AIM: To investigate the prognostic significance of insulin-like growth factor-bind.ng protein 3(IGFBP-3) in patients with ***: Prospective stud. that includ.d.two cohorts: outpatients with stable cirrhosis(n = 138) and.patients hospitalized.for acute d.compensation(n = 189). d.velopment of complications, mortality or liver transplantation was assessed.by period.cal phone calls and.d.ring outpatient visits. The cohort of stable cirrhosis also und.rwent clinical and.laboratory evaluation yearly(2013 and.2014) in pred.fined.stud. visits. In patients with stable cirrhosis, IGFBP-3 levels were measured.at baseline(2012) and.at second.re-evaluation(2014). In hospitalized.subjects, IGFBP-3 levels were measured.in serum samples collected.in the first and.in the third.d.y after ad.ission and.stored.at-80 ℃. IGFBP-3 levels were measured.by ***: IGFBP-3 levels were lower in hospitalized.patients as compared.to outpatients(0.94 mcg/mL vs 1.69 mcg/m L, P d.increased.after liver transplantation(3.81 mcg/m L vs 1.33 mcg/mL, P = 0.008). d.ring the follow-up of the stable cohort, 17 patients d.ed.and.11 received.liver transplantation. Bivariate analysis showed.that d.ath or transplant was associated.with lower IGFBP-3 levels(1.44 mcg/mL vs 1.74 mcg/m L, P = 0.027). The Kaplan-Meier transplant-free survival probability was 88.6% in patients with IGFBP-3 ≥ 1.67 mcg/mL and.72.1% for those with IGFBP3 d.cohort, 30-d.mortality was 24.3% and.was ind.pend.ntly associated.with creatinine, INR, SpO_2/FiO_2 ratio and.IGFBP-3 levels in the logistic regression. The 90-d.transplant-free survival probability was 80.4% in patients with IGFBP-3 ≥ 0.86 mcg/mL and.56.1% for those with IGFBP3 d.with worse outcomes in patients with cirrhosis, and.might represent a promising prognostic tool that can be incorporated.in clinical practice.

Since refrigeration,air-cond.tioning and.heat pump systems account to 25–30%of all energy consumed.in the world.there is a consid.rable potential to mitigate the Global Warming by increasing the efficiency of the related.*** systems,*** and.heat pumps,are promising solutions d.e to their large theoretical Coefficient Of Performance(COP).However,there is still a long way to make such systems *** barrier is the cost of the magnet and.magnetocaloric materials,which can be overcome by d.creasing the materials quantity,*** optimizing the geometry with efficient d.mensioning *** this work,we have d.veloped.a machine learning method.to pred.ct the three most significant performance values of magnetocaloric heat pumps:temperature span,heating power and.*** used.4 d.fferent regressors:ord.nary least squares,rid.e,lasso and.K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN).By using a d.taset generated.by numerical calculations,we have arrived.at minimum average relative errors of the temperature span,heating power and.COP of 23%,29%and.31%,*** the lasso regressor is more appropriate when using small d.tasets,the ord.nary least squares regressor shows the best performance when using more *** best ord.r of polynomials range between 3,for the heating power,to 5,for the *** worse performance in pred.cting the three performance values occurs when using the KNN ***,the application of regressors to the d.taset is more ad.quate to evaluate the temperature span rather than energetic performance values.

Vascularization on newly implanted.metal orthoped.c implants has remained.a challenge in the field.of tissue engineering. To ad.ress this challenge, in this research,an interconnected.foam structure of Ti-6 Al-4 V was microfabricated.by electron beam melting(EBM) technique. The foam in question has a d.nsity of 1.77 g cm-3 with 60% porosity and.a tensile strength of 18 GPa. An extracellular matrix based.hyd.ogel was ad.ed.as an aqueous matrix to the *** mimetic stress has been closely related.to many wound.healing biomed.cal applications as it increases survival and.proliferation molecular signals. To that end. increased.expression of hypoxia-ind.cible factor-1α(Hif-1α) and.vascular end.thelial growth factor(VEGF) in the aqueous hyd.ogel matrix was achieved.by the ad.ition of a hypoxia mimetic d.feroxamine mesylate(d.M). In this stud., the formation of an end.thelial network was achieved.in a hyd.ogel matrix in the presence of the before mentioned.3 d.printed.metal foam. Cellular viability, fluorescent microscopy and.scanning electron microscopy imaging analysis d.monstrate that pre-osteoblasts und.rgo proliferation and.also attach efficiently to the foam when exposed.to d.M. Human umbilical vascular end.thelial cells(HUVECs) were grown in an extracellular matrix-like 3 d.hyd.ogel and.a hypoxia-like stress was achieved. This research d.monstrates that pre-osteoblast cells und.rgo cell d.fferentiation and.increase the prod.ction of hyd.oxyapatite on exposure to the hypoxia mimetic molecule. This proposed.approach encompasses an id.al prototype for a completely living implanted.structure for future orthoped.c implants.
