Duplex stainless steels（DSSs） are widely used in industry for their desirable properties. Any fusion welding technique modifies the microstructure and, consequently, the properties of the material. This paper presents a parametric study of the variables that determine the energy contribution（current, voltage and welding speed） and the structural modifications produced during gas metal arc welding. The analysis comprises metallographic study,phase balance, dimensioning of the weld beads and tensile and hardness tests. The influence of the variables studied on the thermal cycles obtained（temperatures reached and cooling rate） was determined by using a finite element model. The results showed that, in addition to the indicated parameters, the parameter power transfer per volume（W/m3） and the geometry in the bead must be controlled due to their influence on the heat flow distribution and phase balance.

Aims Are there trends of increasing/decreasing dispersion of single,cat-egorical traits related to early/late-successional species between stages of community development?If yes,are these trends depend-ent on species pool extension and habitat scale?Is there a consist-ent reduction in single trait convergence or divergence in any seral stage when scaling down from ecological to local species pool?Methods Presence of all vascular species rooted within plots of 5×5 m was recorded in assemblages of exposed mining spoils(EMS)and heath-lands(HTL),which form a chronosequence on two abandoned ore tailing heaps located close to each other in the south-eastern Carpathians(romania).Fifteen nominal,trait attributes of plant species co-occurring in the two seral assemblages were collected from available databases and subsequently classified as either suc-cessionally‘pioneer’or‘mature’.The strength of single trait conver-gence or divergence was estimated by comparison with null plant assemblages at patch type(meta-community)level by reference to the ecological or local species pool,and at community *** Findings At patch type level,all pioneer and mature trait attributes(apart from short life span),with significant variation between the two seral stages,increased and,respectively,decreased in dispersion irrespective of species pool ***,these trends were more conspicuous when using the ecological species pool,very likely due to relaxation in abiotic filtering and dispersal *** community level,no consistent trends were observed between EMS and HTL assemblages,probably because most trait attributes were sorted by microenvironmental filters displaying high variation,like topography or habitat patch *** both seral stages,there was a general weakening of trait convergence or divergence at patch type level when scaling down from the ecological to the local species pool,which was due to niche space *** community level,there was a tre

Infection with hepatotropic viruses is not limited to the liver and can lead to the development of various immunological disorders(the formation of cryoglobulins,rheumatoid factor,antinuclear antibodies,autoantibodies specific for autoimmune hepatitis and primary biliary cholangitis,and others),which can manifest as glomerulonephritis,arthritis,uveitis,vasculitis(cryoglobulinemic vasculitis,polyarteritis nodosa,Henoch-Schonlein purpura,isolated cutaneous necrotizing vasculitis),and other rheumatologic disorders,and be a trigger for the subsequent development of autoimmune hepatitis and primary biliary cholangitis.A further study of the association between autoimmune liver diseases and hepatotropic virus infection would be useful to assess the results of treatment of these associated diseases with antiviral *** relationship of these immune disorders and their manifestations with hepatotropic viruses is best studied for chronic hepatitis B and *** isolated cases of these associations are described for hepatitis *** links are least studied,and are often controversial for hepatitis E,possibly due to their relatively rare *** with uveitis,glomerulonephritis,arthritis,vasculitis,autoimmune liver diseases should be tested for biomarkers of viral hepatitis,and if present,these patients should be treated with antiviral drugs.

Gastric polyps become a major clinical problem because of high prevalence and tendency to malignant transformation of some of them. The development of gastric hyperplastic polyps results from excessive proliferation of foveolar cells accompanied by their increased exfoliation, and they are macroscopically indistinguishable from other polyps with lower or higher malignant potential. Panendoscopy allows detection and differentiation of gastric polyps, usually after obtaining histopathological biopsy specimens. Unremoved gastric hyperplastic polyps may enlarge and sometimes spontaneously undergo a sequential progression to cancer. For this reason, gastric hyperplastic polyps larger than 5 mm in size should be removed in one piece. After excision of polyps with atypical focal lesion, endoscopic surveillance is suggested depending on histopathological diagnosis and possibility of confirming the completeness of endoscopic resection. Because of the risk of cancer development also in gastric mucosa outside the polyp, neighboring fragments of gastric mucosa should undergo microscopic investigations. This procedure allows for identification of patients who can benefit most from oncological endoscopic surveillance. If Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) infection of the gastric mucosa is confirmed, treatment strategies should include eradication of bacteria, which may prevent progression of intestinal metaplasia. The efficacy of H. pylori eradication should be checked 3-6 mo later.

AIM:To investigate morphological changes of intestinal smooth muscle contractile fibres in small bowel atresia ***:Resected small bowel specimens from small bowel atresia patients(n = 12) were divided into three sections(proximal,atretic and distal).Standard histology hematoxylin-eosin staining and enzyme immunohistochemistry was performed to visualize smooth muscle contractile markers-smooth muscle actin(SMA) and desmin using conventional paraffin sections of the proximal and distal *** bowel from agematched patients(n = 2) undergoing Meckel's diverticulum resection served as ***:The smooth muscle coat in the proximal bowel of small bowel atresia patients was thickened compared with control tissue,but the distal bowel was *** of smooth muscle contractile fibres SMA and desmin within the proximal bowel was slightly reduced compared with the distal bowel and control *** were no major differences in the architecture of the smooth muscle within the proximal bowel and the distal *** proximal and distal bowel in small bowel atresia patients revealed only minimal differences regarding smooth muscle morphology and the presence of smooth muscle contractile filament ***:Changes in smooth muscle contractile filaments do not appear to play a major role in postoperative motility disorders in small bowel atresia.

The paper presents the principles and the results of the implementation of dielectrophoresis for separation and identification of rare cells such as circulation tumor cells(CTCs)from diluted blood specimens in media and further label-free identification of the origins of separated cells using radio-frequency(RF)*** separation and the identification units use same fabrication methods which enable system integration on the same *** designs use the advantage of higher surface volume ratio which represents the particular feature for micro-and *** blood in solution of sucrose–dextrose 1–10 is used for cell separation that yields more than 95.3% *** enhanced sensitivity in identification,RF imaging is performed in 3.5–1 solution of glycerol and *** cavity performance method is used to determine the constant permittivity of the cell *** results illustrated by the signature of specific cells subjected to RF imaging suggest a reliable label-free single cell detection method for identification of the type of CTC.
