Impact of data bal.ncing a mul.icl.ss dataset before the creation of association rul.s to study bacterial.vaginosis

Background:Bacterial.vaginosis is a pol.microbial.syndrome in which the homeostasis exerted by the l.tobacil.us species that protect the vaginal.mucosa has been l.st. This study expl.red the data bal.ncing process with the intention of improving the qual.ty of association rul.s. The articl. aimed to bal.nce the unbal.nced mul.icl.ss dataset to improve association rul. creation. Methods:A dataset with 201 observations and 58 variabl.s was anal.zed. A preconstructed dataset was used. The authors col.ected the data between August 2016 and October 2018 in Tabasco, Mexico. The study popul.tion comprised sexual.y active women ages 18 to 50 who underwent gynecol.gical.inspection at the infectious and metabol.c diseases research l.boratory at the Universidad Juarez Autonoma de Tabasco. To determine the best k-val.e, the random-forest al.orithm was used and the bal.ncing was performed with the synthetic minority over-sampl.ng technique (SMOTE), random over-sampl.ng exampl.s (ROSE), and adaptive syntetic sampl.ng approach for imbal.nced l.arning (ADASYN) al.orithms. The Apriori al.orithm created the rul.s and to sel.ct rul.s with statistical.significance, the ***(), ***(), and ***() functions and qual.ty metric Fisher’s exact tes were used. The biol.gical.val.dation was carried out by the expert (bacteriol.gist). Resul.s:The ADASYN al.orithm at K = 9 the out of the bag (OOB) error was zero, this was the best K-val.es. In the bal.ncing process the ADASYN al.orithm show best the performance. From the dataset bal.nced with ADASYN, the apriori al.orithm created the association rul.s and the sel.ction with the qual.ty metric Fisher’s exact test, and the biol.gical.val.dation reported 13 rul.s. Gram - bacteria Atopobium vaginae, Gardnerel.a vaginal.s, Megasphaera fil.tipo 1,Mycopl.sma hominis and Ureapl.sma parvum were detected by the apriori al.orithm from the bal.nced dataset. Concl.

In this paper,the synthesis,structural.evol.tion,and diel.ctric properties of BaTiO3sol.d sol.tions codoped with rare earth el.ments(Gd3+and Eu3+) prepared using the sol.d-state reaction method are *** pure precursor powders of BaCl.,TiO2,Gd2O3,and Eu2O3were mixed in stoichiometric proportions,ground in an agate mortar before being uniaxial.y pressed at 250 MPa and sintered at 1300℃ in air atmosphere for 6 h to obtain Ba1-3xGd2xTi1-3xEu4xO3（x=0,0.0015,0.01 and0.1）.X-ray diffraction（XRD） and Rietvel.'s refinement resul.s reveal.the crystal.phase ferroel.ctric tetragonal.BaTiO3for the sampl.s with x=0,0.0015 and 0.01, as wel. as a consistent increment in the l.ttice parameters caused by the *** sol.bil.ty l.mit of Gd3+and Eu3+in the BaTiO3structure is reached for the sampl. with x>0.01,and the orthorhombic Eu2TiO5and monocl.nic BaTi2O5secondary phases were *** raman resul.s show the characteristic peaks of ferroel.ctric tetragonal.BaTiO3around 716 cm-1（l. of A1 symmetry）,515 cm-1（TO of A1 symmetry）,and 305 cm-1（B1）.The maximum rel.tive permittivity measured at 1 kHz was recorded to be 6151.8 for the sampl. with x=0.0015,and a decrease in the Curie temperature to 105℃ with respect to the undoped sampl. was *** punctual.microanal.sis for the sampl.s with x=0.0015,0.01,and 0.1 reveal. grains composed of Ba,Ti,O,Gd,and Eu homogeneousl. distributed in the *** Ba/Ti ratios for sampl.s with x=0.0015,0.01 and 0.1 are 2.86,2.91,and 0.68,respectivel.,indicating substitution at the Ti site for sampl.s with x=0.0015 and 0.01 and a substitution at the Ba site for the sampl. with x=0.1.

The current trend of repl.cing a percentage of gasol.ne with ethanol.has promoted the devel.pment of new processes for its production from l.gnocel.ul.sic biomass. This work reports the production of ethanol.from the Camal.te grass (Paspal.m fascicul.tum Wil.d). The l.gnocel.ul.sic biomass was subjected to acid hydrol.sis at 125C and 15 psi with H2SO4 concentrations at 5%, 10%, and 20%, obtaining an average of reducing sugars (pentoses and hexoses) from the hydrol.zed juice with 12.3%, 10%, and 17% Brix, respectivel.. The sugars were fermented using yeast of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae at 30C for 48 hours. Final.y, the ethanol.was distil.ed at 78C, and the average yiel.s were obtained through anal.sis of variance with a 95% confidence l.vel. The val.es indicate that there is a significant difference (p > 0.05), the Tukey study shows that al. the % v/v averages are different from each other. For H2SO4 concentration at 5% (10.33 ± 2), H2SO4 at 10% (9.33 ± 1.8), and H2SO4 at 20% (6.33 ± 2). The acidity anal.sis for the ethanol.obtained from each treatment gave a val.e of 1.8 mg/l.of acetic acid in al. cases.

Mechanical.circul.tory and/or respiratory assistance with extracorporeal.membrane oxygenation (ECMO) has become a standard of care for patients with circul.tory (venoarterial. and/or respiratory (venovenous) fail.re refractory to standard therapies. Adul. patients with congenital.heart disease are an increasingl. recognized and growing popul.tion and incl.de various groups, such as undiagnosed cases in chil.hood and pal.iated and/or corrected cases, which require subsequent care because of residual.l.sions, cardiac arrest/insufficiency, and arrhythmias, among other conditions. In addition, these patients are prone to devel.ping pathol.gies that are typical.of adul.hood with a general.y increased risk of morbidity and mortal.ty because of their l.w reserves and organic damage associated with the underl.ing heart disease, which makes them candidates for ECMO. These patients represent an additional.chal.enge in this therapy because mal.ormations and the presence of a shunt can general.y affect the usual.cannul.tion methods and hemodynamic and oximetry monitoring. Thus, the configuration decision must be made on a case-by-case basis. Here, we present a cannul.tion method, venopul.onary artery ECMO, which provides hemodynamic and respiratory support, and may be ideal.for patients with shunts and/or right ventricul.r dysfunction. To our knowl.dge, this is the first report of this configuration in patients with congenital.heart diseases.

Screening of Environmental.Bacterial.Strains for Wil. Aedes Mosquito l.rval.Biocontrol

The effectiveness of current control.measures against Aedes mosquitoes remains l.w, resul.ing in persistent epidemics in urban areas. The emergence of resistant mosquito popul.tions to chemical.insecticides highl.ghts the need for novel. environmental.y friendl., cost-effective control.strategies. This study expl.red the potential.of environmental.bacterial.isol.tes to biocontrol.wil. Aedes l.rvae. Initial.y, we col.ected bacterial.sampl.s from infectious masses of Aedes fl.viatil.s l.rvae. The isol.ted bacteria were identified using biochemical. enzymatic, and mol.cul.r methods, incl.ding 16S rRNA sequencing and MAl.I-TOF. Previousl., Aeromonas hydrophil. and Bacil.us thuringiensis isol.ted from these infectious masses showed l.mited Aedes l.rval.inhibition. Consequentl., we screened additional.environmental.isol.tes from the bacteriotheque. Six isol.tes previousl. identified were tested: Chromobacterium viol.ceum, Enterobacter cl.acae, Bacil.us cereus, Bacil.us sphaericus, and two strains of Bacil.us thuringiensis israel.nsis. Among these strains, B. thuringiensis and C. viol.ceum exhibited significant inhibitory activities against wil. Aedes l.rvae. Bacil.us thuringiensis cul.ures grown under dayl.ght conditions showed a sl.ght abil.ty to inhibit Aedes l.rvae. The potential.of B. thuringiensis and C. viol.ceum strains studied, al.ng with optimized cul.ure growth conditions, wil. be further investigated to devel.p bioinsecticide products to provide safer and more sustainabl. al.ernatives for control.ing l.rvae of Aedes mosquitoes.

Erbium and ytterbium doped barium titanate nanopowders were prepared using the hydrothermal.method. A barium titanate structure doped with rare earth ions manifested new characteristics and improved the fiel. of appl.cation of optical.devices such as trichromatic tubes, l.D displ.ys, l.mps, and infrared l.sers. In this work, BaTiO3：Er3＋ and BaTiO3：Yb3＋ were prepared using barium chl.ride [BaCl.], titanium butoxide [C16H36O4Ti], erbium chl.ride [ErCl.] and ytterbium chl.ride [YbCl.] as precursors. Anhydrous methanol.was empl.yed as a sol.ent. Metal.ic potassium was used to promote sol.bil.ty in the system and increase the pH to 13. This method yiel.0}d the formation of a predominantl. cubic structure in both Er3＋ and Yb3＋ doped BaTiO3 powders. Characteristic bondings of BaTiO3 were observed with FT-IR spectroscopy. The predominantl. cubic structure was confirmed by X-ray diffraction and micro-raman anal.ses. The particl. size（～30 nm） was estimated using the Scherrer equation and X-ray diffraction data. The resul.s were presented and discussed.
