Cardiovascular diseases are the main.cause of morbidity an. mortality in.the world, an. obesity an. the metabolic syn.rome are risk factors for its developmen.. On. of the therapies to reduce cardiovascular risk is the use of polyun.aturated fatty acids. In.Brazil, a source of such acid is the oil extracted from the fat of the capybara. The objective of this work is to study the effects of the capybara oil on.lipid an. glucose metabolism, as well as its effects on.the adipose tissue an. cardiac remodelin.. We assessed the effects of capybara oil treatmen. on.body mass, lipid an. carbohydrate metabolism, systolic blood pressure, adipose tissue an. cardiac remodelin., an. performed an.ultrastructural evaluation.of the myocardium in.C57Bl/6 mice treated with high-fat diet. Treatmen. with capybara oil reduced total cholesterol an. triglyceride levels, systolic blood pressure, visceral an. subcutan.ous adipose tissue, an. adipocyte diameter. In.addition. cardiac remodelin. was atten.ated, preservin. cardiomyocytes, in.reasin. vascularization. reducin. cardiomyocyte hypertrophy an. the extracellular matrix, an. preservin. the morphological in.egrity of mitochon.ria. Capybara oil has several ben.ficial effects on.the cardiovascular an. metabolic system, an. further studies are n.eded to better un.erstan. its role in.the preven.ion.or treatmen. of cardiovascular diseases.

This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility an. safety of sin.le-balloon.en.eroscopy-assisted en.oscopic retrograde cholan.iopan.reatography(SBE-ERCP) to treat biliopan.reatic pathology in.patien.s with Whipple's pan.reaticoduoden.ctomy surgical varian.s. Methods: We retrospectively an.lyzed 106 SBE-ERCP procedures in.46 patien.s with Whipple's varian.s. Techn.cal an. clin.cal success rates an. adverse even.s were evaluated. Results: Biliary SBE-ERCP was performed in.34 patien.s an. pan.reatic SBE-ERCP in.17, in.ludin. 5 with both in.ication.. From a total of 106 SBE-ERCP procedures, 76 were biliary in.ication.with techn.cal success rate of 68/76(90%) procedures an. clin.cal success rate of 30/34(88%) patien.s. Mild adverse even. rate was 8/76(11%), without serious adverse even.s. From a total of 106 SBE-ERCP procedures, 30 were pan.reatic in.ication.with techn.cal success rate of 24/30(80%) procedures( P = 0.194 vs. biliary SBEERCP) an. clin.cal success rate of 11/17(65%) patien.s( P = 0.016 vs. biliary SBE-ERCP). This work shows that despite a lattice mismatch of almost 20%, CdMn.e/CdTe/CdMn.e heterostructures grown.directly on.Si(111) have surprisin.ly good optical emission.properties. The in.estigated structures were grown.by molecular beam epitaxy an. characterized by scan.in. tran.mission.electron.microscopy, macro-an. micro-photolumin.scen.e. Low temperature macro-photolumin.scen.e experimen.s in.icate three emission.ban.s which depen. on.the CdTe layer thickn.ss an. have differen. con.in.men. characteristics. Temperature measuremen.s reveal that the lower en.rgy emission.ban. (at 1.48 eV)is associated to defects an. boun. exciton.states, while the main.emission.at 1.61 eV has a weak 2D character an. the higher en.rgy on. at 1.71 eV has a well-defin.d (zero-dimen.ion.l, 0D) 0D n.ture. Micro-photolumin.scen.e measuremen.s show the existen.e of sharp an. stron.ly circularly polarized (up to 40%) emission.lin.s which can.be related to the presen.e of Mn.in.the heterostructure. This result open. the possibility of producin. photon.sources with the typical spin.con.rol of the diluted magn.tic semicon.uctors usin. the low-cost silicon.techn.logy.
