Renal cell carcinoma represents the 16th cause of death by cancer. It is one of the most frequent kidney tumors. This tumor could behave as a good mimicker, and is frequently associated with paraneoplastic syndromes. metastases to peritoneum, mesentery or omentum are very rare. Sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma is a high-grade undifferentiated component that can be found in any subtypes of renal cell carcinoma, and is associated with an aggressive behavior and a poor prognosis. We present the case of a 59-year-old male, diabetic patient, with nephron preserved left nephrectomy through lumbotomy seven years ago, upper pole renal carcinoma, admitted to the emergency department with indeterminate shock. He underwent a diagnostic laparoscopy and then open surgery due to findings where a greater omentum subtotal infarction. Omentum microscopic examination resulted in vaguely differentiated neoplasia, with sarcomatoid like cells, highly positive to CD10 inmunolabeling. Even though renal cell carcinomas have unusual clinical presentations, this case is unique because of the convergence of extremely rare manifestations such as the combination of malignant ascites, peritoneal carcinomatosis, and contralateral suprarenal gland metachronous metastases at the major omentum with paraneoplastic syndrome type leukemoid reaction;which have not been reported previously in literature.

The physicochemical properties and catalytic activity of pure and sulfated titanium oxide (TiO2 and ) is described in this work. Titanium hydroxide synthesized by the sol-gel method was impregnated with a 1 N H2SO4 solution, varying amount of sulfate ions () in the range from 10 to 20 wt%. Pure and modified hydroxides were calcined at 500°C for 3 h and then characterized by TGA-DTG, XRD, BET, FT-IR, potentiometric titration with n-butylamine and 2-propanol dehydration. Catalytic activity of materials was tested in the n-hexane isomerization at 350°C. The results showed that TiO2 and mainly developed anatase phase. All have acceptable specific surface area (95-105 m2/g). Potentiometric titration with n-butylamine revealed that showed higher acidity (430-530 mV) than compared to pure TiO2 (﹣15 mV), indicating that this oxide only has weak acidity. The results showed good relationship between acidity determined by potentiometric titration with n-butylamine and the catalytic activity evaluated by 2-propanol dehydration and n-hexane isomerization. Titanium oxide with 20 wt% ofions was the material that demonstrated the highest catalytic activity for both reactions.

Objective:To examine the immune responses of Litopenaeus vannamei after different treatments with a hot water extract of macrocystis pyrifera(***)and a subsequent challenge with Vibrio campbellii(***).methods:A total of 184 adult white shrimp that were infected with ***(1×10^(6) CFU/shrimp)were immunostimulate by the hot-water extract from *** via either injection(10μg)or immersion(350 mg/L),the experimental controls were injected with either saline solution or ***(1×10^(6) CFU/shrimp).The bacterial DNA depuration rate,antimicrobial activity and total hemocyte count were evaluated in hemolymph samples at 2,6,12,24,48 and 72 h ***:Injected shrimp(10μg *** extract)demonstrated the best clearance of bacterial infection,with 82%survival at 72 h post-infection(cellular response).Hemolymph from the immersed organisms had the best antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli growth;specifically,the most efficient antimicrobial activity was observed at 24 h *** types of immunostimulated shrimp had similar total hemocyte counts at 24 h post-infection(1.63-1.59 million/mL);however,after 72 h,injected shrimp had higher total hemocyte counts than immersed animals(2.59 v.s.0.56 million/mL).Conclusions:The injection of the *** hot-water extract facilitated a more efficient response to *** infection due to the stimulation of the hemocytes of the *** other words,the cellular immune response was more efficient to eliminate bacterial infection than the humoral response in shrimp.

Background: The hand is an essential component for performing our daily tasks;as a result, injuries to the fingertip are frequently seen. Accurate evaluation and treatment of fingertip injuries are essential to avoiding long-term disability, job loss and psychological issues. No matter the injury classification system, maintaining finger length, regaining sensation, and improving appearance are the three main objectives of treatment. The objective of this research was to outline the epidemiology of fingertip injuries treated between 2021 and 2022 at a highly specialized referral hospital in mexico City. methodology: This investigation is cross-sectional, retrospective, and observational. From January 2021 to December 2022, 60 patients with a diagnosis of fingertip injury from the South Central Hospital “Pemex” were included. The descriptive statistical analysis was performed using SPSS29. Results: 60 patients were included, 27 (45%) were women and 33 (55%) were men. Allen’s classification was able to classify only 19 patients, of which 18 (94.7%) had a type 1 classification and one (5.26%) had a type 2 classification. 10% of patients experienced complications, which included 2 patients with surgical site infections (3.3%), 3 patients with persistent pain (5%), and 1 patient (1.6%) with graft rejection. Conclusions: There are currently insufficient epidemiological data on hand and wrist injuries and its effects on labor in mexico. Fingertip injuries require particular care in order to prevent complications and long-term damage. The creation of national registries could help with the creation of reference manuals for the care of hand and wrist injuries in our nation.

In this work, the synthesis of semiconducting molecular materials formed from metallo-phthalocyanines (mPcs) and bidentate amines is reported. Powder and thin-film samples of the synthesized materials, deposited by vacuum thermal evaporation, show the same intra-molecular bonds in IR-spectroscopy studies. The morphology of the deposited films was studied using scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. The optical parameters have been investigated using spectrophotometric measurements of transmittance in the wavelength range 200 - 1100 nm. The absorption spectra in the UV-Vis region for the deposited samples showed two bands, namely the Q and Soret bands. The optical band gap values of the thin films were calculated from the absorption coefficient α in the absorption region and were found to be around 1.4 - 1.6 eV. The dependence of the Tauc and Cody optical gaps on the thickness of the film was also determined.

Introduction: mild and moderate Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) against Rotavirus has not received much attention when the vaccine is administered regardless of recommended age restriction. Objectives: To describe the behavior of mild and moderate AEFI in immunized subjects against Rotavirus, in who age restriction period had not been considered. methods: A case-control study in which we included immunized patients with monovalent oral vaccine against rotavirus and divided them into two groups: 1) Infants who received RV1 vaccine without considering the recommended period, and 2) Infants who were vaccinated with the recommended schedule. Results: From the total doses, 143/1894 (7.5%) were administered outside the restriction period. The most frequent AEFIs with the first dose were purpura, polypnea, and rhinorrhea;For the second dose: purpura, bloody stools, irritability and rhinorrhea. Conclusions: This study shows the benefits from vaccination regardless of age restriction are more beneficial compared to the possible risks of AEFI.

Right iliac fossa pain remains a challenge for clinicians, since it requires considering several differential diagnoses. Acute appendicitis continues to be one of the most important diagnoses to confirm or to rule out in acute abdominal pain, due to the associated morbidity and mortality. Currently, imaging studies contribute to increase diagnostic certainty, but sometimes reveal unexpected findings, which may further complicate the diagnosis and therapeutic decisions. We present the case of an unusual image finding in the right iliac fossa, a calcification suggestive of gallstone ileus, in the context of an acute abdomen with an unusual transoperative finding, whose definitive diagnosis by pathology, was also rare.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CovV-2)infection is associated with a hyperinflammatory state and lymphocytopenia,a hallmark that appears as both signature and prognosis of disease severity *** cytokine storm and a sustained inflammatory state are commonly associated with immune cell depletion,it is still unclear whether direct SARS-Cov-2 infection of immune cells could also play a role in this scenario by harboring viral *** found that monocytes,as well as both B and T lymphocytes,were susceptible to SARS-Cov-2 infection in vitro,accumulating double-stranded RNA consistent with viral RNA replication and ultimately leading to expressive T cell *** addition,flow cytometry and immunofluorescence analysis revealed that SARS-Cov-2 was frequently detected in monocytes and B lymphocytes from coronavirus disease 2019(CoVID-19)*** rates of SARS-Cov-2-infected monocytes in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from CoVID-19 patients increased over time from symptom onset,with SARS-CoV-2-positive monocytes,B cells,and CD4+T lymphocytes also detected in postmortem lung *** results indicated that SARS-CoV-2 infection of blood-circulating leukocytes in covID-19 patients might have important implications for disease pathogenesis and progression,immune dysfunction,and virus spread within the host.

management of mSW(municipal Solid Waste)is a major downside in most of the biggest *** composting of the organic fraction of mSW is one of the oldest and simplest ways of organic waste *** is a self-heating biological conversion that generates appropriate finished merchandise such as soil conditioner or *** City generates about 12,500 ton/day of mSW,44%of it is food scraps and yard trimmings which are the OFmSW(Organic Fraction of municipal Solid Waste),2,500 ton/day of it is composted at the BPCP(Bordo Poniente Composting Plant)yielding 500 ton/day of *** purpose of this study was to evaluate three treatments to accelerate the composting process,so eventually the city could increase the amount of the OFmSW at *** compared three different treatments;one of them showed a significant reduction in time of the composting process(p≤0.05)i.e.,it took less time to reach the thermophilic stage,maturity and stabilization *** was achieved at 35 days and 60 days to *** conclude that shredding the feedstock plus leachate inoculum addition at the beginning of the process,reduces the composting time in about 61%with respect to the time it takes at the BPCP,where lasted 90 days.
