Quantum Supercurrent Transistors in Silicon Quantum Wells Confined by Superconductor Barriers

We present the findings of spin-dependent single-hole and pair-hole transport in plane and across the p-type high mobility silicon quantum wells (Si-QW), 2 nm, confined by the superconductor δ-barriers on the n-type Si (100) surface. The oscillations of the conductance in normal state and the zero-resistance supercurrent in superconductor state as a function of the top gate v.ltage are found to be correlated by on- and off-resonance tuning the two-dimensional lev.ls of holes in Si-QW with the Fermi energy in the superconductor δ-barriers. The SIMS and STM studies hav. shown that the δ-barriers heav.ly doped with boron, 5 × 1021 cm–3, represent really alternating arrays of silicon empty and doped dots, with dimensions restricted to 2 nm. This concentration of boron seems to indicate that each doped dot located between empty dots contains two impurity atoms of boron. The EPR studies show that these boron pairs are the trigonal dipole centres, B+ - B–, that contain the pairs of holes, which result from the negativ. -U reconstruction of the shallow boron acceptors, 2B0 => B+ - B–. The electrical resistiv.ty, magnetic susceptibility and specific heat measurements demonstrate that the high density of holes in the Si-QW (> 1011 cm–2) giv.s rise to the high temperature superconductor properties for the δ-barriers. The v.lue of the superconductor energy gap obtained is in a good agreement with the data deriv.d from the oscillations of the conductance in normal state and of the zero-resistance supercurrent in superconductor state as a function of the bias v.ltage. These oscillations appear to be correlated by on- and off-resonance tuning the two-dimensional subbands of holes with the Fermi energy in the superconductor δ-barriers. Finally, the proximity effect in the S-Si-QW-S structure is rev.aled by the findings of the quantization of the supercurrent and the multiple Andreev.reflection (MAR) observ.d both across and along the Si-QW plane thereby identifying the spin transis

We present the first findings of the new electrically- and optically-detected magnetic resonance technique [ED electron spin resonance (EDESR) and (ODMR)] which rev.al single point defects in the ultra-narrow silicon quantum wells (Si-QW) confined by the superconductor δ-barriers. This technique allows the ESR identification without the application of the external cav.ty as well as a high frequency source and recorder, with measuring the only magnetoresistance (EDESR) and transmission (ODMR) spectra within frameworks of the excitonic normal-mode coupling (NMC) caused by the microcav.ties embedded in the Si-QW plane. The new resonant positiv. magnetoresistance data are interpreted here in terms of the interference transition in the diffusiv. transport of free holes respectiv.ly between the weak antilocalization regime in the region far from the ESR of a paramagnetic point defect located inside or near the conductiv. channel and the weak localization regime in the nearest region of the ESR of that defect.

Studies of ultrasonic dehydration efficiency

The aim of this inv.stigation was to define the effectiv.ness of non-contact drying using ultrasonic v.brations. Disk radiators were used for carrying out experiments, and a special drying chamber was designed to prov.de resonant amplification of ultrasonic v.brations (from 130 to 150 dB). Drying of ginseng and other v.getables demonstrated that the application of ultrasonic v.brations reduced power inputs by 20% in comparison with conv.ctiv. drying. It also led to a decrease of 6% in final moisture content, if the duration of drying was constant. The lev.l of intensification of ultrasonic drying was high (up to 50 g for 1 kg of drying material), which helped to lower the temperature of the drying agent and improv. the quality of the dried products.

Semen microbiota and cytokines of healthy and infertile men

In this study,we determined the lev.ls of cytokine secretory inhibitors and the microbiota biofilms of semen from healthy and infertile subjects.A total of 118 clinical bacterial isolates were isolated and *** secretory inhibitors were determined based on the difference in cytokine content between the control and experimental samples of cell-free supernatants of isolated *** formation was studied by determining the adhesion of microorganisms to the surface of a 96-well sterile plate and expressed as the optical density at 630 nm(OD_(630)).Cell-free supernatants of Staphylococcus contained higher lev.ls of secretory inhibitor of cytokines in conditionally healthy than in infertile *** contrast,in infertile men,the ability to reduce cytokine lev.ls was more characteristic of Enterococcus and *** Staphylococcus,Corynebacterium,and Enterococcus isolated from infertile subjects showed a greater ability to form biofilms than the same bacteria isolated from healthy *** research is needed on this topic,since it is necessary to determine the relationships between decreased secretory inhibitors of cytokines,production of biofilms by bacteria in semen,and *** is likely that the ability of microorganisms to change the concentration of cytokines and increase the lev.l of biofilm formation in semen may be associated with minimal impairments of fertilizing ability,which are not detected using other methods.

Cell chemotaxis plays a piv.tal role in normal dev.lopment,inflammatory response,injury repair and tissue regeneration in all *** is also a critical contributor to cancer metastasis,altered angiogenesis and neurite growth in *** molecular mechanisms regulating chemotaxis are currently being identified and key components may be pertinent therapeutic *** these components appear to be mostly common in v.rious cells,there are important differences in chemotactic signaling networks and signal processing that result in the distinct chemotactic behav.or of mesenchymal cells compared to much better studied amoeboid blood *** differences are not necessarily predetermined based on cell type,but are rather chosen and exploited by cells to modify their chemotactic behav.or based on physical constraints and/or env.ronmental *** results in a specific type of chemotactic migration in mesenchymal cells that can be selectiv.ly targeted in ***,we compare the chemotactic behav.or,signaling and motility of mesenchymal and amoeboid *** suggest that the current model of chemotaxis is applicable for small amoeboid cells but needs to be reconsidered for large mesenchymal *** focus on new candidate regulatory molecules and feedback mechanisms that may account for mesenchymal cell type-specific chemotaxis.

Estimating Intelligence Quotient Using Stylometry and Machine Learning Techniques:A Rev.ew

The task of trying to quantify a person’s intelligence has been a goal of psychologists for ov.r a *** area of estimating IQ using stylometry has been a dev.loping area of research and the effectiv.ness of using machine learning in stylometry analysis for the estimation of IQ has been demonstrated in literature whose conclusions suggest that using a large dataset could improv. the quality of *** unav.ilability of large datasets in this area of research has led to v.ry few publications in IQ estimation from written *** this paper,we rev.ew studies that hav. been done in IQ estimation and also that hav. been done in author profiling using stylometry and we conclude that based on the success of IQ estimation and author profiling with stylometry,a study on IQ estimation from written text using stylometry will yield good results if the right dataset is used.

The Boundary Layer Interaction with Shock Wav. and Expansion Fan

The results of experimental inv.stigation of a turbulent boundary layer on compression and expansion surfaces are presented. They include the study of the shock wav. and/or expansion fan action upon the boundary layer, boundary layer separation and its relaxation. Complex ev.nts of paired interactions and the flow on compression conv.x-concav. surfaces were studied. The possibility and conditions of the boundary layer relaminarization behind the expansion fan and its effect on the relaxation length are presented. Different model configurations for wide range conditions were inv.stigated. Comparison of results for different interactions was carried out.
