Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) has brought negative effects to the environment produced by the materials that compose them. The proper implementation of management plans of WEEE should integrate measures to prevent, mitigate and correct these affectations. As an initial step, it is necessary to make a diagnosis of the current situation of WEEE management which is the objective of this work. The studied zone was composed by the municipalities of Tampico, Ciudad Madero and Altamira located in southeast Tamaulipas, Mexico. The descriptive analysis of technical and regulatory aspects of the current management system in the study area was developed, including generation rates and analysis of waste streams. Among the main results, the generation of WEEE was estimated in 2040.38 tons/year for 2013, distributed in the municipalities of Tampico with 830.93 tons/year, Altamira with 650.18 tons/year, and Ciudad Madero with 559.27 tons/year. This calculation was estimated using Mexico’s WEEE generation indicators. The analysis of waste streams includes five categories of WEEE, Televisions with 61% of the total generation, followed by sound devices with 18%, personal computers with 17%;mobile phones with 2% as well as fixed phones with 1%. In the study area, reports of Tampico’s municipality indicated that 96 tons of WEEE was collected in the city of Tampico in 2013. In México, the national legislation considers WEEE in the category of waste requiring special handling (WRSH), however, it exists an inadequacy in the environmental laws about the specific classification of this kind of debris that makes their effective management more difficult. no companies who provide a management or treatment operations for WEEE are reported in Tampico, or in the near region. In addition, despite an initial interest for the municipality to attend the WEEE problematic, it exists a lack of sensibility of the population in the absence of environmental education programs.

The process of identifying the attributes and relationships considered in an ontology is a complex task because there are many factors involved in the deterioration of environmental quality, the diversity of sources and data dispersion. This work presents an ontology that integrates the data required by an Environmental Quality Synoptic System (EQSS), which to date scatters in different Internet sites and concentrates by different agencies for example InEGI, COnABIO, SEMARnAT, CnA, among others. The methodology process consists of the collection of environmental information in Mexico through the application of computational techniques resulting ontology with environmental knowledge that will be processed by the system EQSS. Among the main advantages is than the selection and structure of information allow the automated generation of results in an environmental statement. The ontology proposal is based on knowledge of EQSS system that is based on the architecture of expert systems and through this important information for decision-making in regard to environmental quality and interaction with Geographic Information System (GIS) is obtained.

Objective: Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) has been previously reported to improve ovarian response in IVF for poor responders. Its effect remains uncertain. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of DHEA given during two years in our unit, in order to build hypothesis for a future randomized controlled trial. Design: Cohort of exposed and non-exposed DHEA study. Patient(s): 224 patients with AMH under 1.6 ng/ml undergoing IVF with a short antagonist protocol adding FSH and LH rec were enrolled for 327 IVF cycles. 176 patients had been treated with DHEA before IVF, and 151 had not. Intervention(s): none. Main Outcome Measure(s): Cancellation cycle rate, amount of gonadotrophins used, estradiol level on day six of stimulation, number of oocytes retrieved, metaphase II oocytes, blastocysts and frozen embryos, clinical pregnancy rate and miscarriage rate. Results: The cancellation rate was significantly higher in the group without DHEA (29.8% versus 13.1%, p = 0.002). The amount of gonadotrophins used for stimulation, the estradiol level on day six of stimulation, the number of oocytes retrieved, metaphase II oocytes, blastocysts, frozen embryos and miscarriage rate were not different in both groups. The clinical pregnancy rate per included patient in the DHEA group was 17.1% versus 8.6% in the non-treated group (p = 0.02). Conclusion: DHEA appears to improve clinical pregnancy rate by decreasing the cancellation rate.

背景抗PD-1/PD-L1单药治疗(肿瘤免疫单药治疗(CIT-mono))或联合铂类化疗(CIT-chemo)目前是转移性nSCLC患者的一线治疗方案。本研究旨在比较CITmono或CIT-chemo治疗对PD-L1高表达即肿瘤比例评分或肿瘤细胞≥50%的非鳞状(nsq)-nSCLC患者的疗效。方法基于去识别信息的真实世界数据的回顾性队列研究,纳入2016年10月24日至2019年2月28日期间,接受CITmono或CIT-chemo一线治疗的PD-L1高表达的转移性nsq-nSCLC患者,随访数据截至2020年2月28日。采用Kaplan-Meier法比较患者的总生存期(OS)和真实世界无进展生存期(rwPFS)。采用逆概率治疗加权法,根据影响预后的关键基线特征的差异调整风险比(aHR)。结果应用CIT-mono治疗的PD-L1高表达nsq-nSCLC患者较应用CITchemo治疗的患者年龄更大,且新发Ⅳ期肺癌更少。CITchemo组患者的中位随访时间为19.9个月,CIT-mono组为23.5个月,两组患者的中位OS和rwPFS无显著差异。对于既往无吸烟史的患者,与CIT-mono相比,CIT-chemo使患者的OS和rwPFS获得显著且有意义的改善,但是样本量较小(n=50;OS:HR=0.25,95%CI:0.07~0.83,交互P=0.02;rwPFS:HR=0.40,95%CI:0.17~0.95,交互P=0.04)。结论除了既往无吸烟史的患者亚组,对于一线CIT治疗方案,联合化疗并不能改善PD-L1高表达nsq-nSCLC患者的生存结局。

Wild-type potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) plants and their transformants harboring agrobacterial rolB or rolC genes under control of the patatin class I promoter were cultured in vitro. These plants were used as a source of single-node stem cuttings. The structure of native starch in tubers formed on cuttings was determined using methods of X-ray scattering and differential scanning microcalorimetry (DSC). It was found that in starch from tubers of rolB plants the melting temperature of crystalline lamella was lower and their thickness was less than that in wild-type potato. In tubers of rolC plants starch differed from starch in wild-type plants by a higher melting temperature, reduced melting enthalpy, and a greater thickness of crystalline lamellae. The melting of starch from tubers of rolC plants proceeded as the melting of two independent crystalline structures with melting temperatures of 338.0°K and 342.8°K. Overall data show that starches of different structure can be obtained by using transgenic approach.

Background Shedding of endothelial cells from damaged endothelium into the bl ood occurs in a variety of vascular disorders. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the utility of circulating endothelial cell (CEC) count as a diagnostic marker of non ST elevation acute coronary syndromes(ACSs). Methods and Result s CEC counts were determined immediately (H0), 4 hours (H4), and 8 hours (H8) a fter admission in 60 patients with documented non ST elevation ACS and 40 cont rol patients with no evidence of coronary artery disease. A total of 32 patients in the ACS group had elevated CEC counts (>3 cells/mL) in relation to early adm ission and single episode chest pain. Patients from the control group had norma l CEC counts. The interval between the chest pain episode and elevation was sign ificantly shorter for CEC than troponin I. no correlation was found between the 2 markers. Interestingly, a subgroup of ACS patients with initially normal tropo nin I levels had high CEC counts, thus allowing early diagnosis in 30%more case s. At H0, the mean area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was si gnificantly higher with the CEC count than with the troponin I level. At H4 and H8, the combined use of CEC and troponin was significantly better as a marker of ACS than CEC alone or troponin I alone. Conclusions This study demonstrates th at CEC count can be used as an early, specific, independent diagnostic marker fo r non ST elevation ACS. A combined strategy using CEC count and troponin I lev el could provide an effective diagnostic tool.
