The multifunctionality and the advantages of thermal plasma for the fast inactivation of viable cells and degradation of organic compounds dissolved in waste water are presented.A complete bacterial inactivation process was observed and studied using a thermal plasma treatment source with very short application times,in particular for Staphylococcus aureus bundle spore *** survival curves and analyses of the experimental data of the initial and final densities of *** bacteria show a dramatic inhibitory effect of the plasma discharge on the residual bacteria survival *** the exposure time increased,the inactivation process rate increased for direct exposure more than it did for indirect *** evaluation of direct and indirect exposure was based on the analysis of the ultraviolet spectrum from the absorbance spectra of the organic compound dye called benzene sulfonate（C（16）H（11）N2Na O4S）and of viable cells called *** compounds were degraded and viable cells were killed in a short time by thermal ***,analyses of total carbon,total organic carbon,and total inorganic carbon showed a fast decrease in organically bound carbon,however,this was not as fast as the absorbance spectra revealed by the exposure time increasing more for direct exposure than indirect *** 100 s of exposure to the organic compound dye the removal had a maximun of 40%for samples with indirect exposure to the plasma and a maximum of 90%for samples with the direct *** both samples,where some organic contaminants still remained in treated water,four electrolytes（KCl,Na Cl,Na2SO4,and CH3COONa）were added to be effective for complete sterilization,reaching a purity of 100%.A proposal is made for an optimized thermal plasma water purification system（TPWPS）to improve fast inactivation of microbes and the degradation of organic compounds dissolved in water（especially for direct exposure rather than indirect exposure）using a hybrid plasma to

An environmental and economic assessment of the development of a plasma-chemical reactor equipped with plasma torches for the environmentally friendly treatment of waste streams by plasma is outlined with a view to the chemical and energetic valorization of the sustainability in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia（KSA）. This is especially applicable in the pilgrimage season in the city of Makkah, which is a major challenge since the amount of waste was estimated at about 750 thousand tons through Arabic Year 1435 H（2015）, and is growing at a rate of 3%–5% annually. According to statistics, the value of waste in Saudi Arabia ranges between 8 and 9 billion EUR. The Plasma-Treatment Project（PTP） encompasses the direct plasma treatment of all types of waste（from source and landfill）, as well as an environmental vision and economic evaluation of the use of the gas produced for fuel and electricity production in KSA, especially in the pilgrimage season in the holy city Makkah. The electrical power required for the plasmatreatment process is estimated at 5000 kW（2000 kW used for the operation of the system and 3000 kW sold）, taking into account the fact that：（1） the processing capacity of solid waste is 100 tons per day（2） and the sale of electricity amounts to 23.8 MW at 0.18 EUR per kWh.（3） The profit from the sale of electricity per year is estimated at 3.27 million EUR and the estimated profit of solid-waste treatment amounts to 6 million EUR per year and（4） the gross profit per ton of solid waste totals 8 million EUR per year. The present article introduces the first stage of the PTP, in Makkah in the pilgrimage season, which consists of five stages：（1） study and treatment of waste streams,（2） slaughterhouse waste treatment,（3） treatment of refuse-derived fuel,（4）treatment of car tires and（5） treatment of slag（the fifth stage associated with each stage from the four previous stages）.

A total of 5 biochemically characterized lipase positive bacterial strains were screened for Polyhydroxyalkanoates(PHA)production by Nile blue staining and confirmation was done by Sudan Black *** production ability for all strains was optimized followed by time profiling calculation and comparison via using glucose and two plant oils i.e.,canola and mustard *** analysis showed that glucose can serve as a carbon source for maximum biomass(2.5 g/L CDW for strain 5)and PHA production(70.3%for strain 2).PHA produced by strain 2 was further analyzed for its chemical composition and type via Fourier Transform Infrared(FT-IR)*** revealed homopolymer(PHB)and copolymer(PHB-co-PHV)production of PHA(peaks at 1743 cm-1 and 2861 cm-1,respectively)with both canola and mustard oil unlike glucose which produced only homopolymer one i.e.,PHB(peaks at 1110 cm-1,1411 cm-1 and 1650 cm-1).Crystallinity of FT-IR analyzed PHA was calculated using mathematical formulas which showed decrease from glucose to canola to mustard *** study revealed that plant oils can serve as better carbon source to produce better quality(ductile and copolymer)***,16S rRNA gene sequencing analysis showed that strain 1,strain 2,strain 3,strain 4 and strain 5 are Stenotrophomonas sp.N3,Exiguobacterium sp.N4,Exiguobacterium ***3,Cellulosimicrobium sp.A8 and Klebsiella ***2,respectively.

In this work,by simplifying the nanopores of porous C/C preform with single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNT)or double-walled carbon nanotubes(DWCNTs),the infiltration of liquid Si in the SWCNTs and DWCNTs was studied by molecular dynamics(MD)*** a result,a quantitative relationship between tube diameter and liquid Si infiltration rate was established,which has been successfully ap-plied to reproduce the available experiment *** obtained relationship indicates that the capillary infiltration of liquid Si at the nanoscale still conforms to the classic Lucas-Washburn law,however,the liquid Si infiltration quickly stops in small tubes with a diameter of less than 3 nm due to an obvious contraction of the tube *** work may provide theoretical guidance for pore structure optimization of porous C/C preform to fabricate high-density C/SiC composites.

废水中的合成染料会对人体健康和水生生物造成潜在的危害。由于废水中的染料由于其来源复杂,且其复杂的芳香分子结构不利于生物降解,因此通常不用生物方法来处理水体中的染料。刚果红(CR)和甲基橙(MO)是典型的阴离子染料,广泛应用于纺织业及造纸业。然而,一旦这些染料泄漏到水体中,即使很少的量也会对海洋中的生物和生物量造成影响。因此,寻找高效的处理水体中染料的方法尤为重要。吸附法是一种非常有效的分离技术,并已经广泛用于废水处理领域。在各类吸附剂中,层状双金属氢氧化物品(LDH)由于其独特的组成而作为环保材料,引起了广泛的关注。(1)本研究通过简单的水热法合成了LDH纳米棒。为了提高材料的吸附能力,将其在500℃下进行煅烧,采用XRD、FT-IR、SEM和TEM等手段对样品的结构和形貌进行了表征。结果表明,LDH呈现均匀的棒状结构,其宽度约为0.95μm。BET结果显示该样品的比表面积达到了162.5131 m/g。LDH对CR的去除率高于96%,且可通过煅烧成功再生。棒状LDH在循环6次后对CR去除效率可以达到87%。(2)为了研究吸附剂形状对材料吸附能力的影响,本研究制备了花瓣状的Fe-Mg LDH材料。SEM和TEM表征结果证实了样品呈花瓣状。本研究分别考察了材料对CR和MO的吸附性能,结果显示与MO相比,花状LDH对CR的吸附效率更高。对吸附过程的热力学及动力学过程进行了探究,同时考察了p H和染料初始浓度对样品吸附容量的影响。(3)为了改善样品对染料的吸附性能,本研究制备了大孔径的Ni-Co-LDH吸附剂,并详细探究了该材料对CR的吸附性能。SEM和TEM测试对其进行了形貌表征证实了材料拥有较大孔径。动力学研究表明吸附过程遵循二阶动力学模型,热力学结果显示吸附过程更加符合Langmuir模型,以上结果表明改吸附过程本质上是化学吸附和吸热过程,由Langmuir模型计算出的Ni-Co-LDH的最大吸附容量可达1158 mg/g。

Since the onset of conflict in Syria in 2011,several heritage sites have suffered partial or complete *** ancient city of Palmyra,a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980,was placed on the List of World Heritage in Danger in 2013,alongside five other Syrian heritage *** 2015 and 2017,Palmyra experienced the loss of nearly 40%of its historic buildings and *** site’s remote location and ongoing armed conflict pose additional challenges in accessing and preserving *** paper introduces an interactive online platform employing 360°media to document and disseminate information about the world heritage site of *** platform contributes to the safeguarding process of Palmyra,facilitating public engagement and interaction with the *** also has potential applications for other sites in Syria and *** platform allows users to explore both archival and current information of damaged historical monuments and buildings,revealing their layered histories before and after *** interactive 360°media,similar to applications like Google Street View,the platform offers a reality-based digital *** can virtually move into different buildings or follow specific pathways within the site,accessing archival information and documentation about particular monuments and buildings along their *** project serves as a unique informational resource for decision-makers and policy planners,aiding in the understanding of the site and the development of relevant strategies and *** also proves beneficial as an educational *** collective understanding fostered by this platform is expected to positively influence post-conflict restoration and reconstruction plans,making it an invaluable asset for research and educational purposes.
