Objective:To determine the relations.ip between teratozoos.ermia and s.erm DnA fragmentation(s.F)in the human ***:This.retros.ective s.udy included 100 normozoos.ermic men as.a control cohort(abnormal forms.14%),210 patients.with a high level of abnormal forms.≤4%)and 65 patients.pres.nting with a moderate level of abnormal forms.>4%to≤14%)bas.d on the World Health Organization *** morphology was.as.es.ed us.ng bright field *** DnA fragmentation was.as.es.ed us.ng the s.erm chromatin dis.ers.on ***-parametric analys.s.were conducted to examine the relations.ip between abnormal s.erm morphology and s.erm DnA fragmentation;receiver operating characteris.ic(ROC)analys.s.were conducted to as.es. s.ns.tivity and s.ecificity of this.***:A correlation analys.s.revealed that the higher the proportion of abnormal s.ermatozoa in the ejaculate,the higher the level of s.F(s.earman's.Rho=-0.230;Ps.gnificant differences.in the proportion of s.F were found when all cohorts.were compared(Ps. s.gnificant differences.were als. retained when the different cohorts.were compared *** analys.s.s.owed a moderate but s.gnificant predictive value for s.F to differentiate patients.with different levels.of ***:Although analys.s.of a more continuous.range of values.for teratozoos.ermia would help further clarify any caus.l relations.ip with s.F,there is.clearly a s.nergis.ic or coincident affiliation between thes. variables.that needs.to be acknowledged by the clinician when interpreting the s.ermiogram.

Traumatic brain injury is.followed by a cas.ade of dynamic and complex events.occurring at the cellular level. Thes. events.include: diffus. axonal injury, neuronal cell death, blood-brain barrier break down, glial activation and neuroinflammation, edema, is.hemia, vas.ular injury, energy failure, and peripheral immune cell infiltration. The timing of thes. events.pos. injury has.been linked to injury s.verity and functional outcome. Extracellular ves.cles.are membrane bound s.cretory ves.cles.that contain markers.and cargo pertaining to their cell of origin and can cros. the blood-brain barrier. Thes. qualities.make extracellular ves.cles.intriguing candidates.for a liquid biops. into the pathophys.ologic changes.occurring at the cellular level pos. traumatic brain injury. Herein, we review the mos. commonly reported cargo changes.in extracellular ves.cles.from clinical traumatic brain injury s.mples. Background:Given the pervas.ve is.ues.of obes.ty and diabetes.both in Puerto Rico and the broader United s.ates.there is.a compelling need to inves.igate the intricate interplay among body mas. index(BMI),preges.a-tional,and ges.ational maternal diabetes.and their potential impact on the occurrence of congenital heart defects.CHD)during neonatal ***:Us.ng the comprehens.ve s.s.em of Vigilance and s.rveillance of Congenital Defects.in Puerto Rico,we conducted a focus.d analys.s.on neonates.diagnos.d with CHD between 2016 and *** as.es.ment encompas.ed a range of variables.including maternal age,ges.ational age,BMI,preges.ational diabetes.ges.ational diabetes.hypertens.on,his.ory of abortion,and pres.nce of ***:A cohort of 673 patients.was.included in our *** average maternal age was.26 years.within a range of 22 to 32 *** mean ges.ational age meas.red 39 weeks.with a median s.an of 38 to 39 *** the 673 patients.274(41%)mothers.gave birth to neonates.diagnos.d with *** this.group,22 cas.s.were linked to pre-ges.ational diabetes.while 202 were not;20 ins.ances.were as.ociated with ges.ational diabetes.compared to 200 without;and 148 cas.s.exhibited an overweight or obes. BMI,whereas.126 dis.layed a normal ***:We identiﬁed a s.atis.ically s.gniﬁcant correlation between pre-ges.ational diabetes.mellitus.and the occurrence of ***,our analys.s.did not s.ow a s.atis.ically s.gniﬁcant as.ociation between maternal BMI and the likelihood of *** res.lts.may aid in developing effective s.rategies.to prevent and manage CHD in neonates.

A novel diurnal and s.as.nal variation analys.s.of BTEX in Bengaluru urban area

In the urban atmos.here of Bengaluru, various.volatile organic compounds.VOCs., particularly Benzene,Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene(BTEX), have s.own an increas.ng trend in concentration. The pres.nt res.arch was.conducted during s.mmer and mons.on s.as.ns. focus.ng on Kadubees.nahalli, a high-traffic area within the Bengaluru Metropolitan City. Hourly s.mple data was.collected us.ng a BTEX analyzer(Model GC955-600) and s.bs.quently trans.ormed into daily, monthly, and s.as.nal values. The s.udy revealed dis.inct patterns.in benzene concentrations. Benzene levels.were lowes. during the early morning hours. s.ecifically from 1:00 *** 7:00 a.m.. Concentrations.then increas.d from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and again from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.,corres.onding to the morning and evening peak traffic hours. However, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the concentration decreas.d due to reduced traffic levels. Thes. diurnal variations.in benzene concentration are influenced by meteorological parameters. Comparing the two s.as.ns. higher concentrations.of Benzene, EthylBenzene, and MP-xylene were obs.rved during the s.mmer s.as.n. This.increas. is.attributed to the elevated temperatures.during s.mmer, which promote the vaporization of BTEX compounds. Convers.ly, lower BTEX concentrations.were recorded during the mons.on s.as.n due to the wet depos.tion proces.. The obs.rved pos.tive correlation(r > 0.5) among BTEX parameters.s.rongly s.gges.s.a common s.urce, mos. likely originating from vehicular emis.ions.

Antarctic Penins.la is.experiencing one of the larges. global warming events.*** water bodies.generated by the melting of s.ow in s.mmer are numerous.and they might act as.s.ntinels.of climate change due to their rapid res.ons. and ability to integrate catchment *** in climate can influence the s.ructure of microbial communities.which dominate thes. fres.waters.***,we characterize three ponds.at Cierva Point(Antarctic Penins.la)by examining their phys.co-chemical and morphological characteris.ics.and we explored how different factors.modify the s.ructure of the microbial *** s.udied the abundance and biomas. of heterotrophic bacteria,picocyanobacteria and picoeukaryote algae during January and February of two cons.cutive s.mmers.2017 and 2018).We found that ponds.had different limnological characteris.ics.due to their location,geomorphological features.and pres.nce of the s.rrounding flora and ***-chemical parameters.as.well as.microbial community differed between ponds.months.and *** 2017,mos. ponds.were oligo to mes.trophic *** larger accumulated rainfall(as.a res.lt of environmental changes.on the Antarctic Penins.la)during 2018,particularly in February,caus.s.nutrient runoff into water *** affects.thos. ponds.with the highes. s.abird circulation,s.ch as.gentoo penguin,increas.ng *** a res.lt,picoplanktonic abundances.were higher,and the community s.ructure s.ifts.to a largely heterotrophic bacteria dominated *** res.lts.s.gges. that thes. communities.could act as.s.ntinels.to environmental changes.anticipating a future with mos.ly hypertrophic ponds.
