In this review of ten years of social innovation research(2012e2022),we define and explore three paradigms in the field:instrumentalist,strong,and *** investigate how language usage and geography play a central role in identifying which paradigms recently published scholarship falls *** we do not insist that sharp divisions exist between each paradigm,we do find that on the“instrumentalist”side,language tends to abstract or neutralize power ***,these perspectives tend to derive from Western or Eurocentric orientations or ***“strong”paradigm accepts the necessity of institutional and stakeholder engagement and seeks to engage socially excluded *** contrast,geographical diversity,attendance to historicized and systemic inequalities,and elevation of the most marginalized communities are more likely to be centered in the“democratic”*** apply this discussion to recent research in arts-related social innovation and the related field of social entrepreneurship.

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a metabolic disease, characterized by chronic hyperglycemia. This pathology is linked to various genes whose interaction with the environment promotes its development. The aim of this work was to determine the relationship between the rs2241766 (T/G) polymorphism of the ADIPOQ gene with type 2 diabetes in the black population. Material and Methods: This work was a case-control study, involving type 2 diabetics subjects (n = 94) and controls (n = 82). The study took place from September 2022 to September 2023. Patients were recruited in the Endocrinology Department of the Libreville University Hospital Center. Analysis was performed in the Biochemistry laboratory of the University of Health Sciences in Libreville and at the Research Institute of Health Sciences of Bobodioulasso. Genomic DNA was extracted using the protocol Qiagen kit and the PCR-RFLP method was used to determine the rs2241766 (T/G) polymorphism of the ADIPOQ gene. Results: Only 2 genotypes were found in this population, the TT genotype and the GT genotype. The proportions were not different between the two groups (p = 0.1095) neither the distribution of G and T alleles (p = 0.1095). On the other hand, the HDL hypocholesterolemia was frequent in subjects with the GT genotype compared to TT heterozygous (51.1% vs 48.9%, p = 0.0280;OR = 0.55 [0.30 - 1.01]). Conclusion: There was no association between the rs2241766 (T/G) variant of the ADIPOQ gene and the occurrence of type 2 diabetes in this population. On the other hand, a relationship between HDL hypocholesterolemia and the GT genotype has been established.

This study is to examine the changes in Cl volatilizations and chemical forms in NaCl-loaded Victorian brown coal during gasification in steam at 800 ℃ using Cl K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge structure(XANES) *** char samples were prepared in a novel one-stage fluidised-bed / fixed-bed quartz reactor at a fast heating *** samples were then collected and sealed in an argon-filled bag in order to minimise possible oxidation of char and Cl by air prior to analysis by ***-steam reactions were found to significantly affect the transformation of Cl,including the possible formation of chlorine-containing organic *** the other hand,volatile-char interactions during the gasification appeared to enhance the Cl retention and prevent the formation of organic chlorine compounds in chars.

Instead of the energy-intensive Haber-Bosch process, electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR) is an exciting new carbon neutral technique for ammonia synthesis under ambient conditions. In this work, we investigated K-based electrocatalysts theoretically and demonstrated thatK_(3)Sb/graphene performs excellent activity and inhibits hydrogen evolution on alternating reactionpathway. The first hydrogenation step from N_(2)^(*) to NNH^(*) was found to be the most energetic andlimiting step (0.61 eV). Graphene substrate plays the critical role to promote electronic conductivitybetween K_(3)Sb and dinitrogen.

Context: Antiretroviral therapies improve the prognosis of NeuroAIDS contrasting with a high frequency of Minor Neurocognitive Disorders (MND) even in aviremic subjects. Objective: The objective of this study is to present the neurological and cognitive profile of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) initiating antiretroviral treatment in Kinshasa in the era of Dolutegravir (DTG). Methods: This is a multicenter, cross-sectional study with a descriptive aim carried out in 16 HIV Outpatient Treatment Centers (OTC) in Kinshasa from October 4, 2021 to February 15, 2022. The International HIV Dementia Scale (IHDS) correlated with the Activities of Daily Living (IADL) scale facilitated the categorization of NeuroCognitive Disorders (NCD) of PLHIV evaluated after carrying out a summary neurological examination. Results: Of the 96 patients recruited, 56.3% were women with a sex ratio of 0.68. The average age was 40.1 ± 12.1 years. The secondary education level was the majority at 64.6%. Malaria (44.8%) and tuberculosis (32.3%) were more common as opportunistic infections. They were alcoholics in (30.2%). Their history was heart disease (15.6%), high blood pressure (18.8%);drug abuse (10.4%). The IHDS score was light in 55.2% of cases. The correlation between IHDS/IADL watches asymptomatic neurocognitive impairments (ANI) in 77.1%, almost all of subjects are found with normal overall functioning (94.8%) and a disturbed neurological examination in 53.1% of cases with a predominance of motor impairments in 79.1%. Conclusion: In view of these results, early and systematic screening of NCD and associated factors remains necessary in our context. .

Partial oxidation of methane is a promising alternative strategy for methanol production under mild reaction conditions;however,significant challenges hinder the development of appropriate *** this study,based on first-principles calculations,we demonstrate that a single Fe atom supported on anatase TiO_(2)(001)provides double active sites(Fe and Ti_(5C))to activate gas-phase O_(2)and form O-assisted *** triple state Fe-O/TiO_(2)(001)system exhibited better activity for methane activation(ΔG max=1.02 eV).Our findings offer new insights into the design of non-noble-3 d transition metal single-atom catalysts on TiO_(2)(001)for partial methane oxidation via an inexpensive O_(2)oxidant under mild reaction conditions.

Proximal gastric response to small intestinal nutrients is abnormal in mechanically ventilated critically ill patients

AIM： To determine the response of the proxima stomach to small intestinal nutrients in critically ill patients. METHODS： Proximal gastric motility was measured in 13 critically ill patients （49.3 ± 4.7 years） and 12 healthy volunteers （27.7 ± 2.9 years） using a barostat technique. Recordings were performed at baseline, during a 60-rain intra-duodenal infusion of Ensure^R （2 kcal/min）, and for 2 h following the infusion. Minimum distending pressure （MDP）, intra-bag volume and fundic wave activity were determined. RESULTS： The MDP was higher in patients （11.7 ± 1.1 vs 7.8 ± 0.7 mmHg; P 〈 0.01）. Baseline intrabag volumes were similar in the 2 groups. In healthy subjects, a ‘bimodal＇ proximal gastric volume response was observed. In patients, the initial increase in proximal gastric volume was small and delayed, but eventually reached a maximal volume similar to that of healthy subjects. In healthy subjects, the proximal gastric volume rapidly returned to baseline level after nutrient infusion （median 18 min）. In contrast, the recovery of volume to baseline was delayed in critically ill patients （median 106 min）. In 6 patients, the volume had not returned to baseline level 2 hours after nutrient infusion. In patients, fundic volume waves were less frequent （P 〈 0.05） and had lower amplitude （P 〈 0.001）, compared to healthy subjects. CONCLUSION： In critical illness, proximal gastric motor responses to small intestinal nutrient stimulation are abnormal.

A major challenge in runoff and soil erosion modelling is the adequate representation of the most relevant processes in models while avoiding over *** the European loess belt,pro-gressive soil crusting during rainfall events,resulting in infiltration-excess runoff,is usually considered the dominant process generating runoff on catchments covered with silty ***-excess may also occur and affect their runoff and erosion ***,saturation-excess runoff occurrence and quantification have rarely been performed and is usually not taken into account when modelling runoff and erosion in these ***,a continuous simulation of the Austreberthe catchment(214 km^(2)),located in the European loess belt(Normandy,France),was conducted with the new Water and Sediment(WaterSed)model over 12 years,corresponding to more than 780 individual rainfall events,at a 25 m spatial *** inter-annual variability of runoff and erosion was closely linked to the number of intense events per year and their distribution through the *** model was properly calibrated over a representative set of 35 rainfall events,considering either infiltration-excess and/or saturation-excess *** was also able to reproduce the measured runoff volume for most of the monitoring ***,the three years with most rainfall were adequately modelled only including saturation-excess *** analysis performed at the seasonal scale revealed that saturation was modelled in the catchment during almost all of the modelling period,suggesting the importance of this often overlooked process in current modelling attempts.
