Fault movement during earthquakes.is.a geotechnical phenomenon threatening buried pipelines.and with the potential to caus. s.vere damage to critical ***,effective prediction of pipe dis.lacement is.crucial for preventive management *** s.udy aims.to develop a fas.,hybrid model for predicting vertical dis.lacement of pipe networks.when they experience *** this.s.udy,the complex behavior of s.il and a buried pipeline s.s.em s.bjected to a normal fault is.analyzed by us.ng an artificial neural network(ANN)to generate predictions.the behavior of the s.il when different parameters.of it are *** this.purpos.,a finite element model is.developed for a pipeline s.bjected to normal fault *** data bank us.d for training the ANN includes.all the critical s.il parameters.cohes.on,internal friction angle,Young’s.modulus.and faulting).Furthermore,a mathematical formula is.pres.nted,bas.d on bias.s.and weights.of the ANN *** res.lts.s.ow that the maximum error of the pres.nted formula is.2.03%,which makes.the propos.d technique efficiently predict the vertical dis.lacement of buried pipelines.and hence,helps.to optimize the upcoming pipeline projects.

human fallopian tubes.(FTs. play important roles.in the whole reproductive proces.. FTs.are the s.te for the final maturation of gametes. fertilization, trans.ort of preimplantation embryos. and early embryonic development before entering the uterus. All thes. functions.are critical in the es.ablis.ment of a s.cces.ful pregnancy. When the embryo is.in trans.t through the FT, the FT microenvironment changes.through endocrine, paracrine, autocrine, and juxtacrine mechanis.s.which involve various.hormones.and bioactive s.bs.ances.mainly from the neighboring cells. Therefore, the interactions.between the embryo and the FT may be the earlies. embryo-maternal communications.that are es.ential for the es.ablis.ment of pregnancy. This.review critically dis.us.es.the evidence of various.hormonal and bioactive mediated control of the microenvironment in the FTs.during the earlies. embryo-maternal communications. Moreover, we highlight exis.ing gaps.in the knowledge and the importance of exploring more of the phys.ology of FTs.which will hold the key to producing high-quality embryos.for patients.s.ekingin vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments.

Optimizing Average Electric Power During the Charging of Lithium-Ion Batteries.Through the Taguchi Method

Objective: The aim of the work des.ribed here was.to evaluate the role of contras.-enhanced ultras.und (CEUs. in res.ons. evaluation for unres.ctable advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (hCC) treated with tyros.ne kinas. inhibitors.(TKIs. plus.anti-programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) antibody therapy. Methods. A pros.ective cohort of cons.cutive patients.with hCC who received combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody treatment for unres.ctable hCC between January 2022 and October 2022 was.included in this.s.udy. The patients.underwent unenhanced ultras.und (Us. and CEUs.examinations.before treatment and at follow-up. Changes.in the larges. diameters.of the target tumor on unenhanced Us.and the larges. diameters.of the enhancing target tumors.on CEUs.were evaluated. Res.ons. Evaluation Criteria in s.lid Tumors.(RECIs.) vers.on 1.1 with unenhanced Us.and magnetic res.nance imaging/computed tomography (MRI/CT) and modified RECIs. (mRECIs.) with CEUs.and CEMRI/CT were us.d to as.es. treatment res.ons.. Res.lts. A total of 24 hCC patients.(23 men and 1 woman; mean age: 56.5 ± 8.5 y; Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer s.age C, 62.5%; 29 intrahepatic target tumors. were s.udied. Calculations.of degree of necros.s.in the target tumors.revealed no s.gnificant differences.between CEUs.and CEMRI/CT (44.5 ± 36.2% vs. 45.3 ± 36.8%, p = 0.862). As.for the differentiation of res.onders.from non-res.onders. the agreement between RECIs. vers.on 1.1 of unenhanced Us.and mRECIs.-CEUs.was.poor (κ coefficient = 0.233). Meanwhile, there was.a high degree of concordance between mRECIs.-CEUs.and mRECIs.-CEMRI/CT (κ coefficient = 0.812). Conclus.on: CEUs.proved to be s.perior to bas.line Us.and is.comparable to CEMRI/CT in defining treatment outcome for combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody therapy. © 2023 World Federation for Ultras.und in Medicine & Biology

In recent times. lithium-ion batteries.have been widely us.d owing to their high energy dens.ty, extended cycle lifes.an, and minimal s.lf-dis.harge rate. The des.gn of high-s.eed rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.faces.a s.gnificant challenge owing to the need to increas. average electric power during charging. This.challenge res.lts.from the direct influence of the power level on the rate of chemical reactions.occurring in the battery electrodes. In this.s.udy, the Taguchi optimization method was.us.d to enhance the average electric power during the charging proces. of lithium-ion batteries. The Taguchi technique is.a s.atis.ical s.rategy that facilitates.the s.s.ematic and efficient evaluation of numerous.experimental variables. The propos.d method involved varying s.ven input factors. including pos.tive electrode thicknes., pos.tive electrode material, pos.tive electrode active material volume fraction, negative electrode active material volume fraction, s.parator thicknes., pos.tive current collector thicknes., and negative current collector thicknes.. Three levels.were as.igned to each control factor to identify the optimal conditions.and maximize the average electric power during charging. Moreover, a variance as.es.ment analys.s.was.conducted to validate the res.lts.obtained from the Taguchi analys.s. The res.lts.revealed that the Taguchi method was.an eff ective approach for optimizing the average electric power during the charging of lithium-ion batteries. This.indicates.that the pos.tive electrode material, followed by the s.parator thicknes. and the negative electrode active material volume fraction, was.key factors.s.gnificantly infl uencing the average electric power during the charging of lithium-ion batteries.res.ons.. The identification of optimal conditions.res.lted in the improved performance of lithium-ion batteries. extending their potential in various.applications. Particularly, lithium-ion batteries.with average electric power of 16 W and 17

The pres.nt work aimed to document the facies.development and s.dimentology of the Raghama carbonates.expos.d along the eas.ern coas.al plain of the Red s.a, northwes.ern s.udi Arabia. Four s.ratigraphic s.ctions.were meas.red and s.mpled(D1–D4) and thin s.ctions.and major and trace element analys.s.were prepared and applied for petrographic and geochemical approaches. The carbonates.were s.bdivided into three s.cces.ive fore-reef, reef-core, and back-reef depos.tional facies. s.ndy s.romatolitic bounds.one, microbial laminites. dolomitic ooidal grains.one, bioclas.ic coralline algal wackes.one, s.ndy bioclas.ic wackes.one, and coral bounds.ones.were the reported microfacies.types. Petrographic analys.s.reveals.that the s.udied carbonates.were affected by dis.olution, dolomitization, and aggrading recrys.allization, which affects.both the original micrite matrix and grains.or acts.as.fracture and veinlet filling leading to wides.read vuggy and moldic poros.ty. No evidence of phys.cal compaction, s.gges.ing rapid lithification and recrys.allization during early diagenes.s.and prior to s.bs.antial burial and intens.ve flus.ing by meteoric waters. Mos. of the original micros.ructure of corals.were leached and des.ructed. This.is.indicated by the higher depletion in s. and Ca levels.and increas. in Mg,Na, Fe, and Mn levels. es.ecially in s.ction D1, in comparis.n with the worldwide carbonates.
