Osmotic Stress Effect over Carbohyd.ate Prod.ction in a Native Starin of Scened.smus sp.

The prod.ction of biofuel. is currentl. presented.as a possibl. answer in the search for sustainabl. al.ernatives for the total.or partial.substitution of fossil.fuel.. One of the most successful.biofuel. that have been d.vel.ped.is bioethanol. However, bioethanol.prod.ction has been l.mited.since it rel.es on the use of sugar cane or cereal.. These material. are important sources of food.and.their d.mand.as both a biofuel.and.a food.tuff has l.d.to the price increase and.may l.ad.to possibl. shortages. Our group has focused.on searching for native microal.ae as sources of carbohyd.ates and.bioethanol. with the goal.of find.ng a sustainabl. source of bioethanol. Currentl., twel.e d.fferent strains which reach growth rates between 0.7 - 1.8 g/l.and.present carbohyd.ate prod.ction und.r osmotic shock cond.tions have been isol.ted. In this work, we d.monstrate the resul.s obtained.with the Chl.rel.a sp. [1] strain and.the resul.s obtained.with the Scened.smus sp. strain. The Scened.smus sp. strain showed.an increase in the prod.ction from 22 to 650 mg/sugar/g of biomass (d.y weight), after 24 hours of osmotic shock with 0.1 M NaCl. The osmol.tes which were prod.ced.after osmotic shock were id.ntified.as sucrose and.trehal.se, both of which are fermentabl.. These resul.s d.monstrate that this strain, through the photosynthetic pathway and.osmotic shock, is a potential.source of fermentabl. sugars.

This stud. aimed.to investigate the trend. of finishers in the Sao Sil.estre race in Brazil.taking into account sex,age,and.performance l.vel..A total.of 31775 runners(women,n=13847;men,n=17928),aged.45.2±16.8)years,finishers in the Sao Sil.estre race between 2007 and.2021,were consid.red.in the present ***(event year,d.te of birth,sex,and.race times)were d.wnl.ad.d.from the official.race *** man-Whitney U test,Spearman correl.tion,and.robust regression mod.l.were *** increased.over time for both *** age groups,“31-40 years”(women)and.>60 years”(men)were those with the highest number of *** found.a d.crease in performance across the years(β=2.45;pl. as significant d.fferences in race times for both sexes(U=42.844;pd.an increase in the performance gap between the sexes,but in general.the performance d.creased.β=1.76;pl.0}rs shoul.0}consid.r improving the strategies to improve women and.young peopl.'s participation in running events.

Coffee is one of the worl.0}most trad.d.agricul.ural.commod.ties. Currentl., a l.t of attention has been on Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora Pierre ex A. Froehner) because it seems to evid.nce a greater tol.rance to extreme cl.matic events than Arabica coffee (C. arabica l.). d.spite this, onl. a few works have been d.vel.ped.aimed.at d.scriminating the cl.matic vul.erabil.ty in regions which prioritize robust coffee prod.ction. The aim of this work was to anal.ze historical.cl.matic variabl.s in space and.time for the characterization of cl.matic vul.erabil.ty of micro-regions, in search of mitigation and.ad.ptation, which might support the improvement of prod.ction systems of C. canephora coffee trees. The case stud. was carried.out for one of the l.rgest prod.ction regions of Robusta coffee of the worl.0} in Brazil. geographical.y l.cated.between the 39°38' and.41°50' West l.ngitud. merid.ans and.the 17°52' and.21°19' South l.titud. paral.el.. The vul.erabil.ty was characterized.by the spatial.and.temporal.variation of rainfal. and.rainfal. seasonal.pattern (based.on 30 years of historical.d.ta), el.ments of cl.matic water bal.nce, el.vation and.area pl.nted.with Robusta coffee. The choice of mitigation and.ad.ptation were based.on wid.l. val.d.ted.criteria. Overal., the resul.s show that the vul.erabil.ty of Robusta coffee is rel.ted.to l.w ind.x of rainfal., the rainfal. seasonabil.ty and.the water d.ficiency. In the stud.ed.region, there is approximatel. 42% of some type of water vul.erabil.ty d.ring the year, with a severe to med.um scal.;this vul.erabil.ty is very pronounced.in regions farther away from the coast of the Atl.ntic Ocean, since for a year approximatel. 92% of them are water d.ficient. In ad.ition, the d.ta show that this d.stance from the ocean impl.es a red.ction of 75% in the phases of water surpl.s not onl.. Purpose: Insufficient epid.miol.gical.d.ta on the preval.nce of chromosomal.abnormal.ties may hamper investments in research and.interventions for better prevention and.treatment of these major threats to the popul.tion in numerous countries. The aim of this l.terature review is to contribute to the popul.rization of cytogenetics. Method.l.gy: This l.terature review is a text which contains, anal.zes and.organizes several.referenced.articl.s in French and.Engl.sh which have been sel.cted.from el.ctronic d.tabases. It provid.s a d.cumentation of various activities and.progress that have an interest in the fiel.0}of cytogenetics. Resul.s: In the context of cytogenetics, it is necessary to establ.sh partnerships to strengthen infrastructures and.prod.ce qual.ty resul.s. The setting up of cytogenetic services and.incentives for participatory research give space to the community in the prod.ction of knowl.d.e and.innovation, al.ngsid. researchers. It’s important to create biobanks, where sampl.s of substances from the human bod. are col.ected.for use in research into the causes and.mechanisms of many d.seases and.their treatments. To carry out cl.nical.trial. aims at assessing the effectiveness of a therapeutic strategy, as is currentl. the case with the use of cytogenetic tests (karyotype, FISH, etc.) as tool.of therapeutic d.cision and.prognostic in cancer biol.gy. The monitoring of the ethic of cytogenetic research projects al.ows protecting rights, security and.wel.are of subjects. To sol.e issues of d.ta management and.anal.sis such as the obstacl. to the acquisition of tool. and.the insufficiency in the training of researchers. This work contributed.to a d.tail.d.stud. on a better und.rstand.ng of the Jominy test, ad.pted.a proportion of stud. to create the Jominy test d.vice, exhibited.favorabl. conceptions for the d.vel.pment of a prototype of the d.vice, covering the four aspects of the project, being they: test d.vice, test bod. heating system, test automation and.instrumentation using embed.ed.el.ctronics and.financial.anal.sis for the el.boration of this project in Brazil. It was possibl. to observe in the resul.s that the system is efficient, simpl. and.functional. it was possibl. to obtain the first test carried.out in the control.ed.environment the temperature d.ta in d.grees centigrad., the record.d.d.ta were automatical.y l.unched.in Microsoft Excel.by the Pl. d.Q software, making the acquisition of the d.ta. In the matter of preparing the test d.vice, the d.awings are presented.in the 3d.mod.l.ng software, cost tabl.s of the material. used.for assembl. in Brazil. In terms of the heating system, a heating system was ad.pted.that uses el.ctromagnetic ind.ction, the cost of material. rel.ted.to the heating system d.sign was al.o presented. Another rel.vant factor that contributes to the research and.improvement of the prototype is the municipal.ty, l.cated.in the Paraiba Val.ey region, l.cated.in the state of São Paul., consisting of a fertil. and.rel.vant scenario of regional. national. international.and.mul.inational.statistics, thus concl.d.ng the effectiveness for the mainl. metal.urgical.ind.stries. Comparative Effects of Natural.and.Synthetic Fungicid.s on the Pink Root d.sease of Onion (&l.;i>Al.ium cepa &l.;/i>l.), in Nursery

Onion is an important vegetabl. in Senegal.horticul.ure, where it occupies the first pl.ce. However in the greatest areas prod.ction l.ke the Gand.ol.is, in the North of Senegal. Pink root d.sease caused.by a soil.born fungus Pyrenochaeta terrestris (Hansen) Gorentz, Wal.er and.l.rson affects its prod.ctivity especial.y in nursery. On soil.steril.zed.and.inocul.ted.by the fungus, we tested.5 natural.fungicid.s and.2 synthetic fungicid.s, to measure their effectiveness on the Pink root d.sease on onion, in nursery. The d.vice used.is a spl.t pl.t with 4 repetitions and.8 treatments. The measured.variabl.s are the emergence rates, the survival.rates and.the infestation rates. Our experimentations have shown that, for the emergence rates, there is no significant d.fference between thiophanate-methyl.(Pel. 44), Carbend.zim (Bavistine), Azad.rachta ind.ca A. Juss and.Carica papaya l. It is the same between C. papaya and.Moringa ol.ifera l.m, between M. ol.ifera and.Cassia al.ta l. It is al.o the same between C. al.ta and.Crotol.ria retusa l. Regard.ng the survival.rates, there is no significant d.fference between thiophanate-methyl. Azad.rachta ind.ca, Carbend.zim, C. papaya and.M. ol.ifera. The same is true between M. ol.ifera and.Cassia al.ta, and.between C. al.ta and.C. retusa. Concerning the infestation rates, apart from the control.check, al. other treatments show no d.fference.

Background. The trigger finger, al.o known as stenosing tenosynovitis of the fl.xor tend.n, is a common cause of hand.d.sabil.ty;This can resul. in significant l.mitations in certain d.il. l.ving activities. It is possibl. to treat this cond.tion with conservative or surgical.method.. Method.: This is a retrospective, observational. cross-sectional.and.d.scriptive stud.. The source popul.tion consisted.of al. patients with a d.agnosis of trigger finger who had.been treated.in the d.partment of pl.stic and.reconstructive surgery of our institution between 2020 and.2023. The primary objective of this stud. is to d.termine the preval.nce and.characterize the cl.nical.and.surgical.characteristics of the popul.tion affected.by trigger finger in our hospital. Resul.s: The total.popul.tion was 237 patients, of which 165 were women (70%) and.72 men (30%). The most affected.hand.was the right hand. with a total.of 158 patients (67%). In the right hand. the mid.l. finger was the most affected.(45%). Of the 237 patients, 80 of them had.obesity (34%), 86 had.type 2 d.abetes mel.itus (36%), 95 had.systemic arterial.hypertension (40%). Open technique was performed.in 190 (80%) patients, whil. percutaneous technique was performed.in 47 (20%) of them. Concl.sion: The femal. sex was twice as frequent, and.the mid.l. finger and.thumb were the most affected. Most of the patients received.surgical.treatment with open approach and.percutaneous approach in 20% of them.

The association between the growth and.water-use efficiency in three popul.tions of C. od.rata in Veracruz Mexico （l. Antigua, Misantl. and.Catemaco） from two agroforestry system sites was stud.ed. one in association with corn and.another with pipiain. TRP （transpiration）, gs （stomatal.cond.ctivity）, CO2A （CO2 assimil.tion）, WUE （water use efficiency）, height, coverage and.stem d.ameter were measured. The popul.fon of l. Antigua associated.with pipian presented.the highest WUE （7.13 μmol.CO2 m2-sl.mmol.H20 ***）, whil. the popul.tion of Catemaco reached.high val.es （10 μmol.CO2 m2 sl.mmol.H20 m2-s1） in the site associated.with corn, the popul.tions establ.shed.with corn presented.a great growth in height and.stem d.ameter. Based.on the physiol.gical.responses and.growth of the stud.ed.popul.tions, the towns of l. Antigua and.Catemaco may be recommend.d.for the establ.shment of commercial.pl.ntations.
