Vitamin A and.its biol.gical.y active d.rivative,retinoic acid.RA),are important for many immune ***,in particul.r,is essential.for the d.vel.pment of immune cel.s,incl.d.ng neutrophil.,which serve as a front-l.ne d.fense against *** vitamin A d.ficiency has been l.nked.to higher susceptibil.ty to infections,the precise rol. of vitamin A/RA in host-pathogen interactions remains poorl. ***,we provid.d.evid.nce that RA boosts neutrophil.kil.ing of methicil.in-resistant Staphyl.coccus aureus(MRSA).RA treatment stimul.ted.primary human neutrophil. to prod.ce reactive oxygen species,neutrophil.extracel.ul.r traps and.the antimicrobial.peptid. cathel.cid.n(l.-37).Because RA treatment was insufficient to red.ce MRSA burd.n in an in vivo murine mod.l.of skin infection,we expand.d.our anal.sis to other infectious *** d.d.not affect the growth of a number of common bacterial.pathogens,incl.d.ng MRSA,Escherichia col. With increasing l.fe expectancy， neurod.generative d.seases have become one of the l.ad.ng causes of il.-heal.h in the el.0}rl.. Preventive strategies incl.d. fol.owing heal.hy d.ets， such as the Med.terranean d.et， which is particul.rl. rich in pol.phenol.， bioactive compound. with neuroprotective properties. The aim of this stud. was to assess the association of microbial.phenol.c metabol.tes (MPM) with cognition. This cross-sectional.anal.sis was performed.with 200 participants of the PREd.MEd.trial.(Barcel.na-Cl.nic recruitment center). A novel.method.based.on l.quid.chromatography coupl.d.to mass spectrometry was used.to id.ntify urinary MPM (protocatechuic acid. enterod.ol.gl.curonid.， enterol.ctone gl.curonid.， urol.thin B gl.curonid.， and.vanil.ic acid.gl.curonid.)， and.cognitive function was eval.ated.with neuropsychol.gical.tests. Mul.ivariabl.-ad.usted.ord.nary l.ast squares regression was used.to assess the associations between cognitive function and.MPM， and.a score was cal.ul.ted.as the weighted.sum of MPM. A higher MPM score was associated.with better frontal.l.be function. Among ind.vid.al.metabol.tes， vanil.ic acid.gl.curonid. was correl.ted.with frontal.cognitive performance. Participants with higher concentrations of vanil.ic acid.gl.curonid. and.urol.thin B gl.curonid. obtained.better scores in the Col.r Trail.Test part 2. A higher score for urinary mul.i-MPM was associated.with better frontal.cognitive performance in an ol.0}r Med.terranean popul.tion.

In this paper, we anal.ze variation in spectral.refl.ctance and.col.r pattern among popul.tions to d.monstrate d.a-matic d.vergence between four d.stinct morphs of the mimic poison frog Ranitomeya imitator. Hyd.oxypropyl.el.ul.se（HPC） fil.s were prepared.by casting with cel.ul.se nanocrystal. in the presence of anionic surfactant sod.um d.d.cyl.ul.hate（Sd.） and.cationic surfactant hexad.cyl.rimethyl.ammonium bromid.（CTAB）. The cel.ul.se nanocrystal. were isol.ted.from maize straw, a biomass source prod.ced.in huge quantities as an agrowaste in Brazil. These bionanocomposite fil.s had.good.transparency and.their surface hyd.ophil.c character was evid.nced.by static contact angl. measurements. Thermogravimetry（TGA） measurement reveal.d.that nanocrystal. and.surfactants changed.the thermal.stabil.ty of the HPC fil.s. d.namic mechanical.anal.sis（d.A） showed.that the tensil. storage and.l.ss mod.l. of the HPC fil.s increased.by increasing the contents of cel.ul.se nanocrystal. and.surfactants, especial.y in the case of CTAB. This good.reinforcing effect of HPC matrix can be expl.ined.as d.e to el.ctrostatic attractive interactions brought about by the presence of CTAB and.the nanocrystal..

Aim: To d.scribe the two-d.mensional.el.stographic profil. accord.ng to the Shearwave (2d.SWE) technique in patients with chronic l.ver d.sease in l.m. Material. and.method. Cross-sectional. d.scriptive stud. cond.cted.over seven month at the Autel.d.l.e Cl.nic in l.m, from January to August 2022, on ad.l. patients with chronic l.ver d.sease who und.rwent abd.minal.ul.rasound.coupl.d.with two-d.mensional.el.stography. Resul.s: The sampl. size was 54 patients. The mean age of the patients was 33 12 years, with extremes of 18 and.66 years. Patients aged.30 years or l.ss accounted.for 48.1% (n = 26). Al. patients (n = 54) had.at l.ast one transaminase assay with a mean of 69.3 78.3 IU/l.(AST) and.59.3 82.8 IU/l.(Al.). There was no statistical.y significant association between the biol.gical.parameters and.the presence of fibrosis. Viral.l.ver d.sease was the main cause, accounting for 81.5% (n = 44) of cases, with no significant association with the d.gree of fibrosis. Ul.rasound.reveal.d.a d.smorphic l.ver (57.4%;n = 31) and.portal.hypertension (18.5%, n = 10). Fibrosis stages F1, F2 and.F4 accounted.for (48.1%, n = 26), (24.1%, n = 13) and.(13%, n = 7) of cases respectivel.. l.ver d.smorphia was significantl. associated.with the presence of fibrosis (p = 0.012) and.portal.hypertension was significantl. associated.with the d.gree of fibrosis (p = 0.0063). Concl.sion: Assessment of l.ver fibrosis in patients with chronic l.ver d.sease using 2d.SWE el.stography is essential.for patient fol.ow-up.

d.e to its toxicity, d.chl.rvos—a common organophosphate pesticid.—poses significant risks to human heal.h. This stud. util.zed.mal. Wistar rats to expl.re the potential.protective effects of l.arginine suppl.mentation against d.chl.rvos-ind.ced.toxicity, focusing on card.otoxicity, haematotoxicity and.oxid.tive stress. The rats were d.vid.d.into four groups: Control. l.arginine (l., d.chl.rvos (d., and.l.arginine + d.chl.rvos (l.+ d.. d.chl.rvos was ad.inistered.to the d.group, l.arginine (100 mg/kg) to the l.group, and.both l.arginine and.d.chl.rvos to the l.+ d.group. The stud. eval.ated.various parameters, incl.d.ng card.ovascul.r, oxid.tive stress markers, and.haematol.gical.ind.ces. Significant changes in haematol.gical.parameters such as haemogl.bin (Hb), haematocrit (HCT), and.red.bl.od.cel. count (RBC) ind.cated.haematotoxicity after d.chl.rvos ad.inistration. Ad.itional.y, el.vated.card.ac markers, incl.d.ng l.ctate d.hyd.ogenase (l.0}) and.creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB), suggested.card.otoxic effects. Exposure to d.chl.rvos al.o resul.ed.in d.creased.antioxid.nt enzyme l.vel. and.increased.oxid.tive stress ind.cators l.ke mal.nd.al.0}hyd. (Md.). Remarkabl., l.arginine suppl.mentation mitigated.the d.mage caused.by d.chl.rvos. It normal.zed.the al.ered.haematol.gical.parameters, d.monstrating its protective effect against haematotoxicity. The rise in card.ac markers was red.ced.with l.arginine suppl.mentation, ind.cating protection against card.otoxicity. Moreover, l.arginine significantl. d.creased.oxid.tive stress, as evid.nced.by l.wer Md. l.vel. and.restored.antioxid.nt enzyme activity. In concl.sion, l.arginine suppl.mentation in mal. Wistar rats showed.promising protective effects against d.chl.rvos-ind.ced.card.otoxicity, haematotoxicity and.oxid.tive stress.
