The Water Erosion Prediction Project(WEPP)model code was modified extensively to support the simulation of nonpoint source(NPs)pollutant sourcing and transport in nonuniform hillslopes based on NPs science from the soil and Water Assessment Tool(sWAT).This was accomplished utilizing WEPP's overland flow element(OFE)in place of sWAT's hydrologic response unit(HRU)construct which enabled more physically plausible routing within a *** addition,several improvements to the NPs code base were *** include:free-source format,modern-Fortran conventions,minor enhancements to NPs model science,and code *** manuscript documents all model development activities,presents a comparison of relevant WEPP and WEPP-WQ code bases,and performs a local sensitivity analysis of the final model code for the most important input parameters and *** results indicated that the model performed as expected according to its design and provided important insights for potential subsequent validation studies.

The cultivated petunia(Petunia×hybrida)is derived from the progenitor species *** and *** hybridization dates back only to the 1830s,though intensive breeding efforts have yielded cultivars exhibiting incredible diversity for many traits,including growth habit,flower color,and flower *** now,little is known about the genetic diversity and genomic background of modern *** we selected a panel of 13 cultivars with contrasting growth habits and three wild species(the progenitors and ***)to estimate the genomic contribution from the ancestral species and to study whether the variation of the genetic origin could be associated with different breeding programs or morphological *** sequencing identified 1,164,566 sNPs representing 98.4%(32,451)of the transcripts that cover 99.2%(of 52,697,361 bp)of the *** *** with an upright growth habit had more homozygous alleles and more ***-derived alleles than trailing cultivars,while mounded cultivars had intermediate *** previous studies,we found the proportions of alleles derived from each progenitor species varied across cultivars but overall were not biased toward one progenitor species,suggesting diverse selection during cultivar *** trailing cultivars,alleles potentially introgressed from other wild species(“out”alleles)were ***“out”alleles were clustered in particular regions of chromosomes,suggesting that these regions may be hotspots of *** in these regions were enriched with gene ontology terms associated with growth *** study provides novel insight into the contributions of progenitor species to the genomic background of modern petunia cultivars and identifies genome regions that may harbor genes conferring the trailing growth habit for further exploration.

Hydroelectric facilities impact water temperature; low velocities in a reservoir increase residence time and enhance heat exchange in surface layers. In this study, an unsteady three-dimensional model was developed to predict the temperatm＇e dynamics in the McNary Dam forebay. The model is based on the open-source code OpenFOAM. RANs equations with the Boussinesq approximation were used to solve the flow field. A： realizable k-ε model that accounts for the production of wind turbulence was developed. solar radiation and convective heat transfer at the free surface were included. The result of the model was compared with the field data collected on August 18, 2004. Changes in diurnal stratification were adequately predicted by the model. Observed vertical and lateral temperature distributions were accurately captured. Results indicate that the model can be used as a numerical tool to assess structural and operational alternatives to reduce the forebay temperature.

The geospatial distribution pattern in traditional Chinese settlements(TCss)reflects the traditional harmony between humans and nature,which has been learned over ***,TCss have experienced serious disturbances by urbanization and *** is crucial to explore the local wisdom of geospatial patterns and dominant factors for TCss at the national scale in *** study sought to determine the geospatial wisdom of traditional settlements to enrich our future settlement development with the aim of establishing Chinese settlement values for modern ***,a dataset of 4000 TCss were analyzed and clustered for environmental factors that affect their geospatial patterns by machine learning *** concluded that(1)five geospatial patterns of TCss were clustered on a national scale,and the threshold of environmental factors of TCs groups was detected.(2)Environmental conditions and settlement concepts interacted and determined the similarities and differences among TCs groups.(3)The key boundary for TCss and the dominant factors for each zone were determined,and topographical conditions and hydrologic resources played significant roles in all five TCs *** study provides a better understanding of the adaptability of the environment in relation to the TCss and aids in planning TCs conservation and rural revitalization.

Finite Element Exterior Calculus (FEEC) was developed by Arnold, Falk, Winther andothers over the last decade to exploit the observation that mixed variational problems canbe posed on a Hilbert complex, and Galerkin-type mixed methods can then be obtained bysolving finite-dimensional subcomplex problems. Chen, Holst, and Xu (Math. Comp. 78(2009) 35–53) established convergence and optimality of an adaptive mixed finite elementmethod using Raviart–Thomas or Brezzi–Douglas–Marini elements for Poisson’s equationon contractible domains in R^2, which can be viewed as a boundary problem on the deRham complex. Recently Demlow and Hirani (Found. Math. Comput. 14 (2014) 1337–1371) developed fundamental tools for a posteriori analysis on the de Rham *** this paper, we use tools in FEEC to construct convergence and complexity resultson domains with general topology and spatial dimension. In particular, we construct areliable and efficient error estimator and a sharper quasi-orthogonality result using a noveltechnique. Without marking for data oscillation, our adaptive method is a contractionwith respect to a total error incorporating the error estimator and data oscillation.

Applying the socio-Ecological Model to barriers to implementation of ACL injury prevention programs: A systematic review

Background: Preventing anterior cruciate ligament(ACL) injuries is important to avoid long-term adverse health consequences. Identifying barriers to implementation of these prevention programs is crucial to reducing the incidence of these injuries. Our purpose was to identify barriers of implementation for ACL injury prevention programs and suggest mechanisms for reducing the barriers through application of a socioEcological Model(sEM).Methods: studies investigating ACL prevention program effectiveness were searched in Medline via PubMed and the Cochrane Library, and a subsequent review of the references of the identified articles, yielded 15 articles total. Inclusion criteria encompassed prospective controlled trials, published in English, with ACL injuries as the primary outcome. studies were independently appraised by 2 reviewers for methodological quality using the PEDro scale. Barriers to implementation were identified when reported in at least 2 separate studies. A sEM was used to suggest ways to reduce the identified ***: Five barriers were identified: motivation, time requirements, skill requirements for program facilitators, compliance, and cost. The sEM suggested ways to minimize the barriers at all levels of the model from the individual through policy ***: Identification of barriers to program implementation and suggesting how to reduce them through the sEM is a critical first step toward enabling ACL prevention programs to be more effective and ultimately reducing the incidence of these injuries.

Augmented reality assisted surgery： a urologic training tool

Augmented reality is widely used in aeronautics and is a developing concept within surgery. In this pilot study, we developed an application for use on Google Glass optical head-mounted display to train urology residents in how to place an inflatable penile prosthesis. We use the phrase Augmented Reality Assisted surgery to describe this novel application of augmented reality in the setting of surgery. The application demonstrates the steps of the surgical procedure of inflatable penile prosthesis placement. It also contains software that allows for detection of interest points using a camera feed from the optical head-mounted display to enable faculty to interact with residents during placement of the penile prosthesis. Urology trainees and faculty who volunteered to take part in the study were given time to experience the technology in the operative or perioperative setting and asked to complete a feedback survey. From 30 total participants using a lO-point scale, educational usefulness was rated 8.6, ease of navigation was rated 7.6, likelihood to use was rated 7.4, and distraction in operating room was rated 4.9. When stratified between trainees and faculty, trainees found the technology more educationally useful, and less distracting. Overall, 81% of the participants want this technology in their residency program, and 93% see this technology in the operating room in the future. Further development of this technology is warranted before full release, and further studies are necessary to better characterize the effectiveness of Augmented Reality Assisted surgery in urologic surgical training.
