Effects of vermiculite on the growth process of submerged macrophyte Vallisneria spiralis and sediment microecological environment

Ecological restoration is one of the hot technologies for the reconstruction of eutrophic lake ecosystems in which the restoration and propagation of submerged plants is the key and difficult step. In this paper, the effect of vermiculite on the growth process of Vallisneria spiralis and sediment microenvironment were investigated, aiming to provide a theoretical basis for the application of vermiculite in aquatic ecological restoration. Results of growth indexes demonstrated that 5% and 10% vermiculite treatment groups statistically promote the growth of Vallisneria spiralis compared to the control. Meanwhile, the results of ecophysiological indexes showed that photosynthetic pigment, soluble sugar content, superoxide dismutase(SOD), and catalase(CAT) activity of 5% and 10% group were increased compared with the control while the malondialdehyde(MDA) content exhibited the opposite result(p tance of plants and delay the aging process of Vallisneria spiralis. In addition, result of PCA(Principal Component Analysis) demonstrated 5% and 10% group has improved the sediment physical conditions and create more ecological niche for microorganisms directly, and then promoted the growth of plants. The dissolution results showed that vermiculite can dissolve the constant and trace elements needed for plant growth. Furthermore, the addition of vermiculite increased the diversity of microorganisms in the sediments, and promoted the increase of plant growth-promoting bacteria and phosphorus-degrading bacteria. This study could provide a technique reference for the further application of vermiculite in the field of ecological restoration.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the relationship between the efficacy of realgar for the treatment of myelodysplastic syndromes with multilineage dysplasia(MDS-MLD)and arsenic concentration in the peripheral blood of ***:In this prospective study,a total of 50 MDS-MLD patients were treated with traditional Chinese drugs containing realgar for 3 months in Xiyuan Hospital from March 2018 to January *** blood examination as well as liver and kidney function were monitored before and after *** concentration of arsenic in the peripheral blood was measured using an atomic fluorescence spectrometer after *** correlation between clinical effect and arsenic concentration was analyzed by Spearman’s ***:The treatment response rate was 54%.Two patients(4%)achieved complete remission,50%(25 of 50)showed hematologic improvement,and 23 patients had stable disease(23%).No disease progression was *** concentration in the peripheral blood ranged from 14.60 to 85.96μg/*** efficacy was positively correlated with arsenic concentration(P<0.05).The incidence of mild adverse reactions was 16%.CONCLUSION:A relatively high concentration of arsenic in the peripheral blood may improve the clinical efficacy of realgar in MDS-MLD patients.

Accurate tumor targeting,deep penetration and superb retention are still the main pursuit of developing excellent *** achieve these requirements,a stepwise stimuli-responsive strategy was developed through co-administration tumor penetration peptide iRGD with shape-transformable and GSH-responsive SN38-dimer(d-SN38)-loaded nanoparticles(d-SN38@NPs/iRGD).Upon intravenous injection,d-SN38@NPs with high drug loading efficiency(33.92±1.33%)could effectively accumulate and penetrate into the deep region of tumor sites with the assistance of *** gathered nanoparticles simultaneously transformed into nanofibers upon 650 nm laser irradiation at tumor sites so as to promote their retention in the tumor and burst release of reactive oxygen species for photodynamic *** loaded d-SN38 with disulfide bond responded to the high level of GSH in tumor cytoplasm,which consequently resulted in SN38 release and excellent chemo-photodynamic effect on *** vitro,coadministering iRGD with d-SN38@NPs+laser showed higher cellular uptake,apoptosis ratio and multicellular spheroid *** vivo,d-SN38@NPs/iRGD+laser displayed advanced penetration and accumulation in tumor,leading to 60.89%of tumor suppression in 4 T1 tumor-bearing mouse model with a favorable toxicity *** new strategy combining iRGD with structural transformable nanoparticles greatly improves tumor targeting,penetrating and retention,and empowers anticancer efficacy.

OBJECTIVE:To explore whether the regulation of matrix metalloproteinase 9(MMP-9)/tissue inhibitors of MMPs(TIMPs)gene expression through histone acetylation is a possible mechanism by which electroacupuncture(EA)protects blood-brain barrier(BBB)integrity in a middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)rat ***:Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups:the sham group,the MCAO group,the MCAO+EA(MEA)group,and the MCAO+EA+HAT inhibitor(HATi)*** MCAO model was generated by blocking the middle cerebral *** was applied to Baihui(GV20).Samples were collected 1 or 3 d after *** function scores and Evans blue extravasation were employed to evaluate the poststroke *** effect of EA on MMP-9/TIMPs gene expression was assessed by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)and chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP).RESULTS:Our results showed that EA treatment prominently improved neurological function and ameliorated BBB *** RT-qPCR assay showed that EA reduced the expression of MMP-9 and promoted TIMP-2 mRNA expression,but HATi reversed these effects of *** addition,ChIP results revealed that EA decreased the enrichment of H3K9ace/H3K27ace at MMP-9 promoters and notably stimulated the recruitment of H3K9ace/H3K27ace at TIMP-2 ***:EA treatment at Baihui(GV20)regulates the transcription of MMP-9 and TIMP-2 through histone acetylation modification in the acute stage of stroke,which preserves the structural integrity of the BBB in MCAO *** findings suggested that the histone acetylation-mediated transcriptional activity of target genes may be a crucial mechanism of EA treatment in stroke.

This study investigates the variation and prediction of the west China autumn rainfall(WCAR) and their associated atmospheric circulation features, focusing on the transitional stages of onset and demise of the *** from the 45-day hindcast by the National Centers for Environmental Prediction(NCEP) Climate Forecast System version 2(CFSv2) and several observational data sets are used. The onset of WCAR generally occurs at pentad 46 and decays at pentad 56, with heavy rainfall over the northwestern China and moderate rainfall over the south. Before that,southerly wind changes into southeasterly wind, accompanied by a westward expansion and intensification of the western Pacific subtropical high(WPSH), favoring rainfall over west China. On the other hand, during the decay of WCAR, a continental cold high develops and the WPSH weakens and shifts eastward, accompanied by a demise of southwest monsoon flow, leading to decay of rainfall over west China. The CFSv2 generally well captures the variation of WCAR owing to the high skill in capturing the associated atmospheric circulation, despite an overestimation of rainfall. This overestimation occurs at all time leads due to the overestimated low-level southerly wind. The CFSv2 can pinpoint the dates of onset and demise of WCAR at the leads up to 5 days and 40 days, respectively. The lower prediction skill for WCAR onset is due to the unrealistically predicted northerly wind anomaly over the lower branch of the Yangtze River and the underestimated movement of WPSH after lead time of 5 days.

The changes in a selection of extreme climate indices(maximum of daily maximum temperature(TXx),minimum of daily minimum temperature(TNn),annual total precipitation when the daily precipitation exceeds the 95th percentile of wet-day precipitation(very wet days,R95p),and the maximum number of consecutive days with less than 1 mm of precipitation(consecutive dry days,CDD))were projected using multi-model results from phase 5 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project in the early,middle,and latter parts of the 21st century under different Representative Concentration Pathway(RCP)emissions *** results suggest that TXx and TNn will increase in the future and,moreover,the increases of TNn under all RCPs are larger than those of TXx.R95p is projected to increase and CDD to decrease *** changes in TXx,TNn,R95p,and CDD in eight sub-regions of China are different in the three periods of the 21st century,and the ranges of change for the four indices under the higher emissions scenario are projected to be larger than those under the lower emissions *** multi-model simulations show remarkable consistency in their projection of the extreme temperature indices,but poor consistency with respect to the extreme precipitation *** substantial inconsistency is found in those regions where high and low temperatures are likely to happen for TXx and TNn,*** extreme precipitation events(R95p),greater uncertainty appears in most of the southern regions,while for drought events(CDD)it appears in the basins of *** uncertainty in the future changes of the extreme climate indices increases with the increasing severity of the emissions scenario.

ATP citrate lyase(ACLY)synthesizes cytosolic acetyl coenzyme A(acetyl-CoA),an essential biosynthetic precursor for lipid synthesis and the acetyl donor required for protein *** aberrant expression and activity of ACLY has been documented in multiple human ***-1002 is an indirect ACLY inhibitor,and it has recently been approved by the FDA as an additional therapeutic option in high-risk hypercholesterolemia patients unable to meet goals with standard *** this work,we identified a series of novel long-chain alkenyl diacids as potent direct ACLY inhibitors,and comprehensive structure-activity relationship analysis showed that compound 18f was the most potent ACLY inhibitor with an IC50 value of 1.5μmol/*** ester formation of 18f gave a new series of compounds such as 25f that maintained ACLY inhibitory activity and improved antitumor cell proliferation effects.
