Double-clamped bistable buckled beams demonstrate great versatility in various fields such as robotics,energy harvesting,and microelectromechanical system(MEMS).However,their design often requires time-consuming and expensive *** this work,we present a method to easily and rapidly design bistable buckled beams subjected to a transverse point *** on the Euler–Bernoulli beam theory,we establish a theoretical model of bistable buckled beams to characterize their snapthrough *** model is verified against the results from a finite element analysis(FEA)model,with maximum discrepancy less than 7%.By analyzing and simplifying our theoretical model,we derive explicit analytical expressions for critical behavioral values on the force-displacement curve of the *** behavioral values include critical force,critical displacement,and travel,which are generally sufficient for characterizing the snapthrough properties of a bistable buckled *** on these analytical formulas,we investigate the influence of a bistable buckled beam's key design parameters,including its actuation position and precompression,on its critical behavioral values,with our results validated by FEA *** analytical method enables fast and computationally inexpensive design of bistable buckled beams and can guide the design of complicated systems that incorporate bistable mechanisms.

The Thoracic Electrical Bioimpedance(TEB)helps to determine the stroke volume during cardiac *** measuring cardiac signal it is contaminated with *** commonly encountered artifacts are Baseline wander(BW)and Muscle artifact(MA),these are physiological and *** the nature of these artifacts is random,adaptive filtering is needed than conventional fixed coefficient filtering *** address this,a new block based adaptive learning scheme is proposed to remove artifacts from TEB signals in clinical *** proposed block least mean square(BLMS)algorithm is mathematically normalized with reference to data and *** normalization leads,block normalized LMS(BNLMS)and block error normalized LMS(BENLMS)*** adaptive artifact cancellers are developed in both time and frequency domains and applied on real TEB quantities contaminated with physiological *** ability of these techniques is measured by calculating signal to noise ratio improvement(SNRI),Excess Mean Square Error(EMSE),and Misadjustment(Mad).Among the considered algorithms,the frequency domain version of BENLMS algorithm removes the physiological artifacts effectively then the other counter ***,this adaptive artifact canceller is suitable for real time applications like wearable,remove health care monitoring units.

Liver fibrosis is characterised by excessive deposition of extracellular matrix that interrupts normal liver functionality. It is a pathological stage in several untreated chronic liver diseases such as the iron overload syndrome hereditary haemochromatosis, viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and diabetes. Interestingly, regardless of the aetiology, iron-loading is frequently observed in chronic liver diseases. Excess iron can feed the Fenton reaction to generate unquenchable amounts of free radicals that cause grave cellular and tissue damage and thereby contribute to fibrosis. Moreover, excess iron can induce fibrosis-promoting signals in the parenchymal and non-parenchymal cells, which accelerate disease progression and exacerbate liver pathology. Fibrosis regression is achievable following treatment, but if untreated or unsuccessful, it can progress to the irreversible cirrhotic stage leading to organ failure and hepatocellular carcinoma, where resection or transplantation remain the only curative options. Therefore,understanding the role of iron in liver fibrosis is extremely essential as it can help in formulating iron-related diagnostic, prognostic and treatment strategies. These can be implemented in isolation or in combination with the current approaches to prepone detection, and halt or decelerate fibrosis progression before it reaches the irreparable stage. Thus, this review narrates the role of iron in liver fibrosis. It examines the underlying mechanisms by which excess iron can facilitate fibrotic responses. It describes the role of iron in various clinical pathologies and lastly,highlights the significance and potential of iron-related proteins in the diagnosis and therapeutics of liver fibrosis.

Objective:To search adequate epidemiological data on periodontal conditions for the planning of oral health programs in Indian population,and to determine the prevalence of periodontal diseases,in regards to age and gender of urban and rural population in West ***. Methods:22 542 subjects aged 15 years onwards,representative of rural and urban areas of West Bengal were examined for their periodontal conditions using the community periodontal index(CPI).Results:Supra and/or sub gingival calculus dominated as the most frequent score (score 2) among males(76.51%) and females(76.58%),which was least affected in young age group and higher in rural *** of highest score were significant(P<0.001) according to their gender,age group and habitation and had independent effects(P<0.001) on it. Mean number of sextants affected by scores 1,2,3,& 4 were more in the rural *** treatment needed was predominantly typeⅡ(Scaling and improved oral hygiene).Conclusions: The severe periodontal condition(Score 2,3 and 4) is observed among rural males in older age group more than its urban counterparts of West Bengal,India.

Electric vehicles(EVs)have gained prominence in the present energy transition *** adoption of EVs necessitates an accurate State of Charge estimation(SoC)*** predictive SoC estimations with smart charging strategies not only optimizes charging efficiency and grid reliability but also extends battery lifespan while continuously enhancing the accuracy of SoC predictions,marking a crucial milestone in sustainable electric vehicle *** this research study,machine learning methods,particularly Artificial Neural Networks(ANN),are employed for SoC estimation of LiFePO4 batteries,resulting in efficient and accurate estimation *** investigation first focuses on developing a custom-designed battery pack with 12V,4 Ah capacity with a facility for real-time data collection through a dedicated hardware *** voltage,current and open-circuit voltage of the battery are monitored with computerized battery *** battery temperature is sensed with a DHT22 temperature sensor interfaced with Raspberry *** components are derived for the collected battery data set and analyzed for feature *** principal components were generated as input parameters for the developed *** Stopping for the ANN was also implemented to achieve faster convergence of the *** considering eleven combinations for ten different optimizers loss function is *** analysis of hyperparameter tuning and optimizer selection revealed that the Adafactor optimizer with specific settings produced the best results with an RMSE value of 0.4083 and an R2 Score of *** proposed algorithm was also implemented for two different types of datasets,a UDDS drive cycle and a standard cell-level *** results obtained were in line with the results obtained with the ANN model developed based on the data collected from the developed experimental setup.

Eu（ Ⅲ ） can be utilized as an indirect electrochemical probe to investigate the interaction of bio-molecules such as DOPA and Dopamine with Ca（ Ⅱ ） in vitro. The interaction of DOPA and Dopamine with Eu（ Ⅲ ）-Eu（ Ⅱ ） redox pair was investigated by electrochemical techniques. Both the neurotransmitters are structurally related and undergo interaction with Eu （Ⅲ ）. Eu （ Ⅲ ） coordinates with DOPA and Dopamine through five-member chelate tings via carboxylic oxygen and amino nitrogen. The electrode kinetic parameters viz, transfer coefficient （αna）, diffusion coefficient （D）, forward heterogeneous rate constant （ k^0 fh） were evaluated for Eu（ Ⅲ ）-DOPA/Eu（ Ⅲ ）-Dopamine. The results obtained were used to investigate the nature of interaction of Eu （Ⅲ） with muhi-donor biomolecules. The possible mechanism was also proposed.
