During the first wave of the pandemic,coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)infection has been considered mainly as a pulmonary ***,different clinical and radiological manifestations were observed over time,including involvement of abdominal ***,the liver is considered one of the main affected abdominal *** involvement may be caused by either a direct damage by the virus or an indirect damage related to COVID-19 induced thrombosis or to the use of different *** clinical assessment,radiology plays a key role in the evaluation of liver ***(US),computed tomography(CT)and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)may be used to evaluate liver *** is widely available and it is considered the first-line technique to assess liver involvement in COVID-19 infection,in particular liver steatosis and portal-vein *** and MRI are used as second-and third-line techniques,respectively,considering their higher sensitivity and specificity compared to US for assessment of both parenchyma and *** review aims to the spectrum of COVID-19 liver involvement and the most common imaging features of COVID-19 liver damage.

The liver is one of the organs most commonly involved in metastatic disease,especially due to its unique ***’s well known that liver metastases represent the most common hepatic malignant *** a practical point of view,it’s of utmost importance to evaluate the presence of liver metastases when staging oncologic patients,to select the best treatment possible,and finally to predict the overall *** the past few years,imaging techniques have gained a central role in identifying liver metastases,thanks to ultrasonography,contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT),and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).All these techniques,especially CT and MRI,can be considered the noninvasive reference standard techniques for the assessment of liver involvement by *** the other hand,the liver can be affected by different focal lesions,sometimes benign,and sometimes *** these bases,radiologists should face the differential diagnosis between benign and secondary lesions to correctly allocate patients to the best *** the above-mentioned principles,it’s extremely important to underline and refresh the broad spectrum of liver metastases features that can occur in everyday clinical *** review aims to summarize the most common imaging features of liver metastases,with a special focus on typical and atypical appearance,by using MRI.

The purposes of this study are to assess the COVID-19 pandemic’s impacts on the dairy industries in China and the United States and to derive policy recommendations for enhancing the diary industries’resilience to pandemics and other market ***,data from the two nations are used to analyze and compare the mechanisms through which the pandemic has affected their dairy industries and to discuss potential lessons from their *** findings suggest that this pandemic has heavily affected the dairy industries in both China and the United States through similar mechanisms,such as decreased farmgate milk prices,disruption and difficulties of moving milk within the supply chains,worker shortages,increased production costs,and lack of operating *** were also significant differences in the affecting mechanisms between the two nations,including transportation difficulties from widespread road closures and significant reduction in holiday sales of dairy products in China,and the shutdown of many dairy processors in the United States due to the closing of schools,restaurants,and *** government financial reliefs are highly needed to help many dairy farms and processors survive this pandemic in the short term,the dairy industries and governments need to work together to develop long-term strategies and policies to balance the industries’efficiency and flexibility,product specialization and diversification,supply chain integration and local food systems,and market mechanisms and policy regulations and interventions.

AIM: To evaluate the prevalence of lactose intolerance (LI) following a load of 12.5 g in patients diagnosed as high-grade malabsorbers using the hydrogen breath test (HBT)-***: Ninety patients showing high-grade malabsorption at HBT-25 were submitted to a second HBT with a lactose load of 12.5 *** hydrogen production,area under the curve of hydrogen excretion and occurrence of symptoms were ***: Only 16 patients (17.77%) with positive HBT-25 proved positive at *** production was lower as compared to HBT-25 (peak value 21.55 parts per million (ppm) ± 29.54 SD vs 99.43 ppm ± 40.01 SD; P < 0.001).Symptoms were present in only 13 *** absence of symptoms during the high-dose test has a high negative predictive value (0.84) for a negative low-dose *** presence of symptoms during the first test was not useful for predicting a positive low-dose test (positive predictive value 0.06-0.31).CONCLUSION: Most patients with a positive HBT-25 normally absorb a lower dose of lactose and a strict lactose restriction on the basis of a "standard" HBT is,in most instances,***,the 25 g lactose tolerance test should probably be substituted by the 12.5 g test in the diagnosis of LI,and in providing dietary guidelines to patients with suspected lactose malabsorption/intolerance.

K-ras wild-type carcinoma is a tumour that is sensitive to treatment with anti-cancer and anti-EGFR drugs: the combination of Cetuximab and Panitumumab with chemotherapy (Cetuximab) or as a single therapy (Panitumumab). Case Report: The clinical case presented here refers to a 68-year-old patient who had been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the recto sigmoid with pelvic recurrence three years after surgery. The patient had a severe co-morbidity: correlated B-type liver cirrhosis. First-line chemotherapy was begun with Oxaliplatin plus Capecitabine (CAPOXI) following a relapse, and this continued for six months (six cycles), when the treatment was interrupted because of the disease’s progression and hematological and gastrointestinal toxicity. Following an assessment of the K-ras, diagnosed as wild type, the patient was excluded from second-line chemotherapy treatment because of decompensated cirrhosis and the persistence of thrombocytopenia and leukopenia. The patient was put forward for biological treatment with an anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody (Panitumumab). Panitumumab was administered at a dosage of 6 mg/kg every 2 weeks for 17 months;the treatment was well tolerated, despite the cirrhosis, and the main toxicity was the skin rash. Conclusion: In patients with severe comorbidities such as cirrhosis of the liver and K-ras wild-type carcinomas, therapy with a monoclonal antibody such as Panitumumab is a treatment that is well tolerated, with few serious toxic side-effects;it also offers advantages in terms of survival and clinical benefits.
