Today, an ever increasing number of natural scientists use computers for data analysis, modeling, simulation and visualization of complex problems. However, in the last decade the computer architecture has changed significantly, making it increasingly difficult to fully utilize the power of the processor, unless the scientist is a trained programmer. The reasons for this shift include the change from single-core to multi-core processors, as well as the decreasing price of hardware, which allows researchers to build cluster computers made from commodity hardware. Therefore, scientists must not only be able to handle multi-core processors, but also the problems associated with writing distributed memory programs and handle communication between hundreds of multi-core machines. Fortunately, there are a number of systems to help the scientist e.g. Message Parsing interface (MPi) [1] for handling communication, DistnumPy [2] for handling data distribution and Communicating Sequential Processes (CSP) [3] for handling concurrency related problems. Having said that, it must be emphasized that all of these methods require that the scientists learn a new method and then rewrite their programs, which mean more work for the scientist. A solution that does not require much work for the scientists is automatic parallelization. However, research dating back three decades has yet to find fully automated parallelization as a feasible solution for programs in general, but some classes of programs can be automatically parallelized to an extent. This paper describes an external library which provides a Parallel. For loop construct, allowing the body of a loop to be run in Parallel across multiple networked machines, i.e. on distributed memory architectures. The individual machines themselves may be shared memory nodes of course. The idea is inspired by Microsoft’s Parallel Library that supplies multiple Parallel constructs. Techno-economic Appraisal of Biodiesel from Jatropha curcas： An Egyptian Case Study

Biodiesel （fatty acid methyl ester） has been identified as a non-toxic biodegradable alternative fuel that is obtained from renewable sources. Over the last decade, there has been increasing interest in producing biodiesel from conventional sources such as soybean, canola, sunflower, and coconut oils. Current efforts are directed towards the development of new non-edible resources. Among these Jatropha Curcas comes at the forefront. in Egypt, Jatropha Curcas has grown successfully using primary treated wastewater. Also, extensive R＆D efforts identified the optimum conditions for the various processing stages namely crushing, extraction, transesterification and purification. Based on the research findings, the techno-economic appraisal of biodiesel production from Jatropha Curcas is conducted. Two nominal capacities namely 8,000 and 50,000 metric tons/yr have been proposed. Several scenarios have been formulated to take into consideration varying productivity （3.4 to 5.8 ton fruits per 4,000 m^2 （acre）） and varying recovery rates of oil from seeds. Economic indicators including capital and production costs for the various processing stages and revenues according to current prices of oil and cake have been obtained. The price of biodiesel that provides a simple rate of return （SRR） on investments of 10% was in the range of $0.3-0.7/liter for the different assumed scenarios which is lower than the prevailing price of biodiesel （about $1/liter） in the US. Thus, in view of experimental results and economic assumptions, there are positive prospects for the production of biodiesel from Jatropha Curcas under Egyptian conditions.

This study proposes a hypodermic needle(Hn)as a sorbent holder and an electrospray(ESi)emitter,thus combining extraction and analysis in a single device.A novel nylon 6-cellulose(n6-Cel)composite sorbent is proposed to extract methadone from oral fluid *** cellulosic substrate provides the composite with high porosity,permitting the flow-through of the sample,while the polyamide contributes to the extraction of the *** low price of the devices(considering the holder and the sorbent)contributes to the affordability of the method,and their small size allows easy transportation,opening the door to on-site *** the optimum conditions,the analyte can be determined by high-resolution ambient ionization mass spectrometry at a limit of detection(LOD)as low as 0.3 mg/L and precision(expressed as relative standard deviation,RSD)better than 9.3%.The trueness,expressed as relative recovery(RR),ranged from 90%to 109%.As high-resolution mass spectrometers are not available in many laboratories,the method was also adapted to low-resolution *** this sense,the direct infusion of the eluates in a triple quadrupole-mass spectrometry provided an LOD of 2.2 mg/*** RSD was better than 5.3%,and the RR ranged from 96%to 121%.

Lycopene is a naturally occurring red carotenoid compound that is found in *** has antioxidant *** content,sugar content and hollowheart resistance are subject to significant genotype×environment interaction(G×E),which makes breeding for these fruit quality traits *** objectives of this study were to(i)evaluate the influence of years and locations on lycopene content,sugar content and hollowheart resistance for a set of watermelon genotypes,and(ii)identify genotypes with high stability for lycopene,sugar,and hollowheart resistance.A diverse set of 40 genotypes was tested over 3 years and 8 locations across the southern United States in replicated,multi-harvest *** was tested in a subset of 10 *** were analyzed using univariate and multivariate stability statistics(BLUP-GGE biplot)using SASGxE and RGxE *** were strong effects of environment as well as G×E interaction on watermelon quality *** the basis of stability measures,genotypes were classified as stable or unstable for each quality trait.'Crimson Sweet'is an inbred line with high quality trait performance as well as trait stability.'Stone Mountain','Tom Watson','Crimson Sweet'and'Minilee'were among the best genotypes for lycopene content,sugar content and hollowheart *** developed a stability chart based on marketable yield and average ranking generated from different stability measures for yield attributes and quality *** chart will assist in choosing parents for improvement of watermelon *** http://***/cucurbit/wmelon/***.

The study was designed to investigate into the level of cassava commercialization, extent of gender effects and other factors on household commercialization index （HCi） of cassava in both rural and peri-urban areas of Rivers State, nigeria. The study used a stratified random sampling technique to select 50 cassava farmers each from Etche and Ekwerre LGAs of the state （i.e. 100 farmers in all）. A set of structured questionnaire and interview schedule was used to retrieve information from the farmers. Data analysis was done using descriptive statistics, Chow test and truncated regression analysis model based on Maximum Likelihood derived from Censored normal or TOBiT approach. it was found that significant difference exist in the HC1 of rural farmers （49%） and peri-urban （40%）. The drivers of HCi varied across the areas but on the whole it was noted that gender, farm size, distance to market, labour, farming experience, price of cassava and access to market information signiftcantly influenced the probability of expanding the scale of commercialization of cassava in the area. it was recommended that government and interested bodies should give priority to women in designing and implementing cassava commercialization programmes policies that will improve farmers access to land and also help build on capacities of the farmers to commercialize such as access to extension service, establishment of market information service （MiS）, development of market and transport infrastructure were recommended too.

Predicting of repair and maintenance （R＆M） costs of tractors in any mechanized farm is necessary for owners and managers to obtain information on overall costs and to control financial balance and production economy. in this context a study was conducted to predict accumulated R＆M costs （Y） of two-wheel drive （2WD） tractors based on accumulated usage hours （X） in Misagh-e-Sabz Agribusiness Company in iran. Recorded data of the company were used to determine regression models for predicting accumulated R＆M costs （as percentage of initial purchase price） based on accumulated usage hours. The statistical results of the study indicated that in order to predict accumulated R＆M costs of 2WD tractors with accumulated usage hours of 2260 h or less the power regression model Y=0.013 （X/100）1.677 with R2=0.976, and to predict accumulated R＆M costs of 2WD tractors with accumulated usage hours of 2260 h or more the polynomial regression model Y=0.004 （X/100）2-0.181 （X/1 00）＋4.373 with R2=0.998 can be strongly suggested.
