With the emergence of pre-trained models,current neural networks are able to give task performance that is comparable to ***,we know little about the fundamental working mechanism of pre-trained models in which we do not know how they approach such performance and how the task is solved by the *** example,given a task,human learns from easy to hard,whereas the model learns ***,difficulty-insensitive learning leads to great success in natural language processing(NLP),but little attention has been paid to the effect of text difficulty in *** propose a human learning matching index(HLM Index)to investigate the effect of text *** results show:1)LSTM gives more human-like learning behavior than ***,UID-SuperLinear gives the best evaluation of text difficulty among four text difficulty *** nine tasks,some tasks’performance is related to text difficulty,whereas others are not.2)Model trained on easy data performs best in both easy and medium test data,whereas trained on hard data only performs well on hard test data.3)Train the model from easy to hard,leading to quicker convergence.

Objective This study aimed to investigate the potential relationship between urinary metals copper(Cu),arsenic(As),strontium(Sr),barium(Ba),iron(Fe),lead(Pb)and manganese(Mn)and grip *** We used linear regression models,quantile g-computation and Bayesian kernel machine regression(BKMR)to assess the relationship between metals and grip *** In the multimetal linear regression,Cu(β=−2.119),As(β=−1.318),Sr(β=−2.480),Ba(β=0.781),Fe(β=1.130)and Mn(β=−0.404)were significantly correlated with grip strength(Pfunction regression model analysis showed that mixtures of the seven metals had a negative overall effect on grip strength,with Cu,As and Sr being negatively associated with grip strength *** the total population,potential interactions were observed between As and Mn and between Cu and Mn(P_(interactions) of 0.003 and 0.018,respectively).Conclusion In summary,this study suggests that combined exposure to metal mixtures is negatively associated with grip ***,Sr and As were negatively correlated with grip strength levels,and there were potential interactions between As and Mn and between Cu and Mn.

BACKGROUND Complex and high-risk surgical complications pose pressing challenges in the clinical implementation and advancement of endoscopic full-thickness resection(EFTR).Successful perforation repair under endoscopy,thereby avoiding surgical intervention and postoperative complications such as peritonitis,are pivotal for effective *** To investigate the effectiveness and safety of EFTR assisted by distal serosal inversion under floss traction in gastric submucosal *** A retrospective analysis of patients with gastric and duodenal submucosal tumors treated with EFTR assisted by the distal serosa inversion under dental floss traction from January 2023 to January 2024 was *** total operation time,tumor dissection time,wound closure time,intraoperative bleeding volume,length of hospital stay and incidence of complications were *** There were 93 patients,aged 55.1±12.1 *** tumor resection was achieved in all cases,resulting in a 100% success *** average total operation time was 67.4±27.0 min,with tumor dissection taking 43.6±20.4 *** closure times varied,with gastric body closure time of 24.5±14.1 min and gastric fundus closure time of 16.6±8.7 min,showing a significant difference(P<0.05).Intraoperative blood loss was 2.3±4.0 mL,and average length of hospital stay was 5.7±1.9 *** was no secondary perforation after suturing in all *** incidence of delayed bleeding was 2.2%,and the incidence of abdominal infection was 3.2%.No patient required other surgical intervention during and after the *** Distal serosal inversion under dental-floss-assisted EFTR significantly reduced wound closure time and intraoperative blood loss,making it a viable approach for gastric submucosal tumors.

The Chinese tree shrew(Tupaia belangeri chinensis)has emerged as a promising model for investigating adrenal steroid synthesis,but it is unclear whether the same cells produce steroid hormones and whether their production is regulated in the same way as in ***,we comprehensively mapped the cell types and pathways of steroid metabolism in the adrenal gland of Chinese tree shrews using single-cell RNA sequencing,spatial transcriptome analysis,mass spectrometry,and *** compared the transcriptomes of various adrenal cell types across tree shrews,humans,macaques,and *** showed that tree shrew adrenal glands expressed many of the same key enzymes for steroid synthesis as humans,including CYP11B2,CYP11B1,CYB5A,and *** analysis confirmed the production of aldosterone,cortisol,and dehydroepiandrosterone but not dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate in the tree shrew adrenal ***,genes in adrenal cell types in tree shrews were correlated with genetic risk factors for polycystic ovary syndrome,primary aldosteronism,hypertension,and related disorders in humans based on genome-wide association ***,this study suggests that the adrenal glands of Chinese tree shrews may consist of closely related cell populations with functional similarity to those of the human adrenal *** comprehensive results(publicly available at http://***:16245/scAGMap/)should facilitate the advancement of this animal model for the investigation of adrenal gland disorders.

A language-independent neural network for event detection

Event detection remains a challenge because of the difficulty of encoding the word semantics in various contexts. Previous approaches have heavily depended on language-specific knowledge and preexisting natural language processing tools. However, not all languages have such resources and tools available compared with English language. A more promising approach is to automatically learn effective features from data, without relying on language-specific resources. In this study, we develop a language-independent neural network to capture both sequence and chunk information from specific contexts and use them to train an event detector for multiple languages without any manually encoded features. Experiments show that our approach can achieve robust, efficient and accurate results for various languages. In the ACE 2005 English event detection task, our approach achieved a 73.4% F-score with an average of 3.0% absolute improvement compared with state-of-the-art. Additionally, our experimental results are competitive for Chinese and Spanish.

Sentiment collocation refers to the collocation of a target word and a polarity word. Sentiment collocation extraction aims to extract the targets and their modifying polarity words by analyzing the relationships between them. This can be regarded as a basic sentiment analysis task and is relevant in many practical applications. Previous studies relied mainly on the syntactic path, which is used to connect the target word and the polarity word. To deeply exploit the semantic information of the syntactic path, we propose two types of syntactic representation, namely, relation embedding and subtree embedding, to capture the latent semantic features. Relation embedding is used to represent the latent semantics between targets and their corresponding polarity words, and subtree embedding is used to explore the rich syntactic information for each word on the path. To combine the two types of syntactic representations, a neural network is constructed. We use a recursive neural network(RNN) to model the subtree embeddings, and then the subtree embedding and the word embedding are combined as the enhanced word representation for each word in the syntactic path. Finally,a convolutional neural network(CNN) is adopted to integrate the two types of syntactic representations to extract the sentiment collocations from reviews. Our experiments were conducted on six types of reviews, which included product domains(such as cameras and phones) and service domains(such as hotels and restaurants).The experimental results show that our proposed method can accurately capture the latent semantic features hidden behind the syntactic paths that neither the common feature-based methods nor the syntactic-path-based method can handle, and, further, that it significantly outperforms numerous baselines and previous methods.

Existing studies on hierarchy construction mainly focus on text corpora and indiscriminately mix numerous top- ics, thus increasing the possibility of knowledge acquisition bottlenecks and misconceptions. To address these problems and provide a comprehensive and in-depth representation of domain specific topics, we propose a novel topic hierar- chy construction method with real-time update. This method combines heterogeneous evidence from multiple sources in- cluding folksonomy and encyclopedia, separately in both ini- tial topic hierarchy construction and topic hierarchy improve- ment. Results of comprehensive experiments indicate that the proposed method significantly outperforms state-of-the- art methods （t-test, p-value 〈 0.000 1）; recall has particularly improved by 20.4% to 38.7%.
