Magnesium(Mg)alloys for metal electroplating require a surface pretreatment,i.e.,the removal of the spontaneously oxidized surface layer(MgO,Mg(OH)_(2),andMgCO_(3)).However,the use of highly toxic and/or corrosive acids in conventional pretreatment processes has become an *** this study,a facile and less toxic pretreatment is demonstrated and applied in aluminum(Al)*** immersion of the AZ31 Mg alloy into acetic anhydride(Ac_(2)O)removed the spontaneously oxidized surface layer and formed a thin but stable magnesium acetate(Mg(OAc)_(2))layer that protects the metal substrate from further *** Al electroplating bath is a concentrated diglyme(G2)-AlCl_(3)organic solution that can readily dissolve Mg(OAc)_(2)to enable direct plating onto a metal *** as-deposited Al layer has a compact and crack-free morphology that improves the corrosion resistance and hardness(2.7 GPa).Owing to the lack of an interfacial oxidized layer,heat treatment led to the successful diff usion of Mg and Al atoms,which increased the hardness to 4.4 *** Ac_(2)O pretreatment of Mg alloys enables the successful Al electroplating and subsequent heat treatment.

The physicochemical properties of a specific ionic liquid(IL)are naturally considered to be constant at a given ***,a series of eutectic melts of trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium chloride([P6,6,6,14]Cl)with aluminum chloride(AlCl3)is an *** viscosity of Al_(2)Cl_(7)−-dominated[P6,6,6,14]Cl–AlCl_(3)ILs(i.e.,AlCl_(3)mole fraction x=0.60–0.67)gradually increased as a function of *** also influenced the ultraviolet–visible spectra,nuclear magnetic resonance spectra,and the glass transition temperature of the *** annealing-induced variations in physicochemical properties were not observed in the AlCl4−-and Cl−-dominated *** particular,the ionic conductivities of the ILs(x=0.60–0.67)were strongly decoupled from their viscosities during *** initio calculations revealed the bending of the long tetradecyl chains in[P6,6,6,14]+coupled with Al_(2)Cl_(7)−,while neither Cl−nor AlCl_(4)−caused *** general,[P6,6,6,14]+-based ILs are recognized as sponge-like structures that consist of nano-scale polar and non-polar *** propose a gradual structurization process in Al_(2)Cl_(7)−-dominated ILs to account for their unusual physicochemical ***,the addition of tetradecane,solvated in the non-polar domains of the ILs,substantially reduced the viscosity of the structured IL with x=*** Al electroplating is possible without a brightener,using the x=0.67 ILs,regardless of annealing or the admixture of tetradecane.

The main interest in the current study focuses on the possibility of overspeeding for the gas-generator cycle air turbo ramjet(GG-ATR)*** authors developed the air turbo ramjet engine and investigated its compressor *** on those data,the authors developed the analytical code for the air turbo ramjet engine,which calculates the performances of turbomachinery,gas-generator,and ram *** previous study described that the rotor overspeeding would not occur in the air turbo rocket ***,the current results show that degraded ram combustion can decrease the compressor pressure ratio and the compressor *** reduced compressor power can cause overspeeding for the air turbo ramjet *** experimental results of compressor power and turbine inlet pressure support those analytical results.

Efficacy of ripasudil in reducing intraocular pressure and medication score for ocular hypertension with inflammation and corticosteroid

·AIM:To investigate the efficacy of ripasudil,a Rho kinase inhibitor,in reducing intraocular pressure(IOP)and medication scores of anti-glaucoma drugs in patients with ocular hypertension with inflammation and corticosteroid.·METHODS:The study included 11 patients diagnosed with ocular hypertension with inflammation and corticosteroid,all of whom were prescribed ripasudil eye drops and followed up for at least 2y after the initiation of *** was measured using a non-contact tonometer before enrollment and at each follow-up *** medication score of glaucoma eye drops was calculated for each patient.·RESULTS:The mean IOP(26.4±2.9 mm Hg before treatment)significantly decreased after ripasudil therapy(13.7±3.3 mm Hg at 3mo)and remained stable in the low-teens during the 2-year follow-up period(P<0.0001).A significant decrease in the medication score was observed at 12mo or later after the initiation of ripasudil therapy(P<0.05).Both baseline medication scores and glaucomatous optic disc change rates were significantly higher in the five eyes that required glaucoma surgery during the 2-year observation period than the 10 eyes that did not require surgery.·CONCLUSION:Our results demonstrate the efficacy of ripasudil,in reducing IOP and the medication score over a 2-year treatment period in patients with ocular hypertension with inflammation and *** findings also suggest that ripasudil could reduce the IOP in uveitic glaucoma patients with both lower baseline medication score and lower glaucomatous optic disc change rate.

This paper presents our recent progress for the development of low-loss Bi2223/Ag tapes with interfilamentary oxide *** the compatibility with Bi2223 superconductors,SrZrO3was selected as barrier ***,small amount of Bi2212 was mixed with SrZrO3to improve its ductility for cold *** controlling the thickness of barrier layers among the filaments,reducing the tape width（<3 mm）and twisting the filaments tightly（<5 mm in twist pitch lengths）,coupling frequency fcexceeded 250 Hz even in an AC perpendicular field at *** Jcof the barrier tapes with tightly twisted filaments was in the range of 12-15 kA/cm2at 77 K and *** 50 mT and 50 Hz,the twisted barrier tapes showed 60%-70%lower perpendicular field losses than the conventional 4 mm-width tape with fully coupled filaments.

We evaluated the antitumor effect of combined therapy with tegafur/uracil （UFT） plus leucovorin （LV）（UFT/LV） and protein-bound polysaccharide, PSK, in three mouse models of transplantable tumors. UFT/LV showed antitumor effect against Meth A sarcoma, and the antitumor effect was enhanced when PSK given concomitantly. UFT/LV showed antitumor effect to Lewis lung carcinoma and PSK alone also showed antitumor effect at high dose, but a combination of UFT/LV and PSK resulted in no enhanced antitumor effect. Colon 26 carcinoma was weakly responsive to UFT/LV, and no enhancement of antitumor effect was found even PSK was used in combination. In conclusion, while the effect of PSK varies depending on tumor, combined use of UFT/LV and PSK may be expected to augment the antitumor effect.
