Innate immune res.ons.s.form the firs. line of defens. agains. foreign ins.lts.and recently s.gnificant advances.have been made in our unders.anding of the initiation of innate immune res.ons. along with its.ability to modulate inflammation. In airway dis.as.s.s.ch as.as.hma, COPD and cys.ic fibros.s. over reacting of the airway innate immune res.ons.s.leads.to cytokine imbalance and airway remodeling or damage. Helper-dependent adenoviral vectors.have the potential to deliver genes.to modulate airway innate immune res.ons.s.and have many advantages.over its.predeces.ors. However, there s.ill are a few limitations.that need to be addres.ed prior to their us. in clinical applications.

Anatomical variation of five plant s.ecies.along an elevation gradient in Mexico City bas.n within the Trans.Mexican Volcanic Belt, Mexico

Change in environmental conditions.with altitudinal gradients.induces.morpho-anatomical variations.in plants.that have been poorly documented in intertropical regions. Five s.ecies.with three life forms. cryptophyte(Alchemilla procumbens. Geranium s.emannii), hemicryptophyte(Acaena elongata, Lupinus.montanus., and phanerophyte(s.mphoricarpos.microphyllus., dis.ributed along an altitudinal gradient in the s.erra Nevada of central Mexico, were s.udied. The aims.were to identify and evaluate their morpho-anatomical modifications.under the hypothes.s.that the s.zes.of individuals.and of their wood and leaf cell types.decreas. as.elevation increas.s. Three individuals.per s.ecies.per s.te were collected at s.ven locations.along the altitudinal gradient(2949-3952 m). Their morpho-anatomical characters.were analyzed through multiple regres.ion analys.s. Elevation was.the variable that bes. explained anatomical changes.in the leaf and wood ofthe five s.ecies. Canopy dens.ty and potas.ium content in the s.il als. contributed to explain the variation in anatomical variables.along the gradient. As.elevation increas.d a bimodal pattern was.obs.rved in various.anatomical characters.as.in the leaf width of A. elongata, A. procumbens.and G. s.emannii and in the ves.el diameter of A. procumbens. G. s.emannii, and L. montanus. Other features.as.the ves.el diameter of A. elongata, the fiber length of s. microphyllus. and the ray width of A. elongata increas.d as.the elevation increas.d. Anatomical traits.have a tendency to decreas. in s.ze but jus. toward the end of the gradient, which is.probably related to changes.in canopy dens.ty. The plant res.ons. to the altitudinal gradient is.more focus.d on anatomical adaptations.than morphological variation; it is.als. s.ecies.dependent.

Effect of rhenium on the micros.ructure and mechanical behavior of Fe–2.25Cr–1.6W–0.25V-0.1C bainitic s.eels

A new ferritic creep res.s.ant s.eel has.been developed by eliminating Nb and adding 1.5 mas. % Re to a ferritic s.eel grade T/P23 with the aim of enhancing its.mechanical properties.at high *** ingots.of both s.eels. new grade and As.M T/P 23, were hot rolled at 900℃ and then s.bmitted to a thermal treatment cons.s.ing of s.lubilization at 1050℃ and tempering at 700℃. Tempered bainitic micros.ructures.obtained contain s.cond phas.s.reinforcing carbide particles. mainly M_6C and M_（23）C_6 at the boundaries.of both, prior aus.enite grains.and bainitic ferrite laths. as.well as.MC within the grains. Mechanical properties.at temperatures.ranging from 540 to 600℃ were s.udied by s.rain-ratechange tes.s.in compres.ion at s.rain rates.between 10^（-7） and 10^（-4）s.（-1）. Thes. tes.s.s.owed high s.res. exponents.n ≥ 20） and activation energies.Q ≈ 400 k J/mol） for both alloys. which were as.ociated with a dis.ocation movement mechanis. with a s.rong interaction between dis.ocations.and precipitates. On the other hand, a creep exponent of 5 was.derived for the s.res. dependence of minimum creep rate from conventional-type creep tes.s.at 600℃. Although this.s.res. exponent is.us.ally related to a dis.ocation climb controlled creep mechanis., remarkable micros.ructural degradation obs.rved with increas.ng creep time makes.difficult to elucidate the true deformation mechanis. controlling creep.

The oxygen evolution reaction(OER)in acid s.lution is.a s.gnificant challenge for non-precious.metal electrocatalys.s.bas.d on the trans.tion metals.although they have s.own good OER performance in alkaline *** this.s.udy,we s.nthes.zed the electrocatalys.s.containing two or three Co s.ecies.Co,CoO and Co3O4)nanoparticles.on porous.graphitic carbon(PGC)nanos.eets.which were prepared by a facile and low-cos. s.nthes.s.where Co(NO3)2•6H2O and glucos. were pyrolyzed in the pres.nce of s.dium chloride *** Co3O4-dominated catalys. as.prepared,Co3O4/PGC,is.OER active in acid s.lution(1.74 V at a current dens.ty of 10 mA cm^−2).We identified the OER active s.tes.in the catalys. to be the Co3O4 nanoparticles.rather than carbon-coated *** comparative s.udies.of the varied catalys.s.we als. proved that Co3O4 is.catalytically more active than Co and *** Co3O4/PGC catalys.,however,los. almos. of all its.activity after 100 voltammetric cycles.in the 1.2-1.8 V voltage *** the catalys. s.ability was.examined potentios.atically at different potentials.the catalys. s.owed good s.ability at 1.4 *** s.ability s.udy als. revealed the mechanis. of the catalys. ins.ability in acid was.caus.d by Co3O4 reduction below 1.4 V and by Co3O4 oxidation above 1.4 V.1.4 V is.therefore a unique potential where Co3O4 nanoparticles.are neither oxidized nor reduced to be s.s.eptible to acid dis.olution.
