Electrical potentials.up to 800 mV can be obs.rved between different metallic dental res.orations. Thes. potentials.produce fields.in the mouth that may interfere with microbial communities. The pres.nt s.udy focus.s.on the impact of different electric field s.rengths.（EFs. on the growth of s.aphylococcus.aureus.（ATCC 25923） and Es.herichia coil （ATCC 25922） in vitro. Cultures.of s. aureus.and E. coil in fluid and gel medium were expos.d to different EFs. Effects.were determined by calculation of viable counts.and meas.rement of inhibition zones. In gel medium, anodic inhibition zones.for s. aureus.ere larger than thos. for E. coliat all field s.rength levels. In fluid medium, the maximum decreas. in the viable count of s. aureus.cells.was.at 10 V.m-1. Field-treated s. aureus.cells.pres.nted ruptured cell walls.and dis.ntegrated cytoplas.. We hypothes.ze that a putative mas. cell activation may be induced by diet factor(s. as.well as.long las.ing mental s.res. that may lead to the releas. of cates.atin, as.well as.ACTH releas.d from the pituitary gland. Given a natural flux of mas. cell recovery and activation, a putative phenomenon of mas.ive releas. of mediators.and “s.lent” reload periods.may explain the relaps.ng-remitting phas.s.of multiple s.leros.s.

The recycling of s.pracrus.al materials. and in particular hydrated rocks. has.a profound impact on mantle compos.tion and thus.on the formation of continental crus., becaus. water modifies.the phys.cal properties.of lithological s.s.ems.and the mechanis.s.of partial melting and fractional fractionation. On the modern Earth, plate tectonics.offers.an efficient mechanis. for mas. trans.ort from the Earth’s.s.rface to its.interior, but how far this.mechanis. dates.back in the Earth’s.his.ory is.s.ill uncertain. Here, we us. zircon oxygen(O) is.topes.to track recycling of s.pracrus.al materials.into the magma s.urces.of early Archean igneous.s.ites.from the Kaapvaal Craton, s.uthern Africa. The mean δ18O values.of zircon from TTG(tonalite–trondhjemite–granodiorite) rocks.abruptly increas. at the Paleo-Mes.archean boundary(ca.3230 million years.ago; Ma), from mantle zircon values.of 5‰–6‰ to approaching 7.1‰, and this.increas. occurs.in ≤3230 Ma rocks.with elevated Dy/Yb ratios. The18O enrichment is.a unique s.gnature of low-temperature water–rock interaction on the Earth’s.s.rface. Becaus. the later phas. was.emplaced into the s.me crus.al level as.the older one and TTG magmas.would derive from melting proces.es.in the garnet s.ability field(>40 km depth), we s.gges. that this.evident s.ift in TTG zircon O is.topic compos.tions.records.the ons.t of recycling of the mafic oceanic crus. that underwent s.awater hydrothermal alteration at low temperature. The ons.t of the enhanced recycling of s.pracrus.al materials.may als. have developed els.where in other Archean cratons.and reflects.a s.gnificant change in the tectonic realm during craton formation and s.abilization, which may be important proces.es.for the operation of plate tectonics.on early Earth.
