In this study,FeNi nanoparticles were green synthesized using Punica granatum(pomegranate)peel extract,and these nanoparticles were also formed in situ over quartz sand(Gs-FeNi)for removal of tetracycline(TC).Under the optimized operating conditions,(Gs-FeNi concentration:1.5%w/v;concentration of TC:20 mg/L;interaction period:180 min),99±0.2%TC removal was achieved in the batch reactor The removaT capacity was 181±1 mg/g.A detailed characterization of the sorbent and the solution before and after the interaction revealed that the removal mechanism(s)involved both the sorption and degradation of *** reusability of reactant was assessed for four cycles of operation,and 77±4%of TC removal was obtained in the *** judge the environmental sustainability of the process,residual toxicity assay of the interacted TC solution was performed with indicator bacteria(Bacillus and Pseudomonas)and algae(Chlorella sp.),which confirmed a substantial decrease in the *** continuous column studies were undertaken in the packed bed reactors using *** the optimized conditions,quite high removal efficiency(978±5 mg/g)was obtained in the *** application of Gs-FeNi for antibiotic removal was further evaluated in lake water,tap water,and ground water spiked with TC,and the removal capacity achieved was found to be 781±5,712±5,and 687±3 mg/g,*** work can pave the way for treatment of antibiotics and other pollutants in the reactors using novel green composites prepared from fruit wastes.

Vagus nerve stimulation(VNs)and stroke:stroke is the second leading cause of death and the third leading cause of disability worldwide(Baig et al.,2023).There have been significant paradigm shifts in the management of acute ischemic stroke through mechanical *** chronic ischemic stroke,invasive VNs paired with rehabilitation is associated with a significant increase in upper limb motor recovery and is FDA-approved(Baig et al.,2023).There are no treatments of similar efficacy in acute intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH)where several promising trials,e.g.,TICH-2,sTOP-AUsT,and TRAIGE did not show improvements in functional outcomes(Puy et al.,2023).

Optimization studies of plasma smelting of red mud were carried out. Reduction of the dried red mud fines was done in an extended arc plasma reactor to recover the pig iron. Lime grit and low ash metallurgical （LAM） coke were used as the flux and reductant, respectively. 2level factorial design was used to study the influence of all parameters on the responses. Response surface modeling was done with the data obtained from statistically designed experiments. Metal recovery at optimum parameters was found to be 79.52%.

A 20-year-old boy presenting daily febrile episodes was suspected to have developed acute hepatic failure. serologic tests ruled out infectious and autoimmune causes apart from drug toxicity. During clinical examinations, he was found to have generalized enlarged lymph nodes that were then taken biopsy. It was diagnosed as classical Hodgkin＇s lymphoma based on histological examination of the lymph node. A bone marrow biopsy showed marrow infiltration by Hodgkin＇s lymphoma with hemophagocytosis and secondary myelofibrosis. A percutaneous liver biopsy demonstrated hepatic involvement of the same disease. After an extensive work-up, the cause of liver failure was figure out to be only attributed to the involvement of the lymphoma. Hodgkin＇s lymphoma as a cause of hepatic failure is rare and young patients diagnosed as Hodgkin＇s lymphoma causing hepatic failure has been reported very rarely so far.

Environmental arsenic(As) contamination,considered as the largest mass poisoning of the human population,has become a serious health concern for the people of south East Asia,including those living in the Bengal *** As-resistant strain,KUMAs15,was isolated from the As-contaminated fields in Nadia Ddistrict in West Bengal,India and was evaluated for its possible use in environmental As *** identification based on 16s rDNA gene sequencing revealed that the strain belonged to the genus *** strain tolerated high levels of As and oxidized arsenite under the culture *** strain also accumulated large quantities of As when exposed to a wide range of environmentally relevant concentrations of inorganic *** of the aoxB,arsB,and arsC gene expression explained the underlying cause of arsenite oxidation and As accumulation by *** As-resistant strain KUMAs15 of Micrococcus *** suggested to be a potential environmental As decontaminant.
