Cyclotriphosphazene Fibre Reinforced Poly(benzoxazine-co-ε-caprolactam) Nanocomposites for Flame Retardant Applications

Cyclophosphazene nanotube （PZT） incorporated poly（benzoxazine-co-g-caprolactam）（P（BZ-co-CPL）） nano- composites were developed for improving flame retardant properties. The effects of PZT on the flammability properties of P（BZ-co-CPL） matrix were evaluated through UL-94 flammability test and limiting oxygen index （LOI）. The UL-94 results of P（BZ-co-CPL）/PZT hybrid nanocomposites showed V-1 rating, whereas neat P（BZ-co-CPL） showed burning rating. The LOI values are increased from 25.4 to 31.4 for 1.5 wt% PZT incorporated P（BZ-co-CPL） nanocomposite systems. sEM was used to study the char morphology of P（BZ-co-CPL）/PZT after being exposed to UL-94 flammability test. Data from thermal studies indicate that the PZT incorporated P（BZ-co-CPL） systems possess better Tg and thermal degradation behavior when compared to the neat P（BZ-co-CPL）. The values of dielectric constant are decreased with increasing temperature. From the values, it is ascertained that the P（BZ-co-CPL）/PZT systems exhibit stable dielectric behavior with regard to variation in temperature. The TEM images ascertain the uniform dispersion of PZT in the P（BZ-co-CPL） matrix.

Under the effects of electric field and chemical reaction, the problem of dispersion of aerosols in a poorly conducting fluid in a channel is solved analytically using the mixture theory together with a regular perturbation technique. It is shown that the aerosols are dispersed relative to a plane moving with the mean speed of atmospheric fluid as well as the mean speed of agglomeration of aerosol with a relative diffusion coefficient, called the Taylor dispersion coefficient. This coefficient is numerically computed and the results reveal that it increases with an increase in the electric number, but decreases with increasing porous parameter. The physical explanations for the phenomena are given in this article.

Influence of volume percentage of NanoTiB2 particles on tribological&mechanical behaviour of 6061-T6 Al alloy nano-surface composite layer prepared via friction stir process

The aim of present study is to analyze the influence of volume percentage(vol.%) of nano-sized particles(TiB_2: average size is 35 nm) on microstructure, mechanical and tribological behavior of 6061-T6 Al alloy surface nano composite prepared via Friction stir process(FsP). The microstructure of the fabricated surface nanocomposites is examined using optical microscopy(OM) and scanning electron microscope(sEM) for distribution of TiB_2 nano reinforcement particles, thickness of nano composite layer formed on the Aluminum alloy substrate and fracture features. The depth of surface nano composite layer is measured as 3683.82 m m along the cross section of stir zone of nano composite perpendicular to FsP. It was observed that increase in volume percentage of TiB_2 particles, the microhardness is increased up to132 Hv and it is greater than as-received Al alloy's microhardness(104 Hv). It is also observed that at 4volume percentage higher tensile properties exhibited as compared with the 2 and 8 vol. %. It is found that high wear resistance exhibited at 4 volume percentage as-compared with the 2 and 8 vol. %. The observed wear and mechanical properties are interrelated with microstructure, fractography and worn morphology.

In normal physiological conditions,reactive oxygen and nitrogen species are used as important signaling molecules in the ***,in excess it causes the disruption of cell resulting in their *** stress causes influx in intracellular calcium levels leading to higher concentrations of calcium in the *** accelerated calcium affects both the mitochondria and nuclei leading to excitotoxicity in *** calcium levels are controlled by voltage dependent calcium channels located in the plasma membrane,calcium stores like endoplasmic/sarcoplasmic reticulum and majorly by calcium binding *** study was aimed at analyzing the gene expression of major calcium binding proteins namely calcineurin,calmodulin,calreticulin,synaptotagamin and calsyntenin in stress induced PC 12 ***(1 mM),Peroxynitrite(10 mM),H_(2)O_(2)(100 mM)and High glucose(33 mM)were used to induce oxidative stress in PC12 *** obtained from the study suggest that calcineurin,calmodulin and calsyntenin gene expression were enhanced compared to the control due to oxidative ***,synaptotagmin and calreticulin gene expression were down ***,Akt protein expression(stress marker)was enhanced in PC12 cells with all other stress inducers except in hyperglycemic condition.

Antimicrobial properties of endophytic actinomycetes isolated from Combretum latifolium Blume, a medicinal shrub from Western Ghats of India

Endophytic actinomycetes were isolated from Combretum latifolium Blume （Combretaceae）, Western Ghats of southern India and identified by its characteristic culture morphology and molecular analysis of 16s rRNA gene sequences. In this survey of endophytic actinomycetes, a total of 117 isolates representing 9 different genera of endophytie actinomycetes were obtained using four different isolation media and several of them seemed to be novel taxa. streptomyces genera （35%） was the most frequently isolated strains, followed by Nocordiopsis （17%） and Micromonospora （13%）. IsP-4 medium recovered more isolates （47%） when compared to rest of the media used. Preliminary antibacterial activity of the isolates was carried out by confrontation test. Ethyl acetate fraction of selected isolates in disc diffusion assay exhibited broad spectrum antimicrobial activity against test human pathogens. All streptomyces spp. strains displayed significant antimicrobial activity against test pathogens. strain CLA-66 and CLA-68 which are Nocordipsis spp. inhibited both bacterial and fungal pathogens where as other isolates inhibited atleast three test human pathogens in disc diffusion assay. Antimicrobial screening of endophytic actinomycetes from this host may represent a unique potential niche for antimierobial compounds of industrial and pharmaceutical applications. This work is the first comprehensive report on incidence of potential endophytic actinomycetes inhabiting C. latifolium Blnme.

Activator protein-1(AP-1)transcription factor is a key component of many signal transduction pathways involved in the regulation of cellular processes and controls rapid responses of mammalian cells when exposed to the variety of *** phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate and Forskolin(Fo)are well-known kinase activators/stimulators of Protein Kinase C(PKC)and Protein Kinase A(PKA)***,these kinases are found to be present in transitional points of many cell signaling pathways,especially those involved in *** stimulating effect of PKC and PKA on the expression of AP-1 factors in MCF-7 breast cell proliferation is not well ***,the role of PKC by PMA treatment and the role of PKA by using Fo in MCF-7 cells is ***,cells treated with PMA showed increased cell proliferation,while Fo had no effect,but inhibited the PMA induced *** RT-PCR results showed the PMA induced c-Jun,c-Fos and Fra-1 expressions compared to control and ***,Fo in combination with PMA,inhibit the PMA induced above mRNA expressions where Fo alone has no *** blot studies validated the c-Jun expressions in PMA treated MCF-7 ***,PMA increases the mRNA expression of Cyclin-E1,Cyclin-D1,and CDK-4,whereas Fo decreases their ***,mitogenic effect of PMA and inhibitory action of Fo on MCF-7 cells is probably enhanced via activation of AP-1 factors and concomitant action of cell cycle regulators in the downstream singling cascade.
