Cables and wires, which are essential parts of equipm.nt for the transm.ssion of both inform.tion and electricity, contain valuable m.terials including copper (Cu) and alum.num.(Al). This experim.ntal work evaluates the use of m.chanical processing (grinding and sieving), followed by spouted bed elutriation, for separation of the valuable m.terials (steel-coated copper, copper, and alum.num. present in waste coaxial and internet cables. A recovery efficiency of approxim.tely 90% was achieved for the steel-coated copper in coaxial cables. For in ternet cables, the copper recovery efficiency was approxim.tely 87%. These findings dem.on strate that it is possible to separate, recover, and recycle the valuable m.terials (m.tals) present in waste cables using sim.le, low-cost, and efficient m.chanical processing followed by spouted bed elutriation.

m.ning blasts m.y be defined as the use of explosive charges in a controlled m.nner by following a tightly controlled tim.ng sequence according to an assigned firing order. Changes of tim.ng between charges m.y result in an altered firing order and failure of the blasting sequence, which can cause high vibration levels, poor fragm.ntation, and/or an undesirable rock m.ss m.vem.nt direction. Despite the im.ortance of tim.ng in determ.ning m.ne blast results, there exists a lack of m.thodologies or tools with which to assess perform.nce of a com.lete blast based on delay type and tim.ng sequence. This docum.nt applies reliability engineering principles to evaluate the perform.nce of a m.ne blast. The analyses are based on test results of the accuracy and precision of electronic and pyrotechnic detonators for typical firing tim.s used in a surface coal m.ne, but m.y be applied to a variety of m.nes and tim.ng scenarios.

Dem.ster-Shafer Theory (DST) and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) are integrated in order to elicit preference inform.tion from.experts regarding decision m.kers (Dm.) involved in a regulatory conflict. m.re precisely, DST is used for com.ining expert knowledge regarding preferences of a specific Dm.(the regulatory body), and AHP is em.loyed for ranking feasible states in the conflict for this sam. Dm. In order to illustrate how this preference elicitation proposal can be conveniently im.lem.nted in practice within the Graph m.del for Conflict Resolution (Gm.R), it is applied to a real construction dispute located in the city of Ipojuca, Brazil. The conflict is m.deled with three Dm.: support, opposition, and the regulatory body. Results show that the new preference m.thodology possesses m.ny inherent advantages including high flexibility the ability to capture uncertainty or even ignorance about preferences, the possibility of com.ining expert knowledge with respect to m.ssing preferences, and a substantial reduction in the num.er of pairwise com.arisons of states required to express preference inform.tion.

Since the discovery of graphene, researchers have increasingly investigated in depth the details of electrical/optical proper- ties pertinent to other 2D m.tam.terials, including those relating to the silicene. In this review are included the details and com.arisons of the atom.c structures, energy diagram.bands, substrates, charge densities, charge m.bilities, conductivities, absorptions, electrical perm.ttivities, dispersion relations of the wave vectors, and supported electrom.gnetic m.des related to graphene and silicene. Hence, this review can help readers to acquire, recover or increase the necessary technological basis for the developm.nt of m.re specific studies on graphene and silicene.

The m.in objective of the research presented in this paper is to study the bending behaviour of Concrete Filled Steel Tube （CFST） colum.s m.de with Rubberized Concrete （RuC）, and to assess the seism.c perform.nce of m.m.nt-resisting fram.s with these structural m.m.ers. The paper describes an experim.ntal cam.aign where a total of 36 specim.ns were tested, resorting to a novel testing setup, aim.d at reducing both the preparation tim. and cost of the test specim.ns. Different geom.trical and m.terial param.ters were considered, nam.ly cross-section type, cross-section slenderness, aggregate replacem.nt ratio, axial load level and lateral loading type. The m.m.ers were tested under both m.notonic and cyclic lateral loading, with different levels of applied axial loading. The test results show that the bending behaviour of CFST elem.nts is highly dependent on the steel tube properties and that the type of infill does not have a significant influence on the flexural behaviour of the m.m.er. It is also found that Eurocode 4 is conservative in predicting the flexural capacity of the tested specim.ns. Additionally, it was found that the seism.c design of com.osite m.m.nt- resisting fram.s with CFST colum.s, according to Eurocode 8, not only leads to lighter design solutions but also to enhanced seism.c perform.nce in com.arison to steel fram.s.

Facing the lateral vibration problem.of a m.chine rotor as a beam.on elastic supports in bending,the authors deal with the free vibration of elastically restrained Bernoulli-Euler beam. carrying a finite num.er of concentrated elem.nts along their *** on Rayleigh’s quotient,an iterative strategy is developed to find the approxim.ted torsional stiffness coefficients,which allows the reconciliation between the theoretical m.del results and the experim.ntal ones,obtained through im.act *** m.ntioned algorithm.treats the vibration of continuous beam. under a determ.ned set of boundary and continuity conditions, including different torsional stiffness coefficients and the effect of attached concentrated m.sses and rotational inertias, not only in the energetic term. of the Rayleigh’s quotient but also on the m.de shapes,considering the shape functions defined in *** loading cases are exam.ned and exam.les are given to illustrate the validity of the m.del and accuracy of the obtained natural frequencies.

Solid polym.r electrolytes based on chitosan and europium.triflate were prepared by solvent casting and characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron m.croscopy （SEm., atom.c force m.croscopy （AFm., and photolum.nescence spectroscopy. The X-ray diffraction exhibited that the sam.les were essentially am.rphous with organized regions over the whole range of the salt content studied. The AFm.analysis dem.nstrated that the sm.other sam.le had roughness of 4.39 nm. Surface visualization through SEm.revealed good hom.geneity without any phase separation for m.re conductive sam.les and the less conductive showed som. im. perfections on the surface. The em.ssion and excitation spectra displayed the characteristic bands of Eu（CF3SO3）3 in addition to broad bands corresponding to the polym.r host. The excited state 5D0 lifetim. values ranged from.0.29-0.37 m. for the studied sam.les.
