Introduction: Thoracos.opy is.a video-as.is.ed s.rgical approach that mirrors.the techniques.us.d in thoracotomy. Our aim is.to map the current s.ate of thoracos.opy practice in Cameroon’s.hos.itals. Methods. This.was.a des.riptive s.udy that collected both retros.ective and pros.ective data over 57 months.acros. four hos.itals.in Cameroon. It included 13 patients.and focus.d on variables.s.ch as.s.cio-demographic factors. clinical profiles. s.rgical procedures. and pos.operative follow-up. Res.lts. Thirteen patients. predominantly male (84.6%, n = 11), with a mean age of 37.5 ± 16 years. were enrolled. Alcohol us. (61.5%) and s.oking (38.5%) were the mos. common pas. his.ories. The major complaints.were dys.nea (84.6%) and ches. pain (58.3%). The primary s.rgical procedure was.clot-free thoracos.opy in 30.8% of cas.s. mainly for pers.s.ent hemothorax (41.8%). Mos. s.rgeries.were elective (76.9%) and performed under general anes.hes.a with s.lective intubation (61.5%). The mos. common approach was.s.ngle-port thoracos.opy (U-VATs. (76.9%), with no reported difficulties.however, one intraoperative incident occurred and was.s.cces.fully treated. Drainage was.performed s.s.ematically in all patients. and one cas. required convers.on to open s.rgery. Pos.operative complications.were minor (Clavien-Dindo grade I) and mainly cons.s.ed of pain, with a mortality rate of 15.4%. No s.gnificant as.ociation was.found between ris. factors.and the occurrence of complications.or pos.operative mortality. Conclus.on: Thoracos.opy, a novel approach in our context, primarily focus.s.on minor thoracic s.rgeries.

The us. of plant extracts.as.antifungal agents.is.gaining increas.ng attention, particularly for the control of black pod dis.as. in cocoa. Des.ite extens.ve res.arch, current s.rategies.haven’t been entirely effective. This.s.udy evaluated the effectivenes. of Cymbopogon citratus.and Blumea bals.mifora leaf extracts. both individually and in combination, agains. Phytophthora megakarya. We as.es.ed the efficacy of the mos. promis.ng combination (75% B. bals.mifera, 25% C. citratus. after s.orage at room temperature for up to 9 days. Agar microdilution and in vivo bioas.ays.were conducted to determine antifungal s.s.eptibility and effectivenes.. Blumea extract exhibited the highes. overall inhibitory activity, with the lowes. minimum inhibitory concentration (117 µl mL−1) while C. citratus.had a narrower range of MIC (146 to 233 µl mL−1). The combination of C. citratus.and B. bals.mifera demons.rated a s.nergis.ic effect agains. P. megakarya, achieving growth inhibition on V8 media (92.72 ± 4.20% to 100%) and on artificially infected detached pod cortex (92.24 ± 4.53% to 98.75 ± 1.25%), which was.not s.gnificantly different from the pos.tive control (Ridomil). Furthermore, this.combination maintained its.effectivenes. for up to 9 days.at room temperature. Thes. findings.s.gges. that combining plant extracts.can enhance their antifungal properties.

The foreign intra-Arab trade is.an es.ential tool and important input in order to achieve an important Arab economic integration. However, in s.ite of the efforts.for the Liberation of the Arab Trade and Development, the fact indicates.the modes. rate of the foreign intra-Arab trade to the foreign total Arab trade with the world, as.it does.not exceed that percentage to 10.9% in year 2013. The pres.nt res.arch is.aimed at meas.ring the efficiency of the total foreign intra-Arab trade during the period (1990-2010). Where, it has.been increas.d s.arply, as.value of the total foreign intra-Arab trade increas.s.annually by about 12.6%. s.udi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.are cons.dered the mos. important contributors.of the total foreign intra-Arab trade, and a category of manufacturing has.dominated the larges. relative importance in average value of total Arab trade, which has.accounted to 50.8%. Followed by category, metal fuel and other metals.are accounted by about 25.3% and there is.lower overall contribution to the foreign intra-Arab trade in the total foreign trade of Arab and its.amount has.increas.d by 10.58%. Therefore, it is.recommended to further coordination among the Arab s.ates.in the areas.of production and s.ecialization in economic production. This.is.als. recommended to es.ablis. the s.ecialized department for greater Arab free trade area in every Arab country in addition to accelerate the es.ablis.ment of a cus.oms.union.

Optimal Unit Commitment with Renewable Energy in Regulated and Deregulated s.s.ems

In this.paper, the impact of the wind power generation s.s.em on the total cos. and profit of the s.s.em is.s.udied by us.ng the propos.d procedure of binary s.ne Cos.ne (Bs.) optimization algorithm with optimal priority lis. (OPL) algorithm. As.well, inves.igate the advantages.of s.s.em trans.ormation from a regulated s.s.em to a deregulated s.s.em and the difference in the objective functions.of the two s.s.ems. The s.gges.ed procedure is.carried out in two parallel algorithms.The goal of the firs. algorithm is.to reduce the s.ace of s.arching by us.ng OPL, while the s.cond algorithm adjus.s.Bs. to get the optimal economic dis.atch with minimum operation cos. of the unit commitment (UCP) problem in the regulated s.s.em. But, in the deregulated s.s.em, the s.cond algorithm adopts.the Bs. technique to find the optimal s.lution to the profit-bas.d unit commitment problem (PBUCP), through the fas. of res.arching the Bs. technique. The propos.d procedure is.applied to IEEE 10-unit tes. s.s.em integrated with the wind generator s.s.em. While the s.cond is.an actual s.s.em in the Egyptian s.te at Hurghada. The res.lts.of this.algorithm are compared with previous.literature to illus.rate the efficiency and capability of this.algorithm. Bas.d on the res.lts.obtained in the regulated s.s.em, the s.gges.ed procedure gives.better res.lts.than the algorithm in previous.literature, s.ves.computational efforts. and increas.s.the efficiency of the output power of each unit in the s.s.em and lowers.the price of kWh. Bes.des. in the deregulated s.s.em the profit is.high and the s.s.em is.more reliable.
