In recent years,mental practice(MP)using laterally inverted video of a subject’s non-paralyzed upper limb to improve the vividness of presented motor imagery(MI)has been shown to be effective for improving the function of a paralyzed upper ***,no studies have yet assessed the activity of cortical regions engaged during MI task performance using inverse video presentations and neurophysiological *** study sought to investigate changes in MI vividness and hemodynamic changes in the cerebral cortex during MI performance under the following three conditions in near-infrared spectroscopy:MI-only without inverse video presentation(MI-only),MI with action observation(AO)of an inverse video presentation of another person’s hand(AO+MI(other hand)),and MI with AO of an inverse video presentation of a participant’s own hand(AO+MI(own hand)).Participants included 66 healthy right-handed adults(41 men and 25 women;mean age:26.3±4.3 years).There were 23 patients in the MI-only group(mean age:26.4±4.1 years),20 in the AO+MI(other hand)group(mean age:25.9±5.0 years),and 23 in the AO+MI(own hand)group(mean age:26.9±4.1 years).The MI task involved transferring 1 cm×1 cm blocks from one plate to another,once per second,using chopsticks held in the non-dominant *** on a visual analog scale(VAs),MI vividness was significantly higher in the AO+MI(own hand)group than in the MI-only group and the AO+MI(other hand)group.A main effect of condition was revealed in terms of MI vividness,as well as regions of interest(ROIs)in certain brain areas associated with motor *** data suggest that inverse video presentation of a person’s own hand enhances the MI vividness and increases the activity of motor-related cortical areas during *** study was approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee of Nagasaki University Graduate school of Biomedical and Health sciences(approval No.18121303)on January 18,2019.

Technological advancements are strongly required to fulfill the demands of new accelerator devices with the highest accelerating gradients and operation reliability for the future colliders. To this purpose an extensive R^zD regarding molybdenum coatings on copper is in progress. In this contribution we describe chemical composition, deposition quality and resistivity properties of different molybdenum coatings obtained via sputtering. The deposited films are thick metallic disorder layers with different resistivity values above and below the molibdenum dioxide reference value. Chemical and electrical properties of these sputtered coatings have been characterized by Rutherford backscattering, XANEs and photoemission spectroscopy. We will also consider multiple cells standing wave section coated by a molybdenum layer designed to improve the performance of X-Band accelerating systems.

short copper standing wave （sW） structures operating at an X-band frequency have been recently designed and manufactured at the Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare （INFN） using the vacuum brazing technique. High power tests of the structures have been performed at the sLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. In this manuscript we report the results of these tests and the activity in progress to enhance the high gradient performance of the next generation of structures, particularly the technological characterization of high performance coatings obtained via molybdenum sputtering.

AIM To investigate the therapeutic effect of combined integrin α6β4-targeted radioimmunotherapy(RIT) and PI3 K/m TOR inhibitor BEZ235 in a pancreatic cancer *** Phosphorylation of Akt, m TOR, the downstream effectors eukaryotic initiation factor 4 E binding protein 1(4 EBP1) and s6 ribosomal protein(s6) were evaluated in Bx PC-3 human pancreatic cancer cells treated with Yttrium-^(90)(^(90) Y) labeled anti-integrin α6β4 antibody(ITGA6 B4) and BEZ235 by western blotting. The cytotoxic effect of BEZ235 was investigated using a colony formation assay. Therapeutic efficacy enhancement by oral BEZ235 administration was assessed using mice bearing Bx PC-3 xenograft tumors. Tumor volume measurements and immunohistochemical analyses(cell proliferation marker Ki-67, DNA damage marker p-H2 AX and p-4 EBP1 staining) of tumors were performed for evaluation of combined treatment with ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 plus BEZ235, or each arm *** We found that phosphorylation of Akt(p-Akt), 4 EBP1(p-4 EBP1) and s6(p-s6) was inhibited by BEZ235. Colony formation in Bx PC-3 cells was additively suppressed by the combination of ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 and BEZ235. Pretreatment with BEZ235 before ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 exposure resulted in significant reduction of cells plating efficiency(PE)(0.54 ± 0.11 vs 2.81 ± 0.14 with 185 k Bq/m L ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 exposure, P s 1.88 ± 0.09 with 370 k Bq/m L ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 exposure, P s per dish were plated. The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of specially designed zori, a Japanese-style sandal, for enhancing walking performance. A total of 89 women aged 59-75 were randomly assigned to either the intervention or control group. The intervention group wore the zori for 6 months while the control group did not. We conducted physical assessments, including The Good Walker’s Index, which consisted of a 10-m walking time measurement, maximal step length, the 40/20-cm step test and tandem gait, and measurement of the toe-gap force (TGF). Additionally, bare foot plantar pressure distribution was measured using a foot-mapping sensor, while gait characteristics were measured using three dimensional sensors. In the intervention group, means for TGF improved significantly between baseline and three months and between baseline and six months, but this improvement was not evident in the control group. In the intervention group, the means for pressure and surface areas of both left and right feet significantly decreased over time compared with the control group. Three-dimensional analysis found that left and right ankle height was enhanced in the intervention group, and their walking speed was improved by the extension of their stride length and an increase in the height of the tiptoe in one cycle. The findings in our study indicate that zori can be useful in improving lower leg function through TGF enhancement and adjustment of the pressure pattern.

For the purpose of improving the defects of the conventional friction welding method, the new friction welding technology has been examined. That is, the aim of the study is producing the joint of dissimilar materials evaluated to be difficult for friction welding and non-round shape joints. In this process, after the intermediate material generates the independent friction heat on every side of the specimens, it is removed instantaneously and upset process begins to weld the specimens for a joint. In this study, similar joint of A2017 aluminum alloy and one of s45C steel were examined. On the other hand, thermal elastic-plastic stress analysis by the finite element method was carried out using ANsYs mechanical.

“Ease of comfort” and “functionality” are important factors that have been cited to improve wheelchair seating. The ability to maintain balance and posture while seated in a wheelchair improves stability, comfort, and functionality and is a prerequisite for daily activities. In this study, the authors used a sitting position measuring device to scientifically verify differences in sitting posture, comfort, and functionality depending on the presence or absence of cushions and the type of cushion in elderly individuals who used wheelchairs. Results suggested that a cushion fabricated by a therapist was more useful than a commercially available air cushion. While a commercially available air cushion was the most suitable, the therapist’s self-made cushion could be expected to demonstrate the same or better applicability than an air cushion.
