of 1267.2 ± 368.27. The measurement of contact angle also unveils that among the blood components separated in the course of the experiment, the white blood cell is the principal target of the virus with the highest average contact angle of 63.4 ± 3.20 while the uninfected white blood cells have a lower contact angle of 48.5 ± 2.75. The result of the measured contact angle was used for MATLAB computation to determine the surface energy, force of adhesion and the Hamaker coefficient. Response surface methodology was also employed in this study to visualize the viral impact on the blood cells as well as generating model equations for prediction of the interaction between the virus and the blood cells. Infected surfaces on the average have higher values of Hamaker coefficient than uninfected surfaces. It was discovered that an increase in the contact angles causes a significant increase in Hamaker coefficient with a corresponding decrease in the CD4 counts on the infected surfaces. This increase is attributed to the presence of the HCV virus in the infected samples and the highest value was observed in the white blood cell component. Computation of the combined negative Hamaker coefficient revealed that there exists a possibility of separating the virus from the human lymphocyte, hence a negative value of the A132 of the infected sample was seen to be −0.150 × 10−18 mj/m2 (−0.150 × 10−25 j). A hydrogel is formed by the self-assembly of sodium deoxycholate (NaDC) in aqueous solution with sodium chloride at pH-7.0. The NaDC hydrogel made of the three-dimensional network of nanofibers shows pH-dependent swelling behaviors. Polystyrene particles with a diameter of 100 nm and doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX) can be easily loaded into the NaDC hydrogel through swelling. By using the loaded polystyrene particles as a light scattering probe, we study the microrheology of the NaDC hydrogel, showing complex viscoelastic properties. The viscous component dominates at both low and high frequencies, while the elastic component dominates in the intermediate range. The cavity size of the nanofiber network can also be estimated to be ~180 nm. We show that the loaded DOX can be slowly released from the hydrogels into aqueous solution. The release profile of DOX is found to depend on the pH value of the solution.

近几年来,高导电碳丝的生产取得了重要近展。用各种各样的原材料,如人造丝、聚丙烯腈（PAN）、沥青,中间相沥青和苯等所制成的石墨化碳纤维,其导电率常在10～6—10～7（Ωm）-1之间,抗拉强度1—3GPa,杨氏模量100—700GPa,密度1.8—2.2×10～3Kg/m3。这些性质表明,石墨碳纤维有可能作为载流体而用于电力输送。本文从纤维的电气及机械性能的角度考察它的物理机理,并对它的应用前景,即对那些具有良好导电性而机械性能不致衰减的石墨化碳纤维的应用作出评价。人们发现,化学掺杂（层间）会使高度石墨化的碳纤维在抗拉强度稍有降低的情况下,其导电率有可能增加5—15倍。它们在电力传输中的应用是多种多样的,比如,地下和架空导线,管状电缆的管子,架空高塔,以及海低电缆。最近则最有可能用在高塔和海低电缆中,因为石墨化纤维高比强度的优点可以抵消它在导电性上的不足,可与铝线或铜线相媲美。

The surface heterogeneity of two samples of montmorillonite clays from Katiola (C?te d’Ivoire), referenced K1 and K2, has been explored by low-pressure of argon and nitrogen adsorption at 77 K. The adsorption isotherms of the studied samples have been modelled by the Derivative Isotherms summation method (DIs method) in a satisfactory manner, with the help of local isotherms to argon and nitrogen. The use of the DIs method allowed us to quantify the basal and lateral surfaces, then to determine the total surface of studied materials. Beyond the quantitative aspect, the DIs method permitted us to determine the lamellarity index of the clay grains and to describe the two studied samples of a family of high energy site (–14 kT to nitrogen), that shows a strong affinity for the polar adsorbates.

In the present study,an analysis of the heat and mass transfer in a ventilated cavity in a warm climate zone was carried out to analyze,among others,the temperatures and percentage of relative humidity(RH).The governing equations of the mathematical model were solved through the finite volume *** used the k-εturbulence mode to find the results of the variables of interest in seven climate records on a given *** velocity of the inlet flow of the air-H2O mixture was varied through the Reynolds number(Re)from 500 to *** outdoor weather conditions considered were solar radiation,ambient temperature,and *** was found that at low velocities,flow recirculation was formed inside the cavity which increased the temperature and concentration of *** Re=5000 the flow is predominantly forced,which tends to set the values of temperature and RH as 20°C and 20%*** values of the RH increase in the afternoon hours when the solar radiation decreases to the value of ***,the mass transfer through the values of sh is maintained with similar values in the seven weather *** was concluded that when air conditioning supplies air at speeds higher than 0.26 m/s at low temperatures it produces cooling with low RH,this causes discomfort,illness and/or discomfort to the users.
