Clostridioides difficile(***)is the most common pathogen causing health care-associated *** tcdA and tcdB have been shown to activate enteric neurons;however,what population of these cells is more profoundly influenced and the mechanism underlying these effects remain *** to characterize a specific population of tcdA-affected myenteric neurons and investigate the role of the P2X7 receptor in tcdA-induced ileal inflammation,cell death,and the changes in the enteric nervous system in *** swiss mice were used to model tcdA-induced ileitis in ileal loops exposed to tcdA(50μg/Loop)for 4 *** investigate the role of the P2X7 receptor,Brilliant Blue G(50 mg/kg,i.p.),which is a nonspecific P2X7 receptor antagonist,or A438079(0.7μg/mouse,i.p.),which is a competitive P2X7 receptor antagonist,were injected one hour prior to tcdA *** samples were collected to analyze the expression of the P2X7 receptor(by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry),the population of myenteric enteric neurons(immunofluorescence),histological damage,intestinal inflammation,cell death(terminal deoxynucleotidyltransferasemediated dUtP-biotin nick end labeling),neuronal loss,and s100B synthesis(immunohistochemistry).REsULts tcdA upregulated(Pthe expression of the P2X7 receptor gene in the ileal tissues,increasing the level of this receptor in myenteric neurons compared to that in control *** with the control mice indicated that tcdA promoted(Pthe loss of myenteric calretinin+(Calr)and choline acetyltransferase+neurons and increased the number of nitrergic+and Calr+neurons expressing the P2X7 *** of the P2X7 receptor decreased tcdAinduced intestinal damage,cytokine release[interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6,IL-8,and tumor necrosis factor-α],cell death,enteric neuron loss,and s100B synthesis in the mouse *** Our findings demonstrated that tcdA induced the upregulation of the P

the paper studies the dispersion of axisymmetric longitudinal waves in the bi-material compound circular cylinder made of linear viscoelastic *** investigations are carried out within the scope of the piecewise homogeneous body model by utilizing the exact equations of linear *** corresponding dispersion equation is derived for an arbitrary type of hereditary operator and the algorithm is developed for its numerical *** numerical results are obtained for the case where the relations of the constituents of the cylinder are described through fractional exponential *** influence of the viscosity of the materials of the compound cylinder on the wave dispersion is studied through the rheological parameters which indicate the characteristic creep time and long-term values of the elastic constants of these *** curves are presented for certain selected dispersive and non-dispersive attenuation cases under various values of the problem parameters and the influence of the aforementioned rheological parameters on these curves is *** a result of the numerical investigations,in particular,it is established that in the case where the rheological parameters of the components of the compound cylinder are the same,the viscosity of the layers’materials causes the axisymmetric wave propagation velocity to decrease.

the fourth fundamental circuit element memristor completes the missing link between charge and mag- netic flux. It consists of the function of the resistor as well as memory in nonlinear fashion. the property of the memristor depends on the magnitude and direction of applied potential. this unique property makes it the primi- tive building block for many applications such as resistive memories, soft computing, neuromorphic systems and chaotic circuits etc. In this paper we report tiO2-based nanostructured memristor modelling. the present memris- tor model is constructed in MAtLAB environment with consideration of the linear drift model of memristor. the result obtained from the linear drift model is well matched with earlier reported results by other research groups.

the boundary layer flow of a Casson fluid due to a stretching cylinder is discussed in the presence of nanoparticles and thermal radiation. All physical properties of the Casson fluid except the thermal conductivity are taken constant. Appropriate transformations yield the nonlinear ordinary differential systems. Convergent series solutions are developed and analyzed. the numerical results for the local Nusselt and sherwood numbers are demonstrated. It is found that an increase in the strength of the Brownian motion decays the temperature noticeably. However, the rate of heat transfer and the concentration of the nanoparticles at the surface increase for larger Brownian motion parameters.

BACKGROUND: Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis (XGC) is a destructive inflammatory disease of the gallbladder that can mimic gallbladder carcinoma. MEtHODs: We present the case of a 35-year-old Hispanic male complaining of right upper quadrant pain and jaundice for 2 months prior to admission. He denied a history of fever, nausea/ vomiting, and weight loss. the past medical history was relevant only for diabetes. He had no previous history of jaundice or previous operations. REsULts: CA19-9 was slightly elevated (52 U/mL). Abdominal ultrasonography showed an irregular thickening of the gallbladder wall and no gallstones were detected. Ct scan also revealed an irregular thickening of the wall of the gallbladder body suggestive of malignancy. At laparotomy, the mass was adherent to the duodenum and colon, and although the frozen section biopsy was negative, the intraoperative findings were suggestive of malignancy, and the patient underwent left liver trisegmentectomy, resection of the common bile duct and Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy. Pathological examination unexpectedly revealed XGC without malignancy. CONCLUsIONs: Preoperative and intraoperative differential diagnosis of XGC from gallbladder carcinoma remains a challenge when it is associated with inflammatory involvement of surrounding tissues. since gallbladder carcinoma and XGC may coexist, radical resection is justified when malignancy cannot be completely ruled out.

the steady flow and heat transfer of a couple stress fluid due to an inclined stretching cylinder are analyzed. the thermal conductivity is assumed to be temperature dependent. the governing equations for the flow and heat transfer are transformed into ordinary differential equations. series solutions of the resulting problem are computed. the effects of various interested parameters, e.g., the couple stress parameter, the angle of inclination, the mixed convection parameter, the Prandtl number, the Reynolds number, the radiation parameter, and the variable thermal conductivity parameter, are illustrated. the skin friction coefficient and the local Nusselt number are computed and analyzed. It is observed that the heat transfer rate at the surface increases while the velocity and the shear stress decrease when the couple stress parameter and the Reynolds number increase. the temperature increases when the Reynolds number increases.

Bake-Hardening Response of High Martensite Dual-Phase steel with Different Morphologies and Volume Fractions

Bake-hardening behaviour of carbon steel with different martensite morphologies and volume fraction was investigated. the specimens with fibrous and bulky martensite were prestrained in tension by 4%. After this, they were unloaded and bake hardened at 180 ℃ for 10-160 min. It was found that dual-phase steel samples which were bake hardened at 180 ℃ for 20 rain showed an increase in the yield stress （Ys） and ultimate tensile stress （Uts） but a decrease in ductility. Further increase in the bake-hardening time of 80 or 160 min has reduced the Ys and Uts, but increased the ductility. △σ （increase in stress due to bake hardening）, Ys and Uts values are higher for the microstructure containing fibrous martensite compared to the microstructure-containing bulky martensite. It was also observed that at a given baking temperature Aa, Ys and Uts increased by volume of martensite.
