劳动教育的开展,是落实高校立德树人的根本任务有效方法,有助于高等院校大学生的全面发展,也是民办高校思想政治教育教学的重要内容。在大学阶段,以校企合作为基础,推进产教融合,把劳动教育与课程思政相结合可以促进学生的全面发展,也可以全面促进民办院校高技能型人才的培养。民办院校应充分利用社会、家庭、企业等优质资源,从人才培养目标的确立、理论与实践课程的设置、树立榜样和环境渲染等方面,通过社会实践、家务劳动、校园劳动、校内实训、顶岗实习、实践基地等途径,使学生全程参与劳动教育,增强劳动意识,形成感恩思想,培养爱劳动、讲团结、乐奉献的良好习惯,帮助学生树立正确的价值观,更好地适应社会和职业发展的需求。

DNA methylation in cancer DNA methylation,a reversible post-replication modification,defines gene expression and function in different physiologic processes.Hypomethylation is quite common among global DNA modifications,while promoter hypermethylation often occurs in local regions during cancer,as in CpG island formation,thereby perpetuating the inactivation of tumor suppressor genes.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors:breakthroughs in cancer treatment

Objective: Patients with Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein(WASP)-deficiency exhibit severe immunodeficiency, including a lack of long-lasting humoral protection. We need to understand the B cell-intrinsic role of WASP in generating antigen-specific memory B cells and humoral recall responses.Methods: We decected the frequency and numbers of memory B cells and atypical MBCs in WAS patients and healthy controls. We decected the frequency and numbers of memory B cells and antigen specifical germinal center B cells and plasmablast cells in WASKO and WT mice. We used WASKO-WT and WASKO-uMT bone marrow chimera mice to decect the defects of B cells was WASp deficient intrinsic.Results: The number and percentage of isotype-switched CD27+ memory B cells in the patients are significantly lower than those in controls. Furthermore, the peripheral blood of the patients exhibits a substantial increase in atypical memory B cells that resemble B cells expanded in persistent viral and parasite infections. In immunized WASP knockout mice, the percentages of antigen-specific germinal center, isotype-switched memory B cells, and plasmablasts in the spleen all are decreased, while the percentages of total germinal center B cells and plasmablasts are unchanged, compared to wild-type mice. In bone marrow chimera mice, where only B cells lack WASP expression, WASP-deficient B cells show reductions in the antigen-specific germinal center and memory subsets similar to those seen in WASP knockout mice. However, the percentages of total germinal center and isotype-switched B cells in the WASP knockout chimera mice are equivalent to or higher than those in the wild-type chimera.Conclusion: WASP-deficient B cells play a critical and cell-intrinsic role in developing the humoral immune deficiency in WAS.

Over the past two decades, immunotherapies have increasingly been considered as first-line treatments for most cancers. One such treatment is immune checkpoint blockade(ICB), which has demonstrated promising results against various solid tumors in clinical trials. Monoclonal antibodies(mAbs) are currently available as immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs). These ICIs target specific immune checkpoints, including cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen-4(CTLA-4) and programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1). Clinical trial results strongly support the feasibility of this immunotherapeutic approach. However, a substantial proportion of patients with cancer develop resistance or tolerance to treatment, owing to tumor immune evasion mechanisms that counteract the host immune response.Consequently, substantial research focus has been aimed at identifying additional ICIs or synergistic inhibitory receptors to enhance the effectiveness of anti-PD-1, anti-programmed cell death ligand 1(anti-PD-L1), and anti-CTLA-4 treatments. Recently, several immune checkpoint molecular targets have been identified, such as T cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains(TIGIT), mucin domain containing-3(TIM-3), lymphocyte activation gene-3(LAG-3), V-domain immunoglobulin suppressor of T cell activation(VISTA), B and T lymphocyte attenuator(BTLA), and signal-regulatory protein α(SIRPα). Functional m Abs targeting these molecules are under development. CTLA-4, PD-1/PD-L1, and other recently discovered immune checkpoint proteins with distinct structures are at the forefront of research. This review discusses these structures, as well as clinical progress in m Abs targeting these immune checkpoint molecules and their potential applications.

The biotransformation of food waste(FW)to bioenergy has attracted considerable research attention as a means to address the energy crisis and waste disposal problems.To this end,a promising technique is two-stage anaerobic digestion(TSAD),in which the FW is transformed to biohythane,a gaseous mixture of biomethane and biohydrogen.This review summarises the main characteristics of FW and describes the basic principle of TSAD.Moreover,the factors influencing the TSAD performance are identified,and an overview of the research status;economic aspects;and strategies such as pre-treatment,co-digestion,and regulation of microbial consortia to increase the biohythane yield from TSAD is provided.Additionally,the challenges and future considerations associated with the treatment of FW by TSAD are highlighted.This paper can provide valuable reference for the improvement and widespread implementation of TSAD-based FW treatment.

Neighborhood predictors of short sleep duration and bedtime irregularity among children in the United States: results from the 2019-2020 National Surveyof Children's Health

Background Environmental factors may contribute to short sleep duration and irregular bedtime in children.Neighborhood factors and children's sleep duration and bedtime regularity remain a less investigated area.The aim of this study was to investigate the national and state-level proportions of children with short sleep duration and irregular bedtime and their neighborhood predictors.Methods A total of 67,598 children whose parents completed the National Survey of Children's Health in 2019-2020 were included in the analysis.Survey-weighted Poisson regression was used to explore the neighborhood predictors of children's short sleep duration and irregular bedtime.Results The prevalence of short sleep duration and irregular bedtime among children in the United States(US)was 34.6%[95%confidence interval(CI)=33.8%-35.4%]and 16.4%(95%CI=15.6%-17.2%)in 2019-2020,respectively.Safe neighborhoods,supportive neighborhoods,and neighborhoods with amenities were found to be protective factors against children's short sleep duration,with risk ratios ranging between 0.92 and 0.94,P<0.05.Neighborhoods with detracting elements were associated with an increased risk of short sleep duration[risk ratio(RR)=1.06,95%CI=1.00-1.12]and irregular bedtime(RR=1.15,95%CI=1.03-1.28).Child race/ethnicity moderated the relationship between neighborhood with amenities and short sleepduration.Conclusions Insufficient sleep duration and irregular bedtime were highly prevalent among US children.A favorable neighborhood environment can decrease children's risk of short sleep duration and irregular bedtime.Improving the neighborhood environment has implications for children's sleep health,especially for children from minority racial/ethnic groups.

As an important part of nonstructural components,the seismic response of indoor water supply pipes deserves much attention.This paper presents shaking table test research on water supply pipes installed in a full-scale reinforced concrete(RC)frame structure.Different material pipes and different methods for penetrating the reinforced concrete floors are combined to evaluate the difference in seismic performance.Floor response spectra and pipe acceleration amplification factors based on test data are discussed and compared with code provisions.A seismic fragility study of displacement demand is conducted based on numerical simulation.The acceleration response and displacement response of different combinations are compared.The results show that the combination of different pipe materials and different passing-through methods can cause obvious differences in the seismic response of indoor riser pipes.

Extremely large-scale antenna array(ELAA) at millimeter wave(mmWave) and Terahertz(THz)band has been considered a key technology for combating high attenuation in high-frequency bands in future6G communications. Uniform circular arrays(UCAs) have attracted much attention because of their ability to provide flat beamforming gain at all angles. To realize efficient beamforming, beam training is widely used to acquire channel state information. However, with a large antenna number, the beam training overhead in ELAA systems becomes overwhelming. Moreover, with a large bandwidth, the beam defocus effect severely degrades beam training accuracy. To address these issues, this paper proposes a frequency-dependent focusing(FDF)-based beam training scheme to realize effective beam training in near-field wideband ELAA systems with UCA. Specifically, we first analyze the FDF property of UCA, where signals at different subcarriers can simultaneously focus on different distances. Then, by exploiting the FDF property to search different distances using different subcarriers simultaneously, we design a hierarchical codebook and propose an FDFbased beam training scheme. To reveal the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, we compare its necessary beam training overhead with that of existing schemes. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can achieve accurate beam training in near-field wideband UCA systems with a low beam training overhead.

Birth defects have become a public health concern.The hazardous environmental factors exposure to embryos could increase the risk of birth defects.Cadmium,a toxic environmental factor,can cross the placental barrier during pregnancy.Pregnant woman may be subjected to cadmium before taking precautionary protective actions.However,the link between birth defects and cadmium remains obscure.Cadmium exposure can induce excessive apoptosis in neuroepithelium during embryonic development progresses.Cadmium exposure activated the p53 via enhancing the adenosine 5‘-monophosphate(AMP)-activated protein kinase(AMPK)and reactive oxygen species'(ROS)level.And cadmium decreases the level of Paired box 3(Pax3)and murine double minute 2(Mdm2),disrupting the process of p53 ubiquitylation.And p53 accumulation induced excessive apoptosis in neuroepithelium during embryonic development progresses.Excessive apoptosis led to the failure of neural tube closure.The study emphasizes that environmental materials may increase the health risk for embryos.Cadmium caused the failure of neural tube closure during early embryotic day.Pregnant women may be exposed by cadmium before taking precautionary protective actions,because of cadmium concentration-containing foods and environmental tobacco smoking.This suggests that prenatal cadmium exposure is a threatening risk factor for birth defects.
