This study investigates the X-ray properties and evolution of Type II supernovae (sNe II) observed by swift, examining variations among supernovae and exploring their X-ray characteristics over time. We present the first X-ray study of the Type IIp supernova sN 2008ij using data from the swift X-ray mission. This investigation focuses on its spectral properties, identifying an X-ray flux of 1.20 (+0.11, −0.10) × 10−13 erg/cm2/s and a plasma temperature of 4.76 (+1.22, −0.83) keV. Our study marks an advancement in understanding sN 2008ij, providing crucial results into its X-ray emission characteristics. These results lay the groundwork for future studies of Type IIp supernovae, offering a foundation for exploring their evolutionary and physical processes.

Airborne LiDAR data are usually collected with partially overlapping strips in order to serve a seamless and fine resolution mapping *** of the factors limiting the use of intensity data is the presence of striping noise found in the overlapping *** recent researches have proposed physical and empirical approaches for intensity data correction,the effect of striping noise has not yet been *** paper presents a radiometric normalization technique to normalize the intensity data from one data strip to another one with partial *** normalization technique is built based on a second-order polynomial function fitted on the joint histogram plot,which is generated with a set of pairwise closest data points identified within the overlapping *** proposed method was tested with two individual LiDAR datasets collected by Teledyne Optech’s Gemini(1064 nm)and Orion(1550 nm)*** experimental results showed that radiometric correction and normalization can significantly reduce the striping noise found in the overlapping LiDAR intensity data and improve its capability in land cover *** coefficient of variation of five selected land cover features was reduced by 19–65%,where a 9–18%accuracy improvement was achieved in different classification *** the proven capability of the proposed method,both radiometric correction and normalization should be applied as a pre-processing step before performing any surface classification and object recognition.

In this paper, the problem of finding exact solutions to the magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) equations in the presence of incompressible mass flows with helical symmetry is considered. For ideal flows, a similarity reduction method is used to obtain exact solutions for several MHD flows with nonlinear variable Mach number. For resistive flows parallel to a magnetic field, the governing equilibrium equation is derived. The MHD equilibrium state of a helically symmetric incompressible flow is governed by a second-order elliptic partial differential equation(PDE) for the helical magnetic flux function. Exact solutions for the latter equation are obtained. Also, the equilibrium equations of a gravitating plasma with incompressible flow are derived.

Repositioning of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors and glucagon like peptide-1 receptor agonists is a breakthrough in the field of neural regeneration research increasing glucagon like peptide-1 bioavailability, hence its neuroprotective activities. In this article, the authors suggest not only crossing blood-brain barrier and neurodegenerative disease as off target for dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors and glucagon like peptide-1 receptor agonists, but also for ophthalmic preparations for diabetic retinopathy, which may be the latest breakthrough in the field if prepared and used in an appropriate nano-formulation to target the retinal nerves. The relation of neurodegenerative diseases' different mechanisms to the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors and glucagon like peptide-1 receptor agonists should be further examined in preclinical and clinical settings. The repositioning of already marketed antidiabetic drugs for neurodegenerative diseases should save the high cost of the time-consuming normal drug development process. Drug repositioning is a hot topic as an alternative to molecular target based drug discovery or therapeutic switching. It is a relatively inexpensive pathway due to availability of previous pharmacological and safety data. The glucagon like peptide-1 produced in brain has been linked to enhanced learning and memory functions as a physiologic regulator in central nervous system by restoring insulin signaling. Intranasal administration of all marketed gliptins(or glucagon like peptide-1 receptor agonists) may show enhanced blood-brain barrier crossing and increased glucagon like peptide-1 levels in the brain after direct crossing of the drug for the olfactory region, targeting the cerebrospinal fluid. The wide engineered application of compacted expansive soils necessitates understanding their behavior under field *** results of this study demonstrate how seasonal climatic variation and stress and boundary conditions individually or collectively influence the hydraulic and volume change behavior of compacted highly expansive *** cyclic wetting and drying(CWD)process was applied for two boundary conditions,*** stress(Cs)and constant volume(CV),and for a wide range of axial stress *** adopted CWD process affected the hydraulic and volume change behaviors of expansive soils,with the first cycle of wetting and drying being the most *** CWD process under Cs conditions resulted in shrinkage accumulation and reduction in saturated hydraulic conductivity(k sat).On the other hand,CWD under CV conditions caused a reduction of swell pressure while has almost no impact on k *** elastic response to CWD was achieved after the third cycle for saturated hydraulic conductivity(k sat),the third to fourth cycle for the volume change potential under the CV conditions,and the fourth to fifth cycle for the volume change potential under the Cs ***,both swell pressure(s s)and saturated hydraulic conductivity(k sat)are not fundamental parameters of the expansive soil but rather depend on stress,boundary and wetting conditions.

Herein, the fabrication of cellulose acetate (CA) silica-based nanocomposite membranes via the dry-wetphase inversion procedure for water desalination was investigated. The modified and unmodified silicananoparticles (MsNPs and sNPs) were prepared by the sol-gel technique. The effect of the sNPs andMsNPs was investigated on the CA membrane's properties and their performance for water *** CA nanocomposite membranes were characterized to study their structure, hydrophilicity, andmorphology. The fabricated nanocomposite membranes showed hydrophilic surface properties. Theperformance of reverse osmosis (RO) membranes was measured using a crossflow RO unit at 10 bar(1 bar = 0.1 MPa). The membrane with 10 mg of sNPs enhanced permeate water flux compared to thepristine CA membrane by 1.6 L/(m2·h). The effect of MsNPs on the nanocomposites' performance waslower than their counterpart in the case of adding sNPs. The membrane with 30 mg of MsNPs showedthe highest permeate water flux among other nanocomposite membranes with a value oAQsf 35.7 L/(m2·h)at 24 bar.
