Future changes in rainfall, temperature and reference evapotranspiration in the central India by least square support vector machine

Climate change affects the environment and natural resources immensely. Rainfall, temperature and evapotranspiration are major parameters of climate affecting changes in the environment. Evapotrans- piration plays a key role in crop production and water balance of a region, one of the major parameters affected by climate change. The reference evapotranspiration or ETo is a calculated parameter used in this research. In the present study, changes in the future rainfall, minimum and maximum temperature, and ETo have been shown by downscaling the HadCM3 （Hadley Centre Coupled Model version 3） model data. The selected study area is located in a part of the Narmada river basin area in Madhya Pradesh in central India. The downscaled outputs of projected rainfall, ETo and temperatures have been shown for the 21st century with the HADCM3 data of A2 scenario by the Least Square Support Vector Machine （LS-SVM） model. The efficiency of the LS-SVM model was measured by different statistical methods. The selected predictors show considerable correlation with the rainfall and temperature and the application of this model has been done in a basin area which is an agriculture based region and is sensitive to the change of rainfall and temperature. Results showed an increase in the future rainfall, temperatures and ETo. The temperature increase is projected in the high rise of minimum temperature in winter time and the highest increase in maximum temperature is projected in the pre-monsoon season or from March to May. Highest increase is projected in the 2080s in 2081-2091 and 2091-2099 in maximum temperature and 2091-2099 in minimum temperature in all the stations. Winter maximum temperature has been observed to have increased in the future. High rainfall is also observed with higher ETo in some decades. Evaluation of young men with organic erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction （ED） in men under the age of 40 was once thought to be entirely psychogenic. Over the last few decades, advances in our understanding of erectile physiology and improvements in diagnostic testing have restructured our understanding of ED and its etiologies. Although psychogenic ED is more prevalent in the younger population, at least 15%-20% of these men have an organic etiology. Organic ED has been shown to be a predictor of increased future morbidity and mortality. As such, a thorough work-up should be employed for any man with complaints of sexual dysfunction. Oftentimes a treatment plan can be formulated after a focused history, physical exam and basic lab-work are conducted. However, in certain complex cases, more testing can be employed. The major organic etiologies can be subdivided into vascular, neurologic, and endocrine. Specific testing should be directed by clinical clues noted during the preliminary evaluation. These tests vary in degree of invasiveness, precision, and at times may not affect treatment. Results should be integrated into the overall clinical picture to assist in diagnosis and help guide therapy.

Natural Ventilation Design:Predicted and Measured Performance of a Hostel Building in Composite Climate of India

Natural ventilation is recognized for improving the thermal comfort of the built environment and indoor air *** provides comfortable conditions for building occupants and reduces energy consumption for ***,it is important to study and explore effective means of ventilation to improve the building *** study investigates the thermal comfort of a naturally ventilated hostel operational building in the composite climate of Jaipur,India using Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)simulation tool‘Cradle scSTREAM’.A 3D building model has been developed to analyze the thermal comfort for different natural ventilation strategies with advanced mesh algorithms which generate fewer mesh elements and maintain good mesh quality.A field study was carried out to collect the actual data and to validate the model which was further used to evaluate the thermal comfort range based on the ASHRAE-55 *** design strategies have been applied to enhance thermal *** was found that an increase in air velocity up to 0.5 m/s was achieved by Cross Ventilation while a drop of 2.0-2.5℃in the air temperature was found using Night *** can be stated that cross ventilation increases the air movement while night ventilation gives comparatively higher comfort regarding air temperature and relative humidity.

India is very rich in solar energy,with a total of 3000 sunshine hours annually in most *** installation of on-grid rooftop electricity-generation photovoltaic(PV)systems is currently undergoing substantial growth and extension as an alternate source of energy that contributes to Indian *** paper analyses the viability of mounting solar PV plants in distinct cities of India in various locations with different climate conditions such as Delhi,Bhopal,Udaipur,Ahmadabad,Thiruvananthapuram,Pune and *** technical feasibility of installing a 100-kWp system is evaluated using PVsyst software under local climatic *** performance ratio is between 70%and 80%,with a capacity utilization factor of 19-21%and estimated energy output of 170 MWh annually at all *** system produces 400-500 kWh of energy daily at a per-unit cost of INR 6-7(Indian rupees)in all *** lifespan of the system is~25-30 years,reducing about 150-170 tons of carbon-dioxide emission to the atmosphere every *** payback period of the system is~5-6 years,which defines its *** information would encourage organizations and individuals to install such PV plants on the rooftops of buildings to use solar electricity for meeting the energy demands of the country.

Thermal Comfort Analysis of Personalized Conditioning System and Performance Assessment with Different Radiant Cooling Systems

The radiant systems consume less energy and provide better thermal comfort as compared to the conventional system,but the main drawback of radiant technology is inability to cater the latent load and *** problem has engaged researchers to push their emphasis on Personalized Conditioning System(PCS).It forms a micro-climate region near the *** study is aimed at PCS combined with a radiant conditioning system,which evaluates the performance of the PCS and compares it with different radiant cooling systems.A radiant cubicle was used to investigate the performance of the PCS for both heating&cooling *** heating mode,the Standard Effective Temperature(SET)was calculated with the help of thermal comfort surveys which were in a range of 23.4℃ to 27.3℃.For cooling mode,four different cases compared the performance of the system which are:Conventional Air Conditioning System(CACS),Radiant Cooled Ceiling System(RCCS),Personalized Radiant Conditioning System(PRCS),and both PRCS-RCCS *** was observed that PRCS alone reaches the thermal comfort criteria with low energy *** energy-saving of RCCS-PRCS was achieved 38%when compared with *** can be concluded that PRCS is a new step in the field of thermal comfort.

Change in rainfall erosivity in the past and future due to climate change in the central part of India

Temporal change in rainfall erosivity varies due to the rainfall characteristic(amount,intensity,frequency,duration),which affects the conservation of soil and *** study illustrates the variation of rainfall erosivity due to changing rainfall in the past and the *** projected rainfall is generated by SDSM(Statistical DownScaling Model)after calibration and validation using two GCMs(general circulation model)data of HadCM3(A2 and B2 scenario)and CGCM3(A1B and A2 scenario).The selected study area is mainly a cultivable area with an agricultural based *** economy depends on rainfall and is located in a part of the Narmada river basin in central *** rainfall locations are selected that are distributed throughout the study area and *** results indicate gradually increasing projected rainfall while the past rainfall has shown a declined pattern by Mann–Kendall test with statistical 95%confidence *** erosivity has increased due to the projected increase in the future rainfall(2080 s)in comparison to the *** erosivity varies from32.91%to 24.12%in the 2020s,18.82 to 75.48%in 2050 s and 20.95–202.40%in *** outputs of this paper can be helpful for the decision makers to manage the soil water conservation in this study area.

Characterization of Bi2/3Cu3Ti4O12 ceramics synthesized by semi-wet route

Bi2/3Cu3Ti4O12（BCTO） ceramic was synthesized by the semi-wet route using metal nitrate solutions and solid TiO2powder in a stoichiometric ratio. Fourier transform infrared（FTIR） study of BCTO precursor powder and calcined ceramic showed the presence of alcoholic functional groups and the stretching band of Ti-O and Cu-O respectively. X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron microscope（SEM） and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy（EDX） were employed to characterize the structure, surface morphology and purity of the sintered BCTO ceramic respectively. X-ray diffraction study confirmed the single phase formation of BCTO ceramic at1073 K. The average dimension of grains calculated by SEM and AFM was found to be in the range of 0.73 ±0.2 μm with clear grain boundaries. Magnetic property was investigated over a wide temperature range 2–300 K at a magnetic field of 7 tesla. The Curie temperature was calculated by zero field cooled(MZFC) and field cooled(MFC) magnetization at 100 Oe applied field which was found to be 125 K. The sintered BCTO ceramic shows high dielectric constant（ε'=2.9×10～4） at 323 K and 100 Hz.

Uncertainty of soil erosion modelling using open source high resolution and aggregated DEMs

Digital Elevation Model （DEM） is one of the important parameters for soil erosion assessment. Notable uncertainties are observed in this study while using three high resolution open source DEMs. The Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation （RUSLE） model has been applied to analysis the assessment of soil erosion uncertainty using open source DEMs （SRTM, ASTER and CARTOSAT） and their increasing grid space （pixel size） from the actual. The study area is a part of the Narmada river basin in Madhya Pradesh state, which is located in the central part of India and the area covered 20,558 km2. The actual resolution of DEMs is 30 m and their increasing grid spaces are taken as 90, 150, 210, 270 and 330 m for this study. Vertical accuracy of DEMs has been assessed using actual heights of the sample points that have been taken considering planimetric survey based map （toposheet）. Elevations of DEMs are converted to the same vertical datum from WGS 84 to MSL （Mean Sea Level）, before the accuracy assessment and modelling. Results indicate that the accuracy of the SRTM DEM with the RMSE of 13.31, 14.51, and 18.19 m in 30, 150 and 330 m resolution respectively, is better than the ASTER and the CARTOSAT DEMs. When the grid space of the DEMs increases, the accuracy of the elevation and calculated soil erosion decreases. This study presents a potential uncertainty introduced by open source high resolution DEMs in the accuracy of the soil erosion assessment models. The research provides an analysis of errors in selecting DEMs using the original and increased grid space for soil erosion modelling.
