Introduction: Transition of care strategies have shown to improve quality of lives of heart failure patients, but it has little implemented in clinical settings. Objective: To evaluate context-specific perceived barriers and experiences of heart failure patients during their admission and after they were discharged from hospital. Methods: A cross-sectional qualitative study was conducted among 13 heart failure patients at two large referral hospitals in northwestern Tanz.nia. In-depth interviews among heart failure patients, in line with the Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative research checklist, were used to collect data. Interviews were audio recorded, transcribed, and translated into English. Results: Three key barriers were identified, as well as possible solutions that could improve the transition of care for heart failure patients. These include strengthening healthcare provider communications, organiz.ng medication management, and assisting with follow-up appointments. Conclusion: The barriers identified are real and challenging in clinical resource- limited settings. Findings suggest they can be overcome when realistic and tailor-made interventions are in place.

Design approaches were proposed for both continuous and discrete LQI (linear quadratic with integral) controllers, if exist, to stabiliz. the inner loops in addition to stabiliz.ng the closed loops and minimiz.ng the quadratic cost functionals. Derived from the algebraic Riccati equations involved in continuous and discrete LQI control, the design approaches were straightforward obtained by setting the quadratic cost functionals to decoupled forms with positive definite weighting matrices. Examples were provided to verify the effectiveness of the approaches.

A moving collocation method has been shown to be very effcient for the adaptive solution of second- and fourth-order time-dependent partial differential equations and forms the basis for the two robust codes MOVCOL and MOVCOL4. In this paper, the relations between the method and the traditional collocation and finite volume methods are investigated. It is shown that the moving collocation method inherits desirable properties of both methods： the ease of implementation and high-order convergence of the traditional collocation method and the mass conservation of the finite volume method. Convergence of the method in the maximum norm is proven for general linear two-point boundary value problems. Numerical results are given to demonstrate the convergence order of the method.

The sessile life style of plants creates the need to deal with an often adverse environment, in which water availability can change on a daily basis, challenging the cellular physiology and integrity. Changes in os- motic conditions disrupt the equilibrium of the plasma membrane： hypoosmotic conditions increase and hyperosmotic environment decrease the cell volume. Here, we show that short-term extracellular osmotic treatments are closely followed by a shift in the balance between endocytosis and exocytosis in root mer- istem cells. Acute hyperosmotic treatments （ionic and nonionic） enhance clathrin-mediated endocytosis simultaneously attenuating exocytosis, whereas hypoosmotic treatments have the opposite effects. In addition to clathrin recruitment to the plasma membrane, components of early endocytic trafficking are essential during hyperosmotic stress responses. Consequently, growth of seedlings defective in elements of clathrin or early endocytic machinery is more sensitive to hyperosmotic treatments. We also found that the endocytotic response to a change of osmotic status in the environment is dominant over the presum- ably evolutionary more recent regulatory effect of plant hormones, such as auxin. These results imply that osmotic perturbation influences the balance between endocytosis and exocytosis acting through clathrin- mediated endocytosis. We propose that tension on the plasma membrane determines the addition or removal of membranes at the cell surface, thus preserving cell integrity.

In traditional body-centered cubic(bcc)metals,the core properties of screw dislocations play a critical role in plastic deformation at low ***,much attention has been focused on refractory high-entropy alloys(RHEAs),which also possess bcc crystal ***,unlike face-centered cubic high-entropy alloys(HEAs),there have been far fewer investigations into bcc HEAs,specifically on the possible effects of chemical short-range order(SRO)in these multiple principal element alloys on dislocation ***,using density functional theory,we investigate the distribution of dislocation core properties in MoNbTaW RHEAs alloys,and how they are influenced by *** average values of the core energies in the RHEA are found to be larger than those in the corresponding pure constituent bcc metals,and are relatively insensitive to the degree of ***,the presence of SRO is shown to have a large effect on narrowing the distribution of dislocation core energies and decreasing the spatial heterogeneity of dislocation core energies in the *** is argued that the consequences of the mechanical behavior of HEAs is a change in the energy landscape of the dislocations,which would likely heterogeneously inhibit their motion.
