The identification of jets originating from.quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an im.ortant role in various analyses perform.d at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard m.del m.asurem.nts and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the m.asurem.nt of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated lum.nosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high perform.nces in rejecting jets from.gluon over jets from.quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirem.nts on the num.er of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other com.ines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A m.thod is established to determ.ne the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsam.les defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and sim.lation are provided for jets with transverse m.m.ntum.between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for m.ltiple tagger working points.

Evaluation of a Wireless Solar Powered Personal Weather Station

We are evaluating dryland cotton production in m.rtin County, Texas, m.asuring cotton lint yield per unit of rainfall. Our goal is to collect rainfall data per 250 - 400 ha. Upon selection of a rainfall gauge, we realized that the cost of using, for exam.le, a tipping bucket-type rain gauge would be too expensive and thus searched for an alternative m.thod. We selected an all-in-one com.ercially available weather station;hereafter, referred to as a Personal Weather Station (PWS) that is both wireless and solar powered. Our objective was to evaluate average m.asurem.nts of rainfall obtained with the PWS and to com.are these to m.asurem.nts obtained with an autom.tic weather station (AWS). For this purpose, we installed four PWS deployed within 20 m.of the Plant Stress and Water Conservation m.teorological Tower that was used as our AWS, located at USDA-ARS Cropping System. Research Laboratory, Lubbock, TX. In addition, we m.asured and com.ared hourly average values of short-wave irradiance (Rg), air tem.erature (Tair) and relative hum.dity (RH), and wind speed (WS), and calculated values of dewpoint tem.erature (Tdew). This com.arison was done over a 242-day period (1 October 2022-31 m.y 2023) and results indicated that there was no statistical difference in m.asurem.nts of rainfall between the PWS and AWS. Hourly average values of Rg m.asured with the PWS and AWS agreed on clear days, but PWS m.asurem.nts were higher on cloudy days. There was no statistical difference between PWS and AWS hourly average m.asurem.nts of Tair, RH, and calculated Tdew. Hourly average m.asurem.nts of Rg and WS were m.re variable. We concluded that the PWS we selected will provide adequate values of rainfall and other weather variables to m.et our goal of evaluating dryland cotton lint yield per unit rainfall.

Background There is increasing epidem.ological evidence supporting the association between onchocerciasis and seizures, reinforcing the concept of onchocerciasis-associated epilepsy (OAE). The aim.of this paper is to provide an update on the new knowledge about OAE and to propose recom.endations to the World Health Organization how to address this public health *** text During the 2nd International Workshop on OAE held on 19-21 Septem.er, 2023, in Antwerp, Belgium. participants recognised OAE as a substantial yet neglected public health problem. particularly in areas of sub-Saharan Africa where onchocerciasis rem.ins hyperendem.c. Evidence from.prospective population-based studies suggest that strengthening onchocerciasis elim.nation efforts leads to a significant reduction of OAE incidence. There is a need to validate an OAE case definition to estim.te the burden of disease and identify onchocerciasis-endem.c areas requiring intensification of onchocerciasis elim.nation program.es and integration of epilepsy care. It is expected that raising awareness about OAE will boost the population uptake of iverm.ctin. The im.lem.ntation of a com.unity-based epilepsy treatm.nt program.e offering free anti-seizure m.dications (ASm.) has shown high effectiveness in reducing the frequency of seizures and im.roving the overall quality of life of people with *** To reduce OAE burden, enhanced collaboration between onchocerciasis and m.ntal health program.es at com.unity, national, and international levels is required. Urgent efforts are needed to ensure the uninterrupted provision of free ASm. in onchocerciasis-endem.c areas. Electrical and electronic devices are becom.ng an increasingly im.ortant part of our society. In Africa, and in Senegal in particular, the handling and m.nagem.nt of electronic and electrical equipm.nt (EEE) that has reached the end of its life is m.inly inform.l. This professional environm.nt is characterized by the disintegration of the sector and the social heterogeneity that can be found there. The objective of this study is to assess the standard of living of electrical and electronic equipm.nt waste handlers in the Dakar region, as well as their perception of their health. A survey was used to obtain inform.tion on sociodem.graphic background, living arrangem.nts, perception of health status, and good practices to be im.lem.nted in case of work-related health problem.. Life style, perception of general health and health problem. were ranged as excellent, very good, good, average and poor. Inform.l recyclers in the Dakar region lived m.inly in room. and buildings as tenants (49.1%), or in fam.ly hom.s (48.4%) before starting this activity, and 51.2% continue to live in room. and buildings as tenants com.ared to 41.4% who still live in a fam.ly hom.. The perception of health status ranged from.poor to excellent, and 4.9% believe that they are lim.ted in work due to a disability or health problem. Inform.l work is a heterogeneous phenom.non that m.kes research and policym.king particularly com.lex. There are several external factors within inform.l WEEE re-cyclers that can cause health problem. or functional disability. However, the living conditions and the perception they have of their state of health are contradictory to the working conditions and the social environm.nt to which they belong. A biom.dical approach would consolidate these achievem.nts by confirm.ng or invalidating them.

For the applications of the frequency com. in m.croresonators,it is essential to obtain a fully frequency-stabilized m.crocom. laser *** this study,we present a system.for generating a fully atom.referenced stabilized soliton *** pum. light around 1560.48 nm.is locked to an ultra-low-expansion(ULE)*** pum. light is then frequency-doubled and referenced to the atom.c transition *** repetition rate of the soliton m.crocom. is injection-locked to an atom.c-clockstabilized radio frequency(RF)source,leading to m.z stabilization at 1 *** a result,all com. lines have been frequencystabilized based on the atom.c reference and the ULE cavity,achieving a very high precision of approxim.tely 18 Hz at 1 s,corresponding to the frequency stability of 9.5×10^(-14).Our approach provides a fully stabilized m.crocom. experim.nt schem. with no requirem.nt of f-2f technique,which could be easily im.lem.nted and generalized to various photonic platform.,thus paving the way towards the ultraprecise optical sources for high precision spectroscopy.
