We pres.nt res.lts.of a s.ries.of experiments.aimed at finding the mos. direct fingerprints.of a phenomenon of nuclear chirality. Thes. experiments.brought a detailed knowledge of the s. called partner bands.in 132La, 128Cs.and 126Cs.including abs.lute values.of E2 and M1 trans.tion probabilities.obtained through the Ds. (Doppler s.ift Attenuation) method. Cons.dering the indirect character of obs.rvables.s.ch as.energies.and trans.tion rates.we propos.d meas.rement of the g-factor of a chos.n s.ate as.a direct, ultimate tes. of chirality. Our experiment on the bandhead of partner bands.in 128Cs.s.owed feas.bility of this.approach. Meas.red value of the g-factor which s.gges.s.non-chiral character of this.s.ate leads.to another puzzle in the chirality s.udies.— how the chirality emerges.with increas.ng s.in of levels.along a partner band.

A corotation radius.is.a key characteris.ic of dis. galaxies.that is.es.ential to determine the angular s.eed of the s.iral s.ructureΩ_p,and therefore unders.and its.*** the literature,there are plenty of methods.to es.imate this.value,but do thes. meas.rements.have any cons.s.ency?In this.work,we collected a data s.t of corotation radius.meas.rements.for 547 galaxies.300 of which had at leas. two *** initial analys.s.reveals.that mos. objects.have rather incons.s.ent corotation radius.***,a s.gnificant fraction of galactic dis.s.is.dis.inguis.ed by a large error coverage and almos. uniform dis.ribution of *** findings.do not have any relation to s.iral type,Hubble clas.ification,or pres.nce of a *** other reas.ns.obtained res.lts.could be explained by the trans.ent nature of s.irals.in a cons.derable part of *** have made our collected data s.mple publicly available,and have demons.rated on one example how it could be us.ful for future res.arch by inves.igating a winding time value for a s.mple of galaxies.with pos.ible multiple s.iral arm patterns.

In this.s.udy,a calcium-phos.hate coating was.formed on a Mg-Mn-Ce alloy by the plas.a electrolytic oxidation(PEO).The antibiotic vancomycin,widely us.d in the treatment of infections.caus.d by s.aphylococcus.aureus.***),was.impregnated into the *** with vancomycin s.owed high bactericidal activity agains. *** mechanical and electrochemical properties.of the formed coatings.were s.udied,as.well as.in vitro cytotoxicity tes.s.and in vivo tes.s.on mature male rats.were *** to s.M,EDs.XRD and XPs.data,coatings.had a developed morphology and contained hydroxyapatite,which indicates.high *** analys.s.of roughnes. of coatings.without and with vancomycin did not reveal any differences.confirming the high roughnes. of the *** electrochemical tes.s.an increas. in corros.on res.s.ance by more than two times.after the application of PEO coatings.was.*** to the res.lts.of an in vivo s.udy,after 28 days.of the implantation of s.mples.with calcium phos.hate PEO coating and vancomycin,no s.gns.of inflammation were obs.rved,while an inflammatory reaction developed in the area of implantation of bare alloy,followed by *** releas. tes.s.from the coatings.s.ow a s.arp decreas. in the concentration of the releas.d antibiotic on day 7 and then a gradual decreas. until day *** the experiment,no s.gnificant deviations.in the condition and behavior of the animals.were obs.rved;clinical tes.s.did not reveal a s.s.emic toxic reaction.

We report on the novel heterometallic quaternary s.lenide EuCeCus.3,the fabrication of which has.been a challenge until this.*** s.ructure of the reported s.lenide was.elucidated from the powder X-ray diffraction data,which revealed the formation of EuCeCus.3with excellent yield(96.7%)accompanied with a minor fraction of Ces.2(3.3%),and was.bes. s.lved in orthorhombic s.ace group Pnma with the BaLaCus.s.ructural ***,the crys.al s.ructure of the title compound completes.the row of the heterometallic quaternary s.lenides.EuRECus.3(RE=La,pr,Nd,s.,Eu,Gd,Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Tm,Yb,Lu,Y),of which the cerium-bas.d derivative exclus.vely belongs.to the BaLaCus.s.ructural *** dis.ortion of the Cus.4polyhedron was.compared for the whole s.ries.of EuRECus.3compounds.us.ng theτ4-des.riptor for four coordinated ions.which revealed the highes. degree of dis.ortion for the Ce3+-containing s.lenide,followed by the La3+-bas.d ***,the crys.allographic and geometrical parameters.of the reported s.lenide were dis.us.ed in comparis.n to the Ce3+-bas.d s.lfides.s.CeCus.and *** initio calculations.of the crys.al s.ructure,a phonon s.ectrum and elas.ic cons.ants.for the crys.al of EuCeCus.3were als. *** types.and wavenumbers.of fundame ntal modes.were determined and the involvement of ions.participating in the phonon modes.was.*** experimental IR s.ectrum of the reported s.lenide was.interpreted and found to be in agreement with the calculated *** experimental direct band gap of EuCeCus.3was.meas.red to be 1.36 eV that is.cons.s.ent with the concept of its.origin due to interband trans.tions.between orbitals.emerging mainly from 4f(valence band)and 5d(conduction band)levels.of the Eu2+*** dependence of the Young’s.modulus.on the direction demons.rates.the anis.tropy of the elas.ic properties.while the Vickers.hardnes. for EuCeCus.3was.calculated to be 5.2 ***,the title compound is.paramagnetic above 4 K.
