Co_(3)O_(4) is considered as one of promising cathode catalysts for lithium oxygen(li-O_(2))batteries,which contains both tetrahedral Co^(2+)sites(Co^(2+)Td)and octahedral Co^(3+)sites(Co^(3+)Oh).It is important to reveal the effect of optimal geometric configuration and oxidation state of cobalt ion in Co_(3)O_(4) to improve the performance of li-O_(2) ***,through regulating the synthesis process,Co^(2+)and Co^(3+)sites in Co_(3)O_(4) were replaced with Zn and Al atoms to form materials with a unique Co *** li-O_(2) batteries based on ZnCo_(2)O_(4) showed longer cycle life than that of CoAl_(2)O_(4),suggesting that in Co_(3)O_(4),the Co^(3+)Oh site is a relatively better geometric configuration than Co^(2+)Td site for li-O_(2) *** calculations revealed that Co^(3+)Oh sites provide higher catalysis activity,regulating the adsorption energy of the intermediate liO_(2) and accelerating the kinetics of the reaction in batteries,which further leads to the change of the morphology of the discharge product and ultimately improves the electrochemical performance of the batteries.

As the intersection of disciplines deepens,the field of battery modeling is increasingly employing various artificial intelligence(AI)approaches to improve the efficiency of battery management and enhance the stability and reliability of battery *** paper reviews the value of AI methods in lithium-ion battery health management and in particular analyses the application of machine learning(ML),one of the many branches of AI,to lithium-ion battery state of health(SOH),focusing on the advantages and strengths of neural network(NN)methods in ML for lithium-ion battery SOH simulation and *** is one of the important branches of ML,in which the application of NNs such as backpropagation NN,convolutional NN,and long short-term memory NN in SOH estimation of lithium-ion batteries has received wide *** so far have shown that the utilization of NN to model the SOH of lithium-ion batteries has the advantages of high efficiency,low energy consumption,high robustness,and scalable *** the future,NN can make a greater contribution to lithium-ion battery management by,first,utilizing more field data to play a more practical role in health feature screening and model building,and second,by enhancing the intelligent screening and combination of battery parameters to characterize the actual lithium-ion battery SOH to a greater *** in-depth application of NN in lithium-ion battery SOH will certainly further enhance the science,reliability,stability,and robustness of lithium-ion battery management.

Sperm are specialized cells that require adenosine triphosphate(ATP) to support their *** sperm energy homeostasis in vitro is vitally important to improve the efficacy of boar sperm preservation. Metformin can activate 5′-AMPactivated protein kinase(AMPK) to improve metabolic flexibility and maintain energy homeostasis. Thus, the aim of the present study was to investigate whether metformin can improve boar sperm quality through AMPK mediation of energy metabolism. Sperm motility parameters, membrane integrity,acrosomeintegrity,mitochondrial membrane potential(ΔΨm), ATP content, glucose uptake,and lactate efflux were *** and expression levels of AMPK and phospho-Thr172-AMPK(p-AMPK) were also detected by immunofluorescence and western blotting. We found that metformin treatment significantly increased sperm motility parameters, ΔΨm, and ATP content during storage at 17 ℃. Moreover, results showed that AMPK was localized at the acrosomal region, connecting piece, and midpiece of sperm and p-AMPK was distributed at the post-acrosomal region, connecting piece, and midpiece. When sperm were incubated with metformin for 4 h at 37 ℃, sperm motility parameters, ΔΨm, ATP content,p-AMPK, glucose uptake, and lactate efflux all significantly increased, whereas the addition of Compound C treatment, an inhibitor of AMPK,counteracted these positive effects. Together, our results suggest that metformin promotes AMPK activation, which contributes to the maintenance of energy hemostasis and mitochondrial activity,thereby maintaining boar sperm functionality and improving the efficacy of semen preservation.

Constructing interfaces in heterostructures is effective for modulating the electronic properties of *** hollow CoMoO_(4)-Co_(3)O_(4) heterostructure(HCMCH)was prepared as a bifunctional electrocatalyst for li-O_(2) *** different components in CoMoO_(4)-Co_(3)O_(4) heterostructure presented the efficient coupling and enhanced the electrocatalytic activity for aprotic oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER),in which it improved the obviously reduced overpotential of 300 mV(compared with the pure Ketjen black(KB)electrode),enhanced reversibility of 80%capacity retention after 6 full cycles and the superior cyclability of more than 200 cycles with an optimized *** battery performance of the HCMCH was not only associated with the unique hollow structure and rich active sites but also with coupling interface constructions synergetic effects attaching to the improving conductivity and optimized the discharge *** results suggested that this HCMCH electrocatalyst was a promising candidate for the li-O_(2) battery and it gave a novel insight for high performance electrocatalyst designing.

Noncontact optical thermometers have attracted widespread attention,but existing problems such as single-mode and low-sensitivity thermometers still urgently need to be ***,a novel multiple-mode thermometer was designed for the polymorphism LaSc_(3)(BO_(3))_(4):Eu^(2+/3+),li^(+).X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns revealed a slight transition betweenα-andβ-phases with the concentrations of the dopants,which is further proved by structure refinements and first-principles *** coexistence of Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)in the phosphors and their relative percentages were confirmed by X-ray absorption near-edge structure(XANES)*** from appropriate emissions from Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)without obvious energy transfer and their opposite changing trends with temperatures under 307 nm excitation,a triple-mode optical thermometer is obtained for this material within the temperature range of 150–450 *** highest sensitivities of 27.65,14.05,and 7.68%·K^(−1)are achieved based on two fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR)modes of Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)(5d–4f/^(5)D_(0)–^(7)F_(2,4))and the fluorescence lifetime(FL)mode of Eu^(2+),*** the best of our knowledge,the former is almost the highest in Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)co-doped *** results indicate that this material may be used as an excellent multiple-mode optical thermometer.

The electrocatalytic conversion of CO_(2)to produce fuels and chemicals holds great promise,not only to provide an alternative to fossil feedstocks,but also to use renewable electricity to convert and recycle the greenhouse gas CO_(2)to mitigate climate ***,the selectivity and reaction rates for the conversion of CO_(2)into desirable carbon-based products,especially multicarbon products with high added value,are still insufficient for commercial applications,which is attributed to insufficiently favourable microenvironmental conditions in the vicinity of the *** construction of catalysts/electrodes with confined structures can effectively improve the reaction microenvironment in the vicinity of the electrodes and thus effectively direct the reaction towards the desired *** this review,we firstly introduce the effects of the microenvironment at the electrode-electrolyte interface including local pH,local intermediate concentration,and local cation concentration on CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)as well as the mechanism of action,and then shed light on the microenvironmental modulation within the confined space,and finally and most importantly,introduce the design strategy of CO_(2)RR catalyst/electrode based on the confinement effect.
