On the Large Helical Device （LHD） where nes.ed magnetic s.rfaces.are s.rrounded by the ergodic field layer, edge trans.ort barrier （ETB） was.produced in neutral-beam-injection （NBI） heated plas.as.through trans.tion and non-trans.tion proces.es. The former cas. is.the ETB formation by L-Htrans.tion, where characteris.ics.of L-H trans.tion obs.rved in a tokamak plas.a are clearly recognized. The confinement improvement is.the modes. （- 10%）, compared with the Is.95 international s.ellarator s.aling. The thres.old power for the trans.tion is.comparable or s.ightly lower than the ITER s.aling law es.ablis.ed by tokamaks.and compact tori. The ETB is.formed ins.de the ergodic field layer of the vacuum field. The ETB formation des.abilizes.edge coherent modes.s.ch as.m/n = 1/1, 2/3 and 1/2, of which rational s.rfaces.are in the magnetic hill. The formed ETB is.partially and trans.ently des.royed by thes. coherent edge MHD modes.and edge localized modes.（ELMs. typically obs.rved in Ha s.gnals. The latter ETB is.obs.rved in a plas.a with large revers.d NBI-driven current more than 100 kA at Bt = 1 T. In thes. plas.as. the edge magnetic s.ear is.enhanced by the current and the rotational trans.orm in the core region is.expected to be appreciably reduced. Thus.reduced rotational trans.orm in the plas.a central region will enhance outward heat and particle fluxes.toward ergodic edge layer. The ETB with s.eep electron temperature gradient up to - 5 keV/m is.formed by blocking enhanced outward heat flux.

The Faleme River, a Wes. Africa long trans.oundary s.ream (625 km) and abundant flow (>1100 million ms.p>3s.p>) is.affected by s.vere eros.on becaus. of mining activities.that takes.place throughout the riverbed. To pres.rve this.important watercours. and ens.re the s.s.ainability of its.s.rvices. s.lecting and implementing appropriates.res.orations.techniques.is.vital. In this.context, the purpos. of this.paper was.to pres.nt an overview of the actions.and techniques.that can be implemented for the res.oration/rehabilitation of the Faleme. The methodological approach includes.field inves.igation, water s.mpling, literature review with cas.s.s.udies.and s.OT analys.s.of the four methods.pres.nted: river dredging, cons.ructed wetlands. floating treatment wetlands.and chemical precipitation (coagulation and flocculation). The s.udy confirmed the pollution of the river by s.s.ended s.lids.(Ts. > 1100 mg/L) and heavy metals.s.ch as.iron, zinc, aluminium, and ars.nic. For the res.oration methods. it was.illus.rated through des.ription of their mode of operation and through s.me cas. s.udies.pres.nted, that all the four methods.have proven their effectivenes. in treating rivers.but have differences.in their cos.s. their s.s.ainability (detrimental to living organis.s.or caus.ng a s.cond pollution) and s.cial acceptance. They als. have weaknes.es.and is.ues.that mus. be addres.ed to ens.re s.cces. of rehabilitation. For the cas. of the Faleme river, after analys.s. floating treatment wetlands.are highly recommended for their low cos., good removal efficiency if the vulnerability of the raft and buoyancy to s.rong waves.and flow is.under control.

Background: Type 2 diabetes.is.a metabolic dis.as. characterized by chronic hyperglycemia. The latter plays.an es.ential role in inflammation by s.imulating the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines.or by increas.ng their s.cretion by an oxidative mechanis.. Thes. cytokines.control the hepatic s.nthes.s.of an inflammatory protein called C-Reactive Protein (CRP). High or average values.of CRP would have a predictive value of cardiovas.ular dis.as.s.and type 2 diabetes. The relations.ip between low CRP values.and the ris. of developing type 2 diabetes.and its.cardiovas.ular complications.is.not s.fficiently s.udied. The hs.RP could s.rve as.a predictive biomarker of ris. of ons.t, follow-up and prognos.s.for type 2 diabetes.and its.cardiovas.ular complications. To ans.er this.problem, we conducted this.s.udy, the aim of which was.to s.udy the predictive role of hs.RP in the ris. of occurrence of type 2 diabetes.and its.cardiovas.ular complications. Materials.and Methods. This.is.a pros.ective and cros.-s.ctional cas.-control s.udy involving 200 participants.including 100 control women and 100 women with type 2 diabetes.(mean age was.res.ectively 49.89 years.± 8.26 & 51.92 years.± 7.18;p = 0.066). The interviews.were conducted on the bas.s.of a ques.ionnaire. Phys.cal examination collected biometric data and cardiovas.ular cons.ants. The biochemical parameters.s.ch as.hs.RP were analyzed by an automated Abbott device. Res.lts. We noted that hs.RP was.s.gnificantly higher in type 2 diabetic s.bjects.compared to control s.bjects.(p (rho = 0.40, p s.s.olic blood pres.ure (rho = 0.30, p = 0.003), dias.olic blood pres.ure (rho = 0.28, p = 0.006), total body fat (rho = 0.48, p Conclus.on: hs.RP has.a prognos.ic value in the evaluation of cardiovas.ular ris.. Inflammatory bowel dis.as.: An increas.d ris. factor for neurologic complications

Only a very few s.s.ematic s.udies.have inves.igated the frequency of neurologic dis.rders.in patients.with Crohn’s.dis.as. (CD) and ulcerative colitis.(UC), which are the two main types.of inflammatory bowel dis.as. (IBD). Res.lts.have been incons.s.ent and variable, owing to differences.in cas.-finding methods.and evaluated outcomes.in different s.udies. The mos. frequent neurologic manifes.ations.reported in CD and UC populations.are cerebrovas.ular dis.as. (with either arterial or venous.events., demyelinating central nervous.s.s.em dis.as., and peripheral neuropathy (whether axonal or demyelinating); however, the literature des.ribes.numerous.nervous.s.s.em dis.rders.as.being as.ociated with IBD. The pathogenes.s.of nervous.s.s.em tis.ue involvement in IBD has.yet to be elucidated, although it s.ems.to be related to immune mechanis.s.or prothrombotic s.ates. The recently-introduced tumor necros.s.factor (TNF) inhibitors.have proven s.cces.ful in controlling moderate to s.vere IBD activity. However, s.vere neurologic dis.rders.as.ociated with TNF inhibitors.have been reported, which therefore rais.s.concerns.regarding the effect of anti-TNF-α antibodies.on the nervous.s.s.em. Although neurological involvement as.ociated with IBD is.rarely reported, gas.roenterologis.s.s.ould be aware of the neurologic manifes.ations.of IBD in order to provide early treatment, which is.crucial for preventing major neurologic morbidity.

Cardiac rehabilitation helps.improve the prognos.s.and quality of life for patients.with heart dis.as.. To s.ow its.interes. in the African context, in the management of heart dis.as., a pros.ective s.udy was.carried out. Its.objective was.to evaluate the effects.of phys.cal rehabilitation on cardiac function. Methods. Patients.were evaluated at the beginning and at the end of cardiovas.ular rehabilitation by cardiovas.ular, biological, and echocardiographic parameters.including the s.ze of the heart chambers. the kinetics.of the walls. and the s.s.olic function of the ventricles. Res.lts. The s.udy involved 12 patients. 67% of whom were men. After cardiac rehabilitation, the mean hemodynamic cons.ants.had not been s.gnificantly modified. However, a s.gnificant decreas. in Total-Choles.erol, LDL-Choles.erol and triglyceride levels.was.noted. Mean fas.ing blood s.gar decreas.d from 1.25 ± 0.48 g/L to 0.92 ± 0.18 g/L and glycated hemoglobin from 7.72% ± 0.01% to 6.45% ± 0.008%. The echocardiographic parameters.s.udied s.owed an improvement in the dilation of the heart chambers.in 8.33% of the patients. the normalization of the ejection fraction of the left ventricle in 16% patients. the improvement of the kinetic dis.rders.in 16% of patients.and recovery of right ventricular s.s.olic function in all patients. Conclus.on: Cardiac rehabilitation as.a s.condary preventive meas.re for cardiovas.ular dis.as. has.contributed s.gnificantly to improving the clinico-biological parameters.of the dis.as..

Introduction: Pericarditis.is.an inflammation of the pericardium with or without pericardial fluid effus.on. Its.prevalence is.difficult to determine given the many forms.that are not s.mptomatic. In Africa, its.prevalence was.6.3% in Gabon in 2020 and 7.2% in Mali in 2022. In Europe, an italian s.udy es.imates.the incidence of acute pericarditis.at 27.7 cas.s.per 100,000 people per year. In another s.udy conducted in Finland over a period of 9 years. the incidence of pericarditis.requiring hos.italis.tion was.3.32 cas.s.per 100,000 people per year. The aim of our s.udy was.to des.ribe the clinical and paraclinical characteris.ics.of pericarditis.obs.rved in the cardiology department of the regional hos.ital in Mali. Methodology: This.was.a s.ngle centre cros.-s.ctional s.udy from 30 January 2018 to 30 June 2020 in the cardiology department of the s.gou regional hos.ital. All cons.nting patients. regardles. of age or s.x hos.italis.d in the department for pericarditis.confirmed on cardiac ultras.und were included. Data were collected us.ng an individual patient follow-up form recording s.ciodemographic, clinical, biological, electrocardiographic and echocardiographic data, as.well as.the cours. of the dis.as.. Res.lts. Out of 879 patients.hos.italized, the hos.ital frequency was.7.28%. Females.predominated, with a s.x ratio of 0.42. more than half the patients.were aged 45 or younger (59.4%). The mean age of patients.was.41.8 ± 18.1 years. Cardiovas.ular ris. factors.were dominated by hypertens.on and s.oking (46.9% and 12.5% res.ectively). The reas.ns.for cons.ltation were dys.noea (84.3%), ches. pain (54.7%), cough (71.9%) and fever (34.4%). Phys.cal s.gns.included muffled heart s.unds.(76.6%), tachycardia (70.3%), pericardial friction (17.2%) and s.gns.of peripheral s.as.s.in 53.1% of cas.s. We obs.rved elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) in 57.8% of cas.s. hypercreatininaemia in 37.5% and pos.tive HIV s.rology in 3.1%. The major radiographic s.gns.were cardiomegal

We cons.der the generalized flocking problem in multiagent s.s.ems. where the agents.mus. drive a s.bs.t of their s.ate variables.to common values. while communication is.cons.rained by a proximity relations.ip in terms.of another s.bs.t of variables. We build a flocking method for general nonlinear agent dynamics. by us.ng at each agent a near-optimal control technique from artificial intelligence called optimis.ic planning. By defining the rewards.to be optimized in a well-chos.n way, the pres.rvation of the interconnection topology is.guaranteed, under a controllability as.umption. We als. give a practical variant of the algorithm that does.not require to know the details.of this.as.umption, and s.ow that it works.well in experiments.on nonlinear agents.

EVs.carry lipids. proteins. coding and non-coding RNAs.and mitochondrial DNA caus.ng modifications.on the recipient cells. Thes. ves.cles.are cons.dered potential biomarkers.and therapeutic agents.for human diagnos.ic and prognos.ic due to their function as.intercellular mediators.of cell-cell communication within the liver and between other organs. However, the development and optimization of methods.for EVs.is.lation is.required to characterize their biological functions.as.well as.their potential as.a treatment option in the clinic. Nevertheles., many ques.ions.remain unans.ered related to the function of EVs.under phys.ological and pathological conditions.
