This paper systematically introduces and reviews a scientific exploration of reliability called the belief *** with the origin of reliability engineering,the problems of present theories for reliability engineering are summarized as a query,a dilemma,and a ***,through philosophical reflection,we introduce the theoretical solutions given by belief reliability theory,including scientific principles,basic equations,reliability science experiments,and mathematical *** basic methods and technologies of belief reliability,namely,belief reliability analysis,function-oriented belief reliability design,belief reliability evaluation,and several newly developed methods and technologies are sequentially elaborated and *** on the above investigations,we summarize the significance of belief reliability theory and make some prospects about future research,aiming to promote the development of reliability science and engineering.

The roughness of the contact surface exerts a vital role in *** is still a significant challenge to understand the microscopic contact of the rough surface at the atomic ***,the rough surface with a special root mean square(RMs)value is constructed by multivariate Weierstrass–Mandelbrot(W–M)function and the rubbing process during that the chemical mechanical polishing(CMP)process of diamond is mimicked utilizing the reactive force field molecular dynamics(ReaxFF MD)*** is found that the contact area A/A0 is positively related with the load,and the friction force F depends on the number of interfacial bridge *** the surface roughness will increase the friction force and friction *** model with low roughness and high lubrication has less friction force,and the presence of polishing liquid molecules can decrease the friction force and friction *** RMs value and the degree of damage show a functional relationship with the applied load and lubrication,i.e.,the RMs value decreases more under larger load and higher lubrication,and the diamond substrate occurs severer damage under larger load and lower *** work will generate fresh insight into the understanding of the microscopic contact of the rough surface at the atomic level.

The nonproportional multiaxial ratchetting of cast AZ91 magnesium (Mg) alloy was examined by performing a sequence of axial-torsional cyclic tests controlled by stress with various loading paths at room temperature (RT).The evolutionary characteristics and path dependence of multiaxial ratchetting were *** illustrate that the cast AZ91 Mg alloy exhibits considerable nonproportional additional softening during cyclic loading with multiple nonproportional multiaxial loading paths;multiaxial ratchetting presents strong path dependence,and axial ratchetting strains are larger under nonproportional loading paths than under uniaxial and proportional45°linear loading paths;multiaxial ratchetting becomes increasingly pronounced as the applied stress amplitude and axial mean stress ***,stress-strain curves show a convex and symmetrical shape in axial/torsional *** ratchetting exhibits quasi-shakedown after certain loading *** abundant experimental data obtained in this work can be used to develop a cyclic plasticity model of cast Mg alloys.

The deviation in wall thickness caused by core shift during the investment casting process significantly impacts the strength and service life of hollow turbine *** address this issue,a core shift limitation method is developed in this ***,a shift model is established based on computational fluid dynamics and motion simulation to predict the movement of the ceramic core in investment casting ***,utilizing this model,an optimization method for fixturing layout inside the refractory ceramic shell is devised for the ceramic *** casting experiment demonstrates that by utilizing the optimized fixture layout,not only can core shift during the investment casting pouring process be effectively controlled,but also the maximum wall thickness error of the blade can be reduced by 42.02%.In addition,the core shift prediction is also validated,with a prediction error of less than 26.9%.

Enhancement and Removal of PM_(2.5)by Cold and Warm Air Masses Accompanying Certain synoptic Weather systems across Hangzhou,China during 2014-2020

Local air pollution is strongly affected by synoptic weather systems,such as fronts,troughs,low-altitude vortices,or high-altitude ***,few studies have analyzed the meteorological properties of cold or warm air masses associated to these systems and their impact on local air *** this study,hourly observations of fine particulate matter(diameter of up to 2.5µm,i.e.,PM_(2.5)),wind(V),temperature(T),pressure(P),and precipitation(R),acquired in Hangzhou in 2014-2020,were *** this analysis,weather patterns were categorized into 27 types;89 and 94 cases illustrating the passage of warm and cold air masses over Hangzhou were identified,respectively;the influence of air mass temperature,wind speed,and wind direction on PM_(2.5) concentrations and local accumulation or removal was *** main results are as follows.(1)Pollution events occurred more frequently for cold than for warm air masses,but average pollutant concentration was lower for cold air masses;(2)48%of the cold air mass cases corresponded to PM_(2.5) decreases and 52%to PM_(2.5) increases,with strong cold air masses(ΔT_(24h)>4°C;∣V∣_(average)>4 m s^(−1))markedly reducing local pollution,but weak cold air masses(ΔT24hges^(−1))primarily inducing pollutant transport and accumulation;(3)for warm air masses,PM_(2.5)accumulation or removal occurred in 60%and 40%of the cases,respectively:warm air masses(ΔT24h>4°C)reduced the PM_(2.5) concentration whereas weaker winds(∣V∣_(average)s^(−1))increased it;and(4)PM_(2.5) concentration decreased sharply within 4 h after the passage of strong cold air masses,but more gradually within 14 h after the passage of strong warm air *** results considerably improve the current understanding of the influence of cold and warm air masses on local pollution patterns.

One of the goals of grazing management in the desert steppe is to improve its ***,relatively little is known about soil microbe communities in the desert steppe ecosystem under grazing *** this study,we investigated the diversity and aboveground biomass of Caragana korshinskii *** communities in long-term fencing and grazing areas,combined with an analysis of soil physical-chemical properties and genomics,with the aim of understanding how fence management affects plant-soil-microbial inter-relationships in the desert steppe,*** results showed that fence management(exclosure)increased plant diversity and aboveground biomass in *** shrub area and effectively enhanced soil organic carbon(233.94%),available nitrogen(87.77%),and available phosphorus(53.67%)*** well,the shannon indices of soil bacteria and fungi were greater in the fenced ***-soil changes profoundly affected the alpha-and beta-diversity of soil *** management also altered the soil microbial community structure,significantly increasing the relative abundances of Acidobacteriota(5.31%-8.99%),Chloroflexi(3.99%-5.58%),and glomeromycota(1.37%-3.28%).The soil bacterial-fungal co-occurrence networks under fence management had higher complexity and *** on functional predictions,fence management significantly increased the relative abundance of bacteria with nitrification and nitrate reduction functions and decreased the relative abundance of bacteria with nitrate and nitrite respiration *** relative abundances of ecologically functional fungi with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi,ectomycorrhizal fungi,and saprotrophs also significantly increased under fence *** addition,the differential functional groups of bacteria and fungi were closely related to plant-soil *** results of this study have significant positive implications for the ecological restoration and reconstruction of dry desert steppe and simila

Advancements in sensor technology have significantly enhanced atmospheric ***,metal oxide and carbon(MO_(x)/C)hybrids have gained attention for their exceptional sensitivity and room-temperature sensing ***,previous methods of synthesizing MO_(x)/C composites suffer from problems,including inhomogeneity,aggregation,and challenges in ***,we introduce a refined method that employs a metal–organic framework(MOF)as a precursor combined with direct laser *** inherent structure of MOFs ensures a uniform distribution of metal ions and organic linkers,yielding homogeneous MO_(x)/C *** laser processing facilitates precise micropatterning(graphy)of the MO_(x)/C *** optimized MOF-derived MO_(x)/C sensor rapidly detected ethanol gas even at room temperature(105 and 18 s for response and recovery,respectively),with a broad range of sensing performance from 170 to 3,400 ppm and a high response value of up to 3,500%.Additionally,this sensor exhibited enhanced stability and thermal resilience compared to previous MOF-based *** research opens up promising avenues for practical applications in MOF-derived sensing devices.

The exploitation of shale gas is promising due to depletion of the conventional energy and intensification of the greenhouse *** this paper,we proposed a heat-fluid-solid coupling damage model of supercritical CO_(2)(sC-CO_(2))compound fracturing which is expected to be an efficient and environmentally friendly way to develop shale *** coupling model is solved by the finite element method,and the results are in good agreement with the analytical solutions and fracturing *** on this model,the fracture propagation characteristics at the two stages of compound fracturing are studied and the influence of pressurization rate,in situ stress,bedding angle,and other factors are *** results show that at the sC-CO_(2)fracturing stage,a lower pressurization rate is conducive to formation of the branches around main fractures,while a higher pressurization rate inhibits formation of the branches around main fractures and promotes formation of the main *** bedding and in situ stress play a dominant role in the fracture *** the in situ stress ratio(sx/sy)is 1,the presence of bedding can reduce the initiation pressure and failure ***,it will cause the fracture to propagate along the bedding direction,reducing the fracture *** rocks without bedding,hydraulic fracturing has the lengthening and widening effects for sC-CO_(2)induced *** shale,fractures induced at the hydraulic fracturing stage are more likely to be dominated by in situ stresses and have a shorter reorientation ***,fracture branches propagating along the maximum principal stress direction may be generated around the main fractures induced by sC-CO_(2)at the hydraulic fracturing *** the branches converge with the main fractures,fracture zones are easily formed,and thus the fracture complexity and damage area can be significantly *** results are instructive for the design and application of sC-CO_(2
