Electrical energy is essential for modern society to sustain economic *** soaring demand for the electrical energy,together with an awareness of the environmental impact of fossil fuels,has been driving a shift towards the utilization of solar ***,traditional solar energy solutions often require extensive spaces for a panel installation,limiting their practicality in a dense urban *** overcome the spatial constraint,researchers have developed transparent photovoltaics(TPV),enabling windows and facades in vehicles and buildings to generate electric *** TPV advancements are focused on improving both transparency and power output to rival commercially available silicon solar *** this review,we first briefly introduce wavelength-and non-wavelengthselective strategies to achieve *** of merit and theoretical limits of TPVs are discussed to comprehensively understand the status of current TPV *** we highlight recent progress in different types of TPVs,with a particular focus on solution-processed thin-film photovoltaics(PVs),including colloidal quantum dot PVs,metal halide perovskite PVs and organic *** applications of TPVs are also reviewed,with emphasis on agrivoltaics,smart windows and ***,current challenges and future opportunities in TPV research are pointed out.

Machine learning empowers efficient design of ternary organic solar cells with PM6 donor

Organic solar cells(OsCs) hold great potential as a photovoltaic technology for practical ***, the traditional experimental trial-and-error method for designing and engineering OsCs can be complex, expensive, and time-consuming. Machine learning(ML) techniques enable the proficient extraction of information from datasets, allowing the development of realistic models that are capable of predicting the efficacy of materials with commendable accuracy. The PM6 donor has great potential for high-performance OsCs. However, it is crucial for the rational design of a ternary blend to accurately forecast the power conversion efficiency(PCE) of ternary OsCs(TOsCs) based on a PM6 ***, we collected the device parameters of PM6-based TOsCs and evaluated the feature importance of their molecule descriptors to develop predictive models. In this study, we used five different ML algorithms for analysis and prediction. For the analysis, the classification and regression tree provided different rules, heuristics, and patterns from the heterogeneous dataset. The random forest algorithm outperforms other prediction ML algorithms in predicting the output performance of PM6-based TOsCs. Finally, we validated the ML outcomes by fabricating PM6-based TOsCs. Our study presents a rapid strategy for assessing a high PCE while elucidating the substantial influence of diverse descriptors.

Touristic urbanization and greening of coastal dune fields:A long-term assessment of a temperate sandy barrier of Argentina

Dune barrier systems represent highly sought-after coastal landscapes for tourism and urban development around the world. However, a century ago, they were considered hazardous environments due to their great dynamic nature. As a result, stabilization practices were considered necessary. The systematic introduction of fast-growing exotic trees helped stabilize the sand, making it easier for tourism urbanization to take place, but also leading to erosion processes. This paper aims to assess long-term changes in vegetation cover over a large temperate barrier in Argentina. This complex region includes urban resorts, afforestation zones, and protected areas. A GIs-based geospatial analysis was conducted using a large satellite database(> 350 images), and the future evolution of the vegetation was modeled. The results revealed two primary spatiotemporal patterns associated with a gradual expansion of vegetation cover, accompanied by a concurrent reduction in sandy areas. In 1986, the dune area comprised 75% more surface than vegetation, whereas in 2021, it represented 60% less than vegetation. Furthermore, the 2050 scenario suggests a potential 40% reduction of dunes in certain areas. It is necessary to enhance management actions aimed at maintaining dune mobility and ensuring local and regional sediment balance. Long-term management strategies must focus on restoring native plant communities and controlling invasive species, and avoiding new dune fixation initiatives based on the introduction of exotic species.

In this case report, we present the occlusion of multiple coronary artery fistulaes originating from proximal left anterior descending （LAD） and fight sinus valsavla and empting to the pulmonary artery at the same place. We occluded LAD fistulae by using thrombus aspira- tion catheter as a delivery guide. To the best of our knowlege, this is the first case of occlusion of coronary fistulaes with the help of throm- bus aspiration catheter. Our experience may suggest that thrombus aspiration catheters can be used in treating coronary artery fistulaes with difficult anotomv.

Ultrasound biomicroscopy in patients with unilateral pseudoexfoliation

·AIM: To compare the anterior segment morphology evaluated using ultrasound biomicroscopy(UBM) in patients with clinical pseudoexfoliation syndrome(XFs)in one eye and no clinical XFs in the fellow eye.·METHODs: Thirty patients with unilateral XFs were included in the study. All patients underwent evaluation of their anterior segment using UBM with and without dilatation with 1% cyclopentolate. The anterior chamber depth(ACD), lens thickness(LT), anterior chamber angle(ACA), ciliary body thickness(CBT), scleral thickness(sT), trabeculae-ciliary processes distance(T-CPD), and iris-ciliary processes distance(I-CPD) were measured using UBM scans. All results between the eyes with clinical XFs and their fellow eyes without clinical XFs were then compared.·REsULTs: Before dilatation the eyes with XFs(4.350±0.531 mm) were found to have a significantly thicker lens(P =0.002) than the eyes without XFs(4.238 ±0.540 mm).In addition after dilatation, the eyes with XFs(4.310 ±0.500 mm) were found to have a significantly thicker lens than the eyes without XFs(4.160±0.480 mm)(P=0.019).The average ACD, for the group with XFs, comparing pre-dilatation(2.616 ±0.349 mm) and post-dilatation measurements(2.714±0.413) was found to be statistically increased(P =0.014). The average ACD, comparing pre-dilatation to post-dilatation measurements in patients without XFs(2.680±0.360),(2.720±0.500) was found to be statistically unchanged(P =0.450).·CONCLUsION: Crystalline lenses tended to be thicker in the eyes with clinical pseudoexfoliation than their fellow eyes without pseudoexfoliation.

A New Hybrid system Design for Thermal Energy storage

Due to some serious environmental problems like global warming and greenhouse effect,studies on solar energy systems are being conducted all over the *** studies conducted in recent years are on hybrid designs in which solar energy systems can realize both electricity and heat production at the same *** this way,both electrical energy and heat energy can be generated from the same system In this study,the design and analysis of a concentrated solar air collector with a heat storage unit were carried *** the solar air collector,heat energy was depot in paraffin wax,and the electrical energy which was stored in the battery using the PV(photovoltaic)modules in the system enabled the operation of the system *** experiments which aimed at determining system performance were carried out in winter when the ambient temperature was *** experiments were performed with or without a heat storage unit,and a comparative analysis was *** was found that the temperature of the air released from the collector ranged from 15°C to 40°C when the exterior temperature was-5°*** average efficiency of the concentrated system without the heat storage unit was calculated as 67%.The average efficiency of the concentrated system with the heat storage unit was calculated as 96%.
