Three-dimensional crystal plasticity and HR-EBsd analysis of the local stress-strain fields induced during twin propagation and thickening in magnesium alloys

Present work focuses on analysis of the stress and strain fields inside and around the individual {10–12} twin in magnesium alloy. The 3d crystal plasticity model represents twin as an ellipsoidal inclusion surrounded by the matrix. Five different twin thicknesses and three different lateral twin lengths are used for stress/strain analysis. The simulations are complemented with experimental observations using high-resolution electron backscattered diffraction. The simulations and experiments show a similar distribution of the shear stress and the spatial activity of individual slip systems(basal, prismatic, pyramidal). Plasticity induced inside the twin is dominantly caused by the prismatic dislocations slip and does not influence twin back stress which is identical to pure elastic twin. The twin with larger lateral dimension requires lower equilibrium stress which suggests anisotropic twin propagation and increased thickness of such twins. The lateral twin propagation is mostly influenced by prismatic and pyramidal slip in the twin vicinity. The twin thickness can reach a maximal level that is driven by the critical resolved shear stress values for dislocation slip with the significant influence of basal slip.

In the paper we discuss and compare two commonly used methods of finding the shortest paths in networks,namely dijkstra’s and A**** compare their effectiveness in terms of traversing road network in circumstances that require swift decision making in the event of dynamically changing road conditions on the basis of studies conducted for evacuation *** build a proper model of such a network,a method of appropriate edge-weighting is introduced,based on empirical data collected by other ***,we use the basics of the theory of quasimetric spaces to introduce a heuristic to such graphs,which is easy to calculate *** heuristic we obtain is both admissible and consistent,which allows us to use it efficiently in A*search *** developed application can be used in studies into evacuation from hazardous *** this case,optimum calculative efficiency is achievable with a simultaneous reduction of calculation time(when compared to dijkstra’s algorithm).Our application can be applied during the first stage,i.e.,prior to the occurrence of a disaster,since this is an appropriate time for preparation by planning,drilling,early warning,and designating the rescue services that are to participate in the following stages.

PLANTs,POLLINATORs,ANd BIOdIVERsITY:THEsTATUsQUO Plant-pollinator coevolution has played a crucial role in shaping the biodiversity of ecosystems that we know ***,plants and pollinators are key to agriculture,contributing to the production of most fruits and vegetables necessary for healthy human ***,over the last decades,there is mounting evidence of pollinator decline all over the world,which constitutes a major threat to food security(European Commission,2020).To pollinators,nectar and pollen are the main rewards:pollen is essentially their only source of proteins,lipids,and vitamins,while nectar is a carbohydrate-rich solution that they use to fuel somatic functions(Ollerton,2021).However,nectar is much more than just a sweet solution:it comprises a plethora of secondary metabolites and volatiles of major importance for plant-pollinator ***,by neglecting these traits and reducing genetic diversity,plant breeding has potentially increased the risk of losing the traits beneficial to pollinators.

In spite of continuous research efforts directed at early detection and treatment of pancreatic cancer, the outlook for patients affected by the disease remains dismal. With most cases still being diagnosed at advanced stages, no improvement in survival prognosis is achieved with current diagnostic imaging approaches. In the absence of a dominant precancerous condition, several risk factors have been identified including family history, chronic pancreatitis, smoking, diabetes mellitus, as well as certain genetic disorders such as hereditary pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis, familial atypical multiple mole melanoma, and Peutz-Jeghers and Lynch syn- dromes. Most pancreatic carcinomas, however, remain sporadic. Current progress in experimental molecular techniques has enabled detailed understanding of the molecular processes of pancreatic cancer development. According to the latest information, malignant pancre- atic transformation involves multiple oncogenes and tumor-suppressor genes that are involved in a variety of signaling pathways. The most characteristic aberrations （somatic point mutations and allelic losses） affect onco- genes and tumor-suppressor genes within RAs, AK-I- and Wnt signaling, and have a key role in transcription and proliferation, as well as systems that regulate the cell cycle （sMAd/dPC, CdKN2A/p16） and apoptosis （TP53）. Understanding of the underlying molecular mechanisms should promote development of new methodology for early diagnosis and facilitate improvement in current approaches for pancreatic cancer treatment.

since years, online social networks have evolved from profile and communication websites to online portals where people interact with each other, share and consume multimedia-enriched data and play different types of games. due to the immense popularity of these online games and their huge revenue potential, the number of these games increases every day, resulting in a current offering of thousands of online social games. In this paper, the applicability of neighborhood-based collaborative filtering （CF） algorithms for the recommendation of online social games is evaluated. This evaluation is based on a large dataset of an online social gaming platform containing game ratings （explicit data） and online gaming behavior （implicit data） of millions of active users. several similarity metrics were implemented and evaluated on the explicit data, implicit data and a combination thereof. It is shown that the neighborhood-based CF algorithms greatly outperform the content-based algorithm, currently often used on online social gaming websites. The reslflts also show that a combined approach, fie, taking into account both implicit and explicit data at the same time, yields overall good results on all evaluation metrics for all scenarios, while only slightly performing worse compared to the strengths of the explicit or implicit only approaches. The best performing algorithms have been implemented in a live setup of the online game platform.
