Anomalous magnetic property and broadband photodetection in ultrathin non-layered manganese selenide semiconductor

Two-dimensional(2D)semiconductors with intrinsic ferromagnetism are highly desirable for potential applications in nextgeneration spintronic and optoelectronic ***,controllable synthesis of intrinsic 2D magnetic semiconductor on a substrate is still a challenging ***,large-area 2D non-layered rock salt(α-phase)MnSe nanosheets were grown on mica substrates,with the thickness changing from 54.2 to 0.9 nm(one unit cell),by chemical vapour *** X-ray diffraction,Raman spectroscopy,transmission electron microscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements confirmed that the resulting 2Dα-MnSe nanosheets were obtained as high-quality single *** magnetic hysteresis loops and synchrotron X-ray measurements directly indicated the anomalous magnetic properties inα-MnSe *** analysis of the reasons for magnetic property revealed that the low-temperature phase transition,small number of stacking differences in crystals,and surface weak oxidation in(111)-orientedα-MnSe were the main ***,α-MnSe nanosheets exhibited broadband photoresponse from 457 to 671 nm with an outstanding detectivity and responsivity *** study presents the detailed growth process of ultrathin 2D magnetic semiconductorα-MnSe,and its outstanding magnetic properties and broadband photodetection,which provide an excellent platform for magneto-optical and magneto-optoelectronic research.

Single-wavelength-excited fluorogenic nanoprobe for accurate realtime ratiometric analysis of broad pH fluctuations in mitophagy

Mitophagy has a critical role in maintaining cellular homeostasis through acidic lysosomes engulfing excess or impaired mitochondria,thereby pH fluctuation is one of the most significant indicators for tracking *** such precise pH tracking demands the fluorogenic probe that has tailored contemporaneous features,including mitochondrial-specificity,excellent biocompatibility,wide pH-sensitive range of 8.0–4.0,and especially quantitative ***,available molecular probes cannot simultaneously meet all the requirements since it is extremely difficult to integrate multiple functionalities into a single *** fully address this issue,we herein integrate two fluorogenic pH sensitive units,a mitochondria-specific block,cellpenetrating facilitator,and biocompatible segments into an elegant silica nano scaffold,which greatly ensures the applicability for real-time tracking of pH fluctuations in *** significantly,at a single wavelength excitation,the integrated pHsensitive units have spectra-distinguishable fluorescence towards alkaline and acidic pH in a broad range that covers mitochondrial and lysosomal pH,thus enabling a ratiometric analysis of pH variations during the whole *** work also provides constructive insights into the fabrication of advanced fluorescent nanoprobes for diverse biomedical applications.

Geomagnetic storm events have a strong influence on the ionosphere–thermosphere(I-T)coupling *** the regional response process of the I-T system and its differences across the northern and southern hemispheres is an important but challenging *** this study,we used a combination of multiple observations and a model simulation to examine the north–south hemispheric difference in the I-T coupling system in the American and Asian sectors during the geomagnetic superstorm that occurred in May *** of the total electron content(TEC)showed that the Asian sector had negative storms in the northern hemisphere and positive storms in the southern hemisphere,a process that exacerbated the hemispheric differences in the ***,both hemispheres of the American sector showed negative *** thermospheric composition changes also differed between the two sectors,and their variation could partially explain the hemispheric differences caused by positive and negative ***,the influence of the thermospheric density change was less than that of the thermospheric ***,the dynamic effect of the thermospheric wind and the plasma transport processes strongly modulated the north–south differences in the TEC at nighttime in the American and Asian sectors,respectively,during this superstorm.

This paper presents REE abundance pattern and REE geochemistry of granodiorite porphyry, skarns, as well as late hydrothermal alterations in the Tongshan copper deposit, Guichi County and, in the light of their similarities and variations, deals with the genesis of the skarns and the transformation process of the post-skarn hydrothermal alterations. On such a basis, the inference is drawn that the skarn-forming solution was produced by further fractionation of residual magma, thus belonging to a transitional fluid between residual magma and hydrothermal solution which, with the continuous variation of its components during the metasomatism, tended to become a hydrothermal solution.

Nuclear RNA export into the cytoplasm is one of the key steps in protein expression to realize biological *** the broad availability of nucleic acid dyes,tracking and quantifying the highly dynamic process of RNA export in live cells is *** dye-labeled RNA enters the cytoplasm,the dye molecules are released upon degradation of the RNA,allowing them to re-enter the cell *** a result,the ratio between the dye exported with RNA into the cytoplasm and the portion staying inside the nucleus cannot be *** address this common limitation,we report the design of a smart probe that can only check into the nucleus *** adding to cells,this probe rapidly binds with nuclear RNAs in live cells and reacts with intrinsic H_(2)*** reaction not only activates the fluorescence for RNA tracking but also changes the structure of probe and consequently its intracellular *** disassociating from exported RNAs in cytoplasm,the probe preferentially enters lysosomes rather than cell nucleus,enabling real-time quantitative measurement of nuclear RNA *** this probe,we successfully evaluated the effects of hormones and cancer drugs on nuclear RNA export in live ***,we found that hormones inhibiting RNA exports can partially offset the effect of chemotherapy.

Low-Velocity Impact Response of Stitched Multi-layer Foam Sandwich Composites

Low-velocity impact damage known as“imperceptible”damage usually destroys the structural integrity of the material and seriously affects the service life of the *** improve the low-velocity impact resistance of foam sandwich composites,an innovative concept of a stitched multi-layer sandwich structure by organically combining the discrete splitting of foam layer with full thickness stitching was proposed,and its low-velocity impact resistance obtained through drop-hammer impact tests was *** results showed that the multi-layer foam sandwich structure acted as a stress disperser and reduced the irreversible impact *** depth and area of low-velocity impact damage of multi-layer foam sandwich composites gradually decreased with increasing the number of the *** stitched structure would improve the integrity of the foam sandwich composites and inhibit the propagation of *** maximum impact load of the stitched foam sandwich composite increased by approximately 5% compared with that of the non-stitched *** addition,the low-velocity impact damage depth,damage area and absorbed energy of the stitched three-layer foam sandwich composite were reduced by 37.7%,34.6% and 20.7%,respectively,compared with those of the non-stitched single-layer sandwich material.
