Wastewater-based epidemiology(WBE)may be successfully used to comprehensively monitor and determine the scale and dynamics of some infections in the *** monitored severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)RNA in raw wastewater samples from Porto Alegre,Southern *** samples were collected and analyzed every week between May 2020 to May ***,different social restrictions were applied according to the number of hospitalized patients in the *** samples were obtained from two wastewater treatment plants(WWTP),named Navegantes and *** determine the SARS-CoV-2 RNA titers in wastewater,we performed RT-qPCR analysis targeting the N gene(N1).The highest titer of SARS-CoV-2 RNA was observed between epidemiological weeks(EWs)33-37(August),42-43(October),45-46(November),49-51(december)in 2020,and 1-3(January),7-13(February to March)in 2021,with viral loads ranging from 1-106-3-106 genomic copies/*** increase in positive confirmed cases followed such high viral *** on the sampling method used,positive cases increased in 6-7 days and 15 days after the rise of viral RNA titers in wastewater,with composite sampling methods showing a lower time lag and a higher resolution on the *** results showed a direct relation between strict social restrictions and the loads of detected RNA reduction in wastewater,corroborating the number of confirmed *** in viral loads between different sampling points and methods were observed,as composite samples showed more stable results during the analyzed ***,viral loads obtained from samples collected at Serraria WWTP were consistently higher than the ones obtained at Navegantes WWTP,indicating differences in local dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 spread in different regions of Porto *** conclusion,wastewater sampling to monitor SARS-CoV-2 is a robust tool to evaluate the viral loads contributing to hospitalized patients’data and confirmed ***

Dyslipidemia may influence enzymes and transfer proteins needed to the lipoprotein particle remodeling. Calculated indices and evaluation of lipoprotein particle size have widely been used to predict cardiovascular risk. The aim of this study was to evaluate HDL particle size and LDL particle size estimate based on TG/HDL-C as well as apoB/apoA-I ratio as possible marker and atherogenic indices, respectively, of cardiovascular disease risk in the presence of dyslipidemia. We evaluated 100 individuals of both gender, without treatment with lipid-lowering drugs, 27 normolipidemic and 73 dyslipidemic, such as isolated hypercholesterolemia (n = 16), isolated hypertriglyceridemia (n = 17), low HDL-C (n = 26) and mixed dyslipidemia (n = 14). The HDL particle size did not differ between groups. The TG/HDL-C ratio was higher in groups with isolated hypertriglyceridemia (4.2 ± 1.5), low HDL-C (5.2 ± 3.1) and mixed dyslipidemia (5.3 ± 1.6). The apoB/apoA-I ratio was increased in all groups of dyslipidemia (apoB/apoA-I > 0.5) when compared to normolipidemic (apoB/apoA-I = 0.5, p deling markers and the use of calculated indices may contribute to the evaluation of cardiovascular disease risk when dyslipidemia take place.

Background: Cystinosis is a multisystemic autosomal recessive deficiency of the lysosomal membrane transporter protein (cystinosin) caused by mutations in CTNS gene. Objective: This study summarizes the Portuguese experience in the diagnosis and management of patients with this rare disease over the past few years and reports recurrent mutations in the CTNS gene. Methods: Unrelated patients from different pediatric and adult hospitals all over Portugal with non-nephrotic proteinuria, hypercalciuria, hypokalemia impaired proximal reabsorption of amino acids, glycosuria and hypophosphatemia, suggestive of a Fanconi syndrome and ocular problems, were studied. Intra-leukocyte cystine levels were determined and molecular analysis was performed, to determine the presence or absence of the 57-kb deletion in CTNS, followed by direct sequencing of the coding exons of CTNS. Results: From 1998 to 2017, twenty-one cystinotic patients were biochemically diagnosed. From the remaining seventeen (four deceased), eleven were studied for CTNS gene. Five out of eleven patients were homozygous for the 57-kb deletion (10/22;45.5%), and other five were compound heterozygous for this variant (15/22;68.2%). The other mutations found were p.Q128X (c.721 C>T;2/22), p.S139F (c.755 C>T;4/22) and c.18-21delGACT (p.T7FfsX7;1/22). All of these seventeen cystinotic patients are in treatment. Approximately 84% are adults, 16% are young children, and 54.5% are kidney transplant recipient. Conclusions: The authors would like to emphasize the importance of first screening for the 57-kb deletion since it is very common in our population. This genetic study is the first in our country and it could be the basis for future genetic counseling in Portuguese population.

奥胡斯住宅综合体位于奥胡斯市新城开发区人工岛Ø4端点——海湾港口交汇处。这里也是城市与自然的融合点,享有得天独厚的双重景观。BIG建筑设计事务所提议,整合奥胡斯市现有的最主要的城市建筑类型,创造一座兼具庭院、排屋和塔楼等特点的建筑。奥胡斯住宅综合体的每个顶点的高度都不相同:屋顶景观呈阶梯状,为各层户外活动创造宽敞的私人露台空间,形成向室外延伸且连续的阳台,环绕整座建筑。庭院内的小阳台则局部截断该连续阳台,为所有住宅单元提供充足的室外空间。庭院则是奥胡斯住宅综合体的绿化核心区域,为所有住户提供一处共享花园。住户可以在此种植蔬菜和果树,还可以举办社区户外聚餐。
