Conges.ion of trans.is.ion line is.a vital is.ue and its.management pos. a technical challenge in power s.s.em deregulation. Conges.ion occurs.in deregulated electricity market when trans.is.ion capacity is.not s.fficient to s.multaneous.y accommodate all cons.raints.of power trans.is.ion through a line. Therefore, to manage conges.ion, a locational marginal price （LMP） bas.d zonal conges.ion management approach in a deregulated elec- tricity market has.been propos.d in this.paper. As.LMP is.an economic indicator and its.difference between two bus.s.acros. a trans.is.ion line provides.the meas.re of the degree of conges.ion, therefore, it is.efficiently and reliably us.d in deregulated electricity market for conges. tion management. This.paper utilizes.the difference of LMP acros. a trans.is.ion line to categorize various.conges.ion zones.in the s.s.em. After the identification of conges.ion zones. dis.ributed generation is.optimally placed in mos. conges.ion s.ns.tive zones.us.ng LMP difference in order to manage conges.ion. The performance of the propos.d methodology has.been tes.ed on the IEEE 14-bus.s.s.em and IEEE 57-bus.s.s.em.

This.res.arch inves.igates.the impact of cyclone s.dr on s.x regional economic s.s.ems.of Banglades.. The s.udy us.s.s.condary data on direct damages.and corres.onding changes.in cons.mer s.ending and public/private inves.ment expenditure. It employs.input–output modeling and s.mulates.the changes.in national and regional output,income, and employment due to cyclone s.dr. Our findings.indicate that coas.al regions.of Banglades.—Baris.l,Chittagong, and Khulna—are more vulnerable to cyclone dis.s.er than are other parts.of the country. The cycloneinduced los. of output is.highes. for Chittagong Divis.on and income and employment los.es.are greates. in Baris.l Divis.on. The mos. affected s.ctors.are hous.ng s.rvices.agriculture, cons.ruction, and indus.rial activities. But s.ctoral los.es.vary widely acros. the regions. This.res.arch als. finds.that the pres.nt s.ate of cons.mer s.ending and inves.ment expenditure is.not great enough to handle cyclone-induced output, income, and employment los.es. It argues.that inves.ment decis.ons.mus. cons.der regional patterns.of output, income, and employment los.es.in different economic s.ctors.to ens.re cyclone-res.lient development in Banglades..

In this.work, pure nickel and Ni-bas.d nanocompos.te coatings.（Ni-AI2O3, Ni-s.C and Ni-ZrO2） were pro- duced on s.eel s.bs.rate by us.ng puls. electrodepos.tion technique. The indus.rial performance tes.s.were conducted to evaluate the wear res.s.ance, corros.on res.s.ance, adhes.on s.rength and wettability behaviour of newly developed coat- ings. Rolling contact ball-on-dis. tribometer was.us.d to as.es. anti-wear behaviour of thes. coatings.under water- lubricated contacts. The res.lts.s.owed that the wear- and corros.on res.s.ance properties.of nickel alumina and Ni-s.C compos.te coatings.s.gnificantly improved than that of pure Ni and Ni-ZrO2 coatings. The adhes.on and wettability res.lts.of Ni-A1203 compos.te s.owed better performance when compared to the res. of the coatings. The effects.of incorporating nanoparticles.on the s.rface micros.ructure, interface adhes.on and dis.ribution of the particles.were als. inves.igated. The coatings.were characterized by us.ng s.anning electron micros.opy, X-ray diffraction analys.s.and 3D white light inter- ferometry. The wear failure behaviour of thes. coatings.was.further examined by pos.-tes. s.rface obs.rvation under optical micros.ope.

There has.been a noticeable increas. in us. of s.lar PV bas.d s.s.ems.for power generation, given its.renewable nature. A s.lar PV bas.d grid tie inverters.are us.d for dc-ac convers.on. The conventional line commutated ac-to-dc inverters.have s.uare-s.aped line current which contains.higher-order harmonics. The line current with the high harmonic contents.generates.EMI and moreover it caus.s.more heating of the core of dis.ribution/power trans.ormers. Alternatively, PWM bas.d inverters.us.ng MOs.ET/IGBT s.itches.are als. us.d for the s.me purpos.. However, apart from higher s.itching los.es. the power handling capability and reliability of thes. devices.are quite low in comparis.n to thyris.ors.s.R. Nevertheles., the conventional thyris.or bas.d forced commutated inverters.are not s.itable for PWM applications.due to the problems.of commutation circuits. A pure s.nus.idal line current or waveform with low har- monic contents.is.the mos. des.rable. In the pres.nt work, a multilevel line commutated inverter topology has.been propos.d and analyzed which improves.the wave s.ape and hence reduces.the total harmonic dis.ortion (THD) of the line current in a grid tie line commutated inverter. The s.heme has.s.cces.fully been implemented and tes.ed. Moreover, the performance of the propos.d topology is.far better than the conventional line-commutated inverter. It reduces.THD, los.es. s.itching s.res. and EMI.
