Numerical Calculation and Experimental Research on Residual Stresses in Precipitation-hardening Layer of NAK80 Steel for Shot Peening

Shot peening can improve fatigue strength of materials by creating compressive residual stress field in their surface layers,and offers a protection against crack initiation and propagation,corrosion,*** fatigue fracture and stress corrosion cracking of NAK80 steel parts are improved *** there lacks in-depth research in which the beneficial effect of the residual stress may be offset by the surface damage associated with shot peening,especially in terms of the research on the effective control of shot peening *** order to obtain the surface residual stress field of NAK80 steel after shot peening,the samples are shot peened by pneumatic shot peening machine with different *** residual stress in the precipitation-hardening layer of NAK80 steel is measured before and after a shot peening treatment by X-ray diffraction *** order to obtain true residual stress field,integral compensation method is used to correct *** setting up analytical model of the residual stress in the process of shot peening,the surface residual stress is calculated after shot peening,and mentioning the reason of errors occurred between calculated and experimental residual stresses,which is mainly caused by the measurement error of the shoot arc *** the same time,micro hardness,microstructure and roughness in the precipitation-hardening layer of NAK80 steel before and after shot peening were measured and surveyed in order to obtain the relation between shot peening strength and surface quality in the precipitation-hardening *** results show that the surface quality of NAK80 steel is significantly improved by shot peening *** over peening effect is produced when the shot peening intensity is too high,it is disadvantageous to improve sample＇s surface integrity,and leading to reduce the fatigue *** arc high value of optimal shot peening is 0.40 mm,the surface quality is the best,and the depth of residual stress in the precipit

Current agronomic improving treatments for soil salinization are faced with challenges of heavy workload,high cost,etc.,which may seriously restrict agricultural productivity and sustainability on a large *** has been applied to loosen soil and enhance soil *** this research,aiming to realize vertically aerating,an aerator with a five-bar aerating mechanism was proposed to improve the aerating performance for saline-alkali *** five-bar structure of aerating mechanism was designed based on analysis of the aerator on saline-alkali *** kinematic model was established to describe the aerating process,and the key parameters of the aerating mechanism were obtained by satisfying the motion trajectory ***,the related parameters were optimized by a simulated annealing ***,numerical modeling was simulated to verify the perpendicularity performance after aerating head hitting into the *** simulation results indicated that the optimized five-bar aerating mechanism could decrease swinging extreme value by 24%compared with the initial ***,the physical prototype of the aerator was tested in the field and performed as expected,producing<7 mm depth tolerances and<3.3°angle tolerances,which met the design requirement.

Overview of biomass pretreatment for cellulosic ethanol production

Bioconversion of lignocellulosic biomass to ethanol is significantly hindered by the structural and chemical complexity of biomass,which makes these materials a challenge to be used as feedstocks for cellulosic ethanol *** and hemicellulose,when hydrolyzed into their component sugars,can be converted into ethanol through well established fermentation ***,sugars necessary for fermentation are trapped inside the crosslinking structure of the ***,pretreatment of biomass is always necessary to remove and/or modify the surrounding matrix of lignin and hemicellulose prior to the enzymatic hydrolysis of the polysaccharides(cellulose and hemicellulose)in the *** refers to a process that converts lignocellulosic biomass from its native form,in which it is recalcitrant to cellulase enzyme systems,into a form for which cellulose hydrolysis is much more *** general,pretreatment methods can be classified into three categories,including physical,chemical,and biological *** subject of this paper emphasizes the biomass pretreatment in preparation for enzymatic hydrolysis and microbial fermentation for cellulosic ethanol *** primarily covers the impact of biomass structural and compositional features on the pretreatment,the characteristics of different pretreatment methods,the pretreatment study status,challenges,and future research targets.

Prediction of methane production performances based on determination of organic components for different vegetable wastes

The rapid development of the economy has led to rapid consumption of fossil fuels,which results in extremely serious environmental *** energy has been accepted as a way to reduce the usage of fossil fuels due to its cleanliness and *** this study,vegetable wastes(VWs),an abundant kind of biomass resource,were treated by anaerobic digestion(AD)to be converted into *** total solids(TS),volatile solids(VS),elemental contents,and organic components of 17 kinds of typical VWs were systematically *** methane production performances were then measured and ranged from 120.1 mL/g VS(for pepper stem)to 377.7 mL/g VS(for bok choy).To easily and quickly predict the methane yields of VWs,a curvilinear relationship between different organic compositions(e.g.,cellulose,hemicellulose,lignin,non-structural carbohydrate,protein,and VFA contents)and methane production was established and proved to be a useful tool for methane *** kinetic models(first-order model,Fitzhugh model,Cone model,modified Gompertz model)were applied to simulate the process of AD,and Cone and modified Gompertz models were shown to describe the AD process *** study will not only provide basic data about the characteristics and methane production of 17 kinds of VWs but also contribute a method for predicting the methane yields of vegetable wastes,which is also valuable in future agro-industrial applications.

Anaerobic digestion of food wastes for biogas production

Five types of food wastes were investigated as feedstock for a potential centralized anaerobic digester system in the area of Sacramento,California to produce biogas *** wastes were from a soup processing plant,a cafeteria,a commercial kitchen,a fish farm,and grease trap collection *** of the food wastes,individually and in mixtures,were conducted at mesophilic(35℃)and thermophilic(50℃)temperatures and at two food to microorganism ratios(F/M)of 0.5 and 1.0,for 28 days.A continuously fed mesophilic single-stage anaerobic digester was evaluated using a mixture of the five food wastes at organic loading rates of 0.5 to 1.0 g VS/L/*** the batch digestion tests,fish and grease trap wastes required longer time to complete the digestion and had higher biogas yields than the other *** continuously-fed digester required the addition of sodium hydroxide to maintain pH at proper levels in the *** of about 2,500 mg CaCO3/L and pH above 7 was maintained by adding 0.2 g NaOH/g *** results of this study indicated that it was necessary to use the chemicals,such as NaOH,to control the pH of the single-stage anaerobic digester treating the food *** commercial applications,the cost of chemicals and proper management of additional salts in the digester effluent need to be carefully considered.

Effects of Strain Rate on Stress Corrosion of S355 Steel in 3.5% NaCl Solutions

The stress corrosion of S355 steel in 3.5% NaCl solution under the different strain rates was analyzed with the slow strain rate test（SSRT）, the stress corrosion cracking（SCC） behaviors of S355 steel under the different strain rates in the solution were investigated, and the fracture morphologies and compositions of corrosion products under the different strain rates were analyzed with scanning electron microscopy（SEM） and energy dispersive spectrometerry（EDS）, respectively. The experimental results show that the SCC sensitivity index is the highest when the strain rate is 2×10-6, and the medium corrosion is the main reason resulting in the highest SCC sensitivity index. The SCC sensitivity index is the least when the strain rate is 5×10-6, and the stress is the main reason resulting in the stress corrosion. The SCC sensitivity index is the middle when the strain rate is 9×10-6, the interaction of stress and medium is the stress corrosion fracture mechanism.

Zfyve16 regulates the proliferation of β-lymphoid cells

Zfyve16 (a.k.a. endofin or endosome-associated FYVE-domain protein), a member of the FYVE-domain protein family, is involved in endosomal trafficking and in TGF-β, BMP, and EGFR signaling. The FYVE protein SARA regulates the TGF-β signaling pathway by recruiting Smad2/3 and accelerating their phosphorylation, thereby altering their susceptibility to TGF-β-mediated T cell suppression. Zfyve16 binds to Smad4 and their binding affects the formation of Smad2/3-Smad4 complex in TGF-β signaling. However, the in vivo function of Zfyve16 remains unknown. In this study, we generated a Zfyve16 knockout mouse strain (Zfyve16KO) and examined its hematopoietic phenotypes and hematopoietic reconstruction ability. The proportion of Tcells in the peripheral blood of Zfyve16KO mice increases compared with that in wild-type mice. This finding is consistent with the role of Zfyve16 in facilitating TGF-β signaling. Unpredictably, B cell proliferation is inhibited in Zfyve16KO mice. The proliferation potential of Zfyve16KO B-lymphoid cells also significantly decreases in vitro. These results suggest that Zfyve16 inhibits the proliferation of T cells, possibly through the TGF-β signaling, but upregulates the proliferation of B-lymphoid cells.

On Translation Strategies of Idioms from the Perspective of Cultural Schema Theory—A Case Study of Jenner's Journey to the West

Idioms, which contain abundant cultural contents and profound truths, are known as one of the features of Chinese. And schemata refer to the knowledge and experience in human brain. The differences of cultural schemata will bring about difficulties and challenges to translation. Through an analysis of the translation strategies in Jenner's Journey to the West, this paper is aimed to find out in different cultural schemata what translation strategies the translator will adopt to activate or adjust the cultural schemata in readers' brain so as to help them solve the problems of cultural factors during their reading.
