Effects of a novel bacterial phytase expressed in Aspergillus Oryzae on digestibility of calcium and phosphorus in diets fed to weanling or growing pigs

In 2 experiments, 48 weanling （initial BW： 13.5 ± 2.4 kg, Exp. 1） were used to determine effects of a novel bacterial 6-phytase and 24 growing pigs （initial BW： 36.2 ± 4.0 kg, Exp. 2） expressed in Aspergillus oryzae on the apparent total tract digestibility （ATTD） of phosphorus and calcium in corn-soybean meal diets fed to weanling and growing pigs. In Exp. 1 and 2, pigs were randomly allotted to 6 dietary treatments using a randomized complete block design and a balanced 2 period changeover design, respectively. In both experiments, 6 diets were formulated. The positive control diet was a corn-soybean meal diet with added inorganic phosphorus （Exp. 1：0.42 and 0.86% standardized total tract digestible phosphorus and total calcium, respectively; Exp. 2：0.32 and 0.79% standardized total tract digestible phosphorus and total calcium, respectively）. A negative control diet and 4 diets with the novel phytase （Ronozyme HiPhos, DsM Nutritional Products Inc., Parsippany, N J） added to the negative control diet at levels of 500, 1,000, 2,000, and 4,000 phytase units （FYT）/kg were also formulated. In Exp. 1, the ATTD of phosphorus was greater （P 〈 0.01） for the positive control diet （60.5%） than for the negative control diet （40.5%）, but increased （linear and quadratic, P 〈 0.01） as phytase was added to the negative control diet （40.5% vs. 61.6%, 65.1%, 68.7%, and 68.0%）. The breakpoint for the ATTD of phosphorus （68.4%） was reached at a phytase inclusion level of 1,016 FYT/kg. In Exp. 2, the ATTD of phosphorus was greater （P〈 0.01） for the positive control diet （59.4%） than for the negative control diet （39.8%） and increased （linear and quadratic, P〈 0.01） as phytase was added to the negative control diet （39.8% vs. 58.1%, 65.4%, 69.1%, and 72.8%）. The breakpoint for the ATTD of phosphorus （69.1%） was reached at a phytase inclusion level of 801 FYT/kg. in conclusion, the novel bacterial 6-phytase improved the ATTD of phosphorus and calcium in both weanling and growing pigs.

As a promisingmaterial for quantumtechnology,silicon carbide(siC)has attracted great interest inmaterials *** vacancy is a dominant defect in ***,understanding the properties of this defect is critical to its application,and the atomic and electronic structures of the defects needs to be *** this study,density functional theorywas used to characterize the carbon vacancy defects in hexagonal(h)and cubic(k)lattice *** zero-phonon line energies,hyperfine tensors,and formation energies of carbon vacancies with different charge states(2−,−,0,+and 2+)in different supercells(72,128,400 and 576 atoms)were calculated using standard Perdew-Burke-Ernzerhof and Heyd-scuseria-Ernzerhof *** show that the zero-phonon line energies of carbon vacancy defects are much lower than those of divacancy defects,indicating that the former is more likely to reach the excited state than the *** hyperfine tensors of VC+(h)and VC+(k)were *** of the calculated hyperfine tensor with the experimental results indicates the existence of carbon vacancies in siC *** calculation of formation energy shows that the most stable carbon vacancy defects in the material are VC 2+(k),VC+(k),VC(k),VC−(k)and VC 2−(k)as the electronic chemical potential increases.

Annealing nanodiamonds(ND) at high temperatures up to 1700 ℃ is a common method to synthesize carbon onions. The transformation from NDs to carbon onions is particularly interesting because of carbon onions' potential in the field of tribology and their application in ultra-charge/discharge devices. In this paper, a novel surface-enhanced Raman scattering technique that involves coating the sample with nanoscopic gold particles is proposed to characterize the NDs after different annealing treatments. Conventional Raman and surfaceenhanced Raman spectra were obtained, and the changes of peak parameters as the function of annealing temperature were evaluated. It was found that the widths of the D and the G peaks decreased with increasing annealing temperature, reflecting an improved order in the sp^2-hybridized carbon during the transformation from NDs to carbon onions. After annealing at 1700 ℃, the sp^2?carbon was highly ordered, indicating desirable electrical conductivity and lubricity. With increasing annealing temperature, the D peak showed a blue shift of almost30 cm^(-1), while the G peak merely shifted by 5 cm^(-1). For annealing temperatures above 1100 ℃, an increase of intensity ratio ID/IGwas observed. Compared to the uncoated area, red shifts of 0.5-2 cm^(-1) and of 5-9 cm^(-1) for the G and D peaks, respectively, were detected for the gold-coated area, which was due to the coupling of the plasmons and the phonons of the samples.

Wellbore instability is an issue that,if left untreated,can cause wells to collapse,resulting in human,environmental,equipment,and revenue *** fluids have been used to enhance the drilling process by lubricating and cooling the drill bit,eliminating cuttings,and most importantly,by improving the stability of the well by preventing fluid ***,there has been an increase in operational demands and challenges that call for drilling fluids to be more effective,economical,sustainable,and environmentally *** shales that have infinitesimally small pores,nanoparticle additives in drilling fluids can be crucial in providing the properties that are necessary to prevent fluid loss and provide wellbore stability while meeting the operational demands of the present ***,this paper examines the use of nanoparticle additives including copper(Ⅱ)oxide(CuO),magnesium oxide(MgO),and aluminum oxide(Al_(2)O_(3))where they are tested under three conditions using the permeable plugging tester(PPT),high-temperature high-pressure(HTHP)fluid loss apparatus,and API low-temperature e low-pressure(LTLP)fluid loss apparatus under concentrations of 0.03%and 0.10%.Finally,based on the results,each nanoparticle sample(particle sizes between one and 100 nm)performed well in contributing to the aim of this *** is the most effective inhibitor across all concentrations and under the three different *** contributed to reducing the fluid loss from 37.6 mL to 18.2 and 13.2 mL,which is between 52%and 65%of fluid *** MgO,it contributed to fluid loss reduction to 23.8 mL and 15 mL,which translated to 37%e60%of fluid loss *** use of Al_(2)O_(3) nanoparticles resulted in a fluid loss reduction to 33.6 mL and 17.8 mL,reducing the fluid loss up to 11%,at HTHP and up to 53%at *** CuO and MgO,Al_(2)O_(3) was less effective under HTHP conditions when compared to LTLP ***_(2)O_(3) did not suffer as a significant diminishing

High fiber co-products from the copra and palm kernel industries are by-products of the production of coconut oil and palm kernel oil. The co-products include copra meal, copra expellers, palm kernel meal, and palm kernel expellers. All 4 ingredients are very high in fiber and the energy value is relatively low when fed to pigs. The protein concentration is between 14 and 22 % and the protein has a low biological value and a very high Arg：Lys ratio. Digestibility of most amino acids is less than in soybean meal but close to that in corn. However, the digestibility of Lys is sometimes low due to Maillard reactions that are initiated due to overheating during *** and palm kernel ingredients contain 0.5 to 0.6 % P. Most of the P in palm kernel meal and palm kernel expellers is bound to phytate, but in copra products less than one third of the P is bound to phytate. The digestibility of P is, therefore, greater in copra meal and copra expellers than in palm kernel ingredients. Inclusion of copra meal should be less than 15 % in diets fed to weanling pigs and less than 25 % in diets for growing-finishing pigs. Palm kernel meal may be included by 15 % in diets for weanling pigs and 25 % in diets for growing and finishing *** bran contains the pericarp and aleurone layers of brown rice that is removed before polished rice is *** bran contains approximately 25 % neutral detergent fiber and 25 to 30 % starch. Rice bran has a greater concentration of P than most other plant ingredients, but 75 to 90 % of the P is bound in phytate. Inclusion of microbial phytase in the diets is, therefore, necessary if rice bran is used. Rice bran may contain 15 to 24 % fat, but it may also have been defatted in which case the fat concentration is less than 5 %.
