Mutation in angiotensin II type 1 receptor disrupts its binding to angiotensin II leading to hypotension： An insight into hydrogen bonding patterns

To understand the role of angiotensin II type 1 receptor gene （AGTR1） gene products in relation to hypotension we have analyzed the single nucleotide polymorphisms （SNPs） associated with this gene. This can help us to understand the genetic variations that can alter the function of the gene products. In this present study, we report the polymorphic variant associated with AGTR1 and its weak interaction with angiotensin II （AngII） which leads to hypotension. Out of 1318 SNPs, six are found to be non-synonymous, of which rs1064533 shows significant damaging effect. A missense mutation （T1255G）, i.e., from thymine to guanine for rs1064533 in AGTR1 gene results in amino acid substitution from cysteine （Cys） to tryptophan （Trp） in the receptor protein. A strong hydrogen bond exists between Cys289 of native AGTR1 protein and glutamine 167 of AngII. Interestingly, it is replaced by a weak hydrogen bond in the mutant protein between Trp289 （mutant residue） and serine 340. Such a substitution from small, hydrophilic to bulky, hydrophobic residue in AGTR1 protein results in reduced binding affinity of the receptor protein with AngII, leading to hypotension. The results presented from this in silico study will open up new prospect for genetic analysis of AGTR1 gene and will be beneficial to the researchers for understanding the role played by AGTR1 gene in hypotension disease.

MicroRNAs （miRNAs） interact with their target mRNAs and regulate biological processes at post-transcriptional level. While one miRNA can target many mRNAs, a single mRNA can also be targeted by a set of miRNAs. The targeted mRNAs may be involved in different biological processes that are described by gene ontology （GO） terms. The major challenges involved in analyzing these multitude regulations include identification of the combinatorial regulation of miRNAs as well as determination of the co-functionally-enriched miRNA pairs. The C2Analyzer： Co- target Co-function Analyzer, is a Perl-based, versatile and user-friendly web tool with online instructions. Based on the hypergeometric analysis, this novel tool can determine whether given pairs of miRNAs are co-functionally enriched. For a given set of GO term（s）, it can also identify the set of miRNAs whose targets are enriched in the given GO term（s）. Moreover, C2Analyzer can also identify the co-targeting miRNA pairs, their targets and GO processes, which they are involved in. The miRNA miRNA co-functional relationship can also be saved as a .txt file, which can be used to further visualize the co-functional network by using other software like Cytoscape. C2Analyzer is freely available at ***/c2analyzer.

Dissimilar joints(DSJs)of ferrous and non-ferrous metals have huge technological importance in the frontiers of newdesigns in new machineries and improved design of conventional *** investigation was undertaken to improve mechanicalproperties of joints of two dissimilar metals:one is Ti-based and the other is *** were processed using bonding pressurefrom1to9MPa in step of2MPa at750°C *** of the DSJs of these two metals using different mechanisms andmethods were compared with the present research for *** results from the diffusion bonding mechanism forjoining the dissimilar metals validated the improvement in *** mechanical properties of dissimilar-metals joints wereachieved mainly due to the third non-ferrous metallic foil,Ni of^200-?m thickness,which avoided the formation of brittleFe-Ti-based intermetallics in the diffusion *** processed are able to achieve maximum strength of^560MPa along withsubstantial ductility of^11.9%,which is the best ever reported in the literatures so *** hardening effect was detected in theDSJs when the bonding was processed at5MPa and *** ratio of the non-ferrous metal(Ti-based)was much higher thanthat of the ferrous metal(SS)of the DSJs *** analysis was carried out to know the details of reaction zone,while XRDwas carried out to support the SEM *** for change in mechanical,physical,and fracture properties of the DSJs with theprocess parameter variations were clarified.

本文通过约束大地测量研究来探索掸邦高原及其周围地区现今的地壳变形和长期块体运动,以期提供该地区地球动力学和相关地震危险状况的最新状态。掸邦高原在横向上由西侧的萨干(Sagaing)断裂和东侧的红河断裂这两条主要断裂包围。其中,青藏高原地壳的韧性流挤压被认为是该夹层变形单元变形的主要因素。大地测量清楚地表明,萨干断裂和红河断裂段分别具有约18 mm/a和约4~5 mm/a右旋运动走滑速率。此外,掸邦高原内部断层体系大地滑移累积表现为12~13 mm/a的整体左旋运动速率。我们认为相对于刚性巽他古陆,研究区域的形变分布和长期块体运动主要受区域书架型断层作用控制,其原因是掸邦高原两侧的主断裂(萨干断裂和红河断裂)存在差异性断裂活动。

Covalent organic frameworks(COFs) have recently emerged as a new class of ***,integrated design is crucial to maximizing the performance of COF-incorporating photocatalytic ***,we compare two strategies of installing earth-abundant metal-based catalytic centers into the matrice of a 2 D COF named *** to NUS-55(Co)prepared from the post-synthetic metalation of coordination sites within the COF,the molecular co-catalyst impregnated NUS-55/[Co(bpy)3]Cl2 achieves a seven-fold improvement in visible light-driven H2 evolution rate to 2,480 μmol g^-1h^-1,with an apparent quantum efficiency(AQE) of 1.55% at 450 *** results show that the rational design of molecular anchoring sites in COFs for the introduction of catalytic metal sites can be a viable strategy for the development of highly efficient photocatalysts with enhanced stability and photocatalytic activities.

Patterns of tree buttressing at Lawachara National Park, Bangladesh

We describe patterns of buttress formation and development in eleven tree species at Lawachara National Park, Bangladesh. Forty-five percent of trees of these 11 species had buttresses. Artocarpus chaplasha Roxb. showed maximum （87%） buttress formation, whereas Alstonia scholaris （L.） R. Br. did not show any buttress. Buttresses were recorded in 20%-40% of trees of six species and 40%-60% of trees in three species. Mean length and height of buttress varied among the species and ranged from 0.37-4.37 m and 0.71-2.13 m, respectively. Buttress height, mean buttress length, total buttress length, and total length plus length of secondaries increased with DBH （diameter at breast height） and tree height. Buttress number did not increase with DBH or tree height. Under-storey and mid-canopy trees produced less developed buttresses than did emergent trees （p〈0.01）. Wood density showed moderate effects on buttress characters （p〈0.05）, while the slope of the land did not. Canopy category was a primary regulating factor for tree buttressing, suggesting that buttresses are mechanical adaptations of trees to counter physical stresses.

In this paper, we explore the possibility of mapping devices designed in TCAD environment to its modeled version developed in cadence virtuoso environment using a look-up table （LUT） approach. Circuit simu- lation of newly designed devices in TCAD environment is a very slow and tedious process involving complex scripting. Hence, the LUT based modeling approach has been proposed as a faster and easier alternative in ca- dence environment. The LUTs are prepared by extracting data from the device characteristics obtained from device simulation in TCAD. A comparative study is shown between the TCAD simulation and the LUT-based alternative to showcase the accuracy of modeled devices. Finally the look-up table approach is used to evaluate the perform- ance of circuits implemented using 14 nm nMOSFET.

Muse Turned ＂Femme Fatale＂ in D. G. Rossetti＇s Painting and Poetry

In many of D. G. Rossetti＇s paintings, Elizabeth Siddal appears as a model. In real life, they formed a married couple, and the relatonship was not as idealistic as it might have been, between a muse-figure and an artist. After Elizabeth＇s death, Rossetti seemed to have been preoccupied with the ＂Lilith＂ theme in his painting and poetry and somehow he could not free himself from the haunting memory of the ＂wronged wife＂, the muse. This often found manifestation in his portrayal of the ＂femme fatale＂ images. Applying psychoanalysis to art-criticism and literary appreciation, this paper is an attempt to explore the relationship between a model and an artist, which both psychologically and aesthetically, seemed to be working beyond the former＇s death. Through a detailed analysis of the ＂Lilith＂ image in D. G. Rossetti＇s art, this paper has shown the coplexities of the artist＇s agony and anxiety over the image of a muse, a homely beloved--turned into a threatening ＂femme fatale＂, now distant, unknown, frightening yet fascinating, and mystified by death.
