cerebrovascular disease of genetic origin characterized by abnormally dilated capillaries and a wide spectrum of symptoms,including headaches,seizures,neurological deficits,and intracerebral *** unpredictable clinical course and the current lack of therapies make the identification of prognostic and predictive biomarkers an imperative research challenge.1 Herein,we provide evidence that galectin-3(Gal-3),a major tissue and circulating biomarker of oxidative stress and inflammation,is significantly up-regulated both in CCM patients and ***,wholetranscriptome sequencing,qRT-PCR,and Western blotting studies demonstrated a significant up-regulation of Gal-3 expression levels both in surgical CCM specimens and in blood samples of CCM patients.

Transcultural adaptation of Odia version of health-related kidney disease and quality of life-36 instrument

Objective:The study objective was to translate,validate,and test the reliability of the original kidney disease and quality of life-36(KDQOL-36^(TM))instruments in *** and Methods:A cross-sectional design with a purposive sampling technique was *** to RAND Corporation guidelines,initially,the items of the KDQOL-36^(TM)questionnaires were translated into Odia by two independent,bilingual,professional translators,and then back-translated to English,followed by tryout and field *** experts validated the KDQOL-36^(TM)instrument review committee for review related to kidney health *** tool was implemented among 180 patients undergoing“maintenance”*** following tests evaluated reliability and validity:test-retest reliability with Cronbach’s alpha correlation(stability),(reliability)internal consistency,and contents validity ***:The Cronbach’s alpha value and intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC)score of all five domains,namely“physical component summary,mental component summary(MCs),the burden of kidney disease,symptoms and problems of kidney disease,and effects of kidney disease”of both KDQOL-36^(TM)English and Odia(KDQOL-36-E^(TM)and KDQOL-36-O^(TM))version,recommended excellent homogeneity.A high positive correlation(r=0.998)was found between the Odia version of KDQOL-36^(TM)and the English version KDQOL-36^(TM)*** ICC score ranges from 0.889 to 0.997 at a 95%confidence interval for test-retest reliability,and Cronbach’s alpha was ***:This study explores the Odia version of KDQOL-36^(TM)psychometric properties,depicted at an acceptable level of internal *** KDQOL-36-O^(TM)instrument is a valid and reliable tool for assessing the kidney disease-related quality of life in Odia-speaking hemodialysis patients.

The present research work attempted to delineate and characterize the reservoir facies from the Dawson Canyon Formation in the Penobscot field,scotian *** integrated study of instantaneous frequency,P-impedance,volume of clay and neutron-porosity attributes,and structural framework was done to unravel the Late Cretaceous depositional system and reservoir facies distribution patterns within the study *** strikes were found in the EW and NEE-sWW directions indicating the dominant course of tectonic activities during the Late Cretaceous period in the region.P-impedance was estimated using model-based seismic *** properties such as the neutron porosity(NPHI)and volume of clay(VCL)were estimated using the multilayer perceptron neural network with high ***,a combination of low instantaneous frequency(15-30 Hz),moderate to high impedance(7000-9500 gm/cc*m/s),low neutron porosity(27%-40%)and low volume of clay(40%-60%),suggests fair-to-good sandstone development in the Dawson Canyon *** calibration with the welllog data,it is found that further lowering in these attribute responses signifies the clean sandstone facies possibly containing *** present study suggests that the shale lithofacies dominates the Late Cretaceous deposition(Dawson Canyon Formation)in the Penobscot field,scotian *** faults and overlying shale facies provide structural and stratigraphic seals and act as a suitable hydrocarbon entrapment mechanism in the Dawson Canyon Formation's *** present research advocates the integrated analysis of multi-attributes estimated using different methods to minimize the risk involved in hydrocarbon exploration.

Dietary supplementation of zinc oxide modulates intestinal functionality during the post-weaning period in clinically healthy piglets

Effects of early postnatal gastric and colonic microbiota transplantation on piglet gut health

Aqueous electrochromic battery(ECB)has shown intense potential for achieving energy storage and saving *** tungsten oxide(WO_(3))is the most promising EC material for commercialization,the cycling stability of WO_(3)-based aqueous ECBs is currently unsatisfactory due to the repeated phase transition during the redox process and the corrosion by acidic ***,we present a titanium-tungsten oxide alloy(Ti-WO_(3))with controllable morphology and crystal phase synthesized by a facile hot injection method to overcome the *** contrast to conventional monoclinic WO_(3),the Ti-WO_(3)nanorods can stably maintain their cubic crystal phase during the redox reaction in an acidic electrolyte,thus leading to dramatically enhanced response speed and cycling stability,specifically,when working in a well-matched hybrid Al^(3+)/Zn^(2+)aqueous electrolyte,our phasetransition-free cubic Ti-WO_(3)exhibits an ultra-high cycling stability(>20000 cycles),fast response speed(3,95 s/4,65 s for bleaching/coloring),as well as excellent discharge areal capacity of 214.5 mA h m^(-2),We further fabricate a fully complementa ry aqueous electrochromic device,for the first time,using a Ti-WO_(3)/Prussian blue device ***,the complementary ECB shows>10000 stable operation cycles,attesting to the feasibility of our Ti-WO_(3)for practical *** work validates the significance of inhibiting the phase transitions of WO_(3)during the electrochromic process for realizing highly cyclable aqueous ECB,which can possibly provide a generalized design guidance for other high-quality metallic oxides for electrochemical applications.

The human gastrointestinal tract is populated with a diverse microbial *** vast genetic and metabolic potential of the gut microbiome underpins its ubiquity in nearly every aspect of human biology,including health maintenance,development,aging,and *** advent of new sequencing technologies and culture-independent methods has allowed researchers to move beyond correlative studies toward mechanistic explorations to shed light on microbiome–host *** has unveiled the bidirectional communication between the gut microbiome and the central nervous system,referred to as the“microbiota–gut–brain axis”.The microbiota–gut–brain axis represents an important regulator of glial functions,making it an actionable target to ameliorate the development and progression of neurodegenerative *** this review,we discuss the mechanisms of the microbiota–gut–brain axis in neurodegenerative *** the gut microbiome provides essential cues to microglia,astrocytes,and oligodendrocytes,we examine the communications between gut microbiota and these glial cells during healthy states and neurodegenerative ***,we discuss the mechanisms of the microbiota–gut–brain axis in neurodegenerative diseases using a metabolite-centric approach,while also examining the role of gut microbiota-related neurotransmitters and gut ***,we examine the potential of targeting the intestinal barrier,blood–brain barrier,meninges,and peripheral immune system to counteract glial dysfunction in ***,we conclude by assessing the pre-clinical and clinical evidence of probiotics,prebiotics,and fecal microbiota transplantation in neurodegenerative diseases.A thorough comprehension of the microbiota–gut–brain axis will foster the development of effective therapeutic interventions for the management of neurodegenerative diseases.

藏文传记是藏族传统文学、史学和宗教学的重要文类,是中华民族优秀传统文化和中华古籍文献的重要组成部分。20世纪60年代,随着传记学研究的兴起,藏文传记逐渐成为国外藏学研究的一个专题领域。自20世纪90年代以来,随着研究的进一步深入,藏文传记研究的交叉视野和创新成果为藏学发展注入了新鲜活力,成为国外藏学研究中引人注目的研究领域。文章通过梳理近30年来国外研究藏文传记的主要英文成果,基于传记类型和研究内容,初步将相关成果分为四大研究主题,详细介绍了每个专题领域代表性成果的主要内容、理论方法和研究视角,剖析了主流的学科框架、命题概念和研究进路,并结合新近研究呈现的学术转向和多样化研究实践,从理论视野和学术路径两个宏观层面总结了国外藏文传记研究的发展演变和主要特征,对国外藏文传记研究的现状、趋势和存在问题进行了初步的反思和总结。
