Fluted pumpkin(FP;Telfairia occidentalis)is an edible vegetable,grown in West Africa,that is used in traditional medicine for its regulatory effects on the male *** articles concerning the effects of FP were identified by searching PubMed,PubChem,Scopus,Springer,ResearchGate,Google Scholar and Web of Science;this literature was to better understand the effects of FP seed(FPS)and leaf(FPl)extracts on the *** showed that in experimental animals extracts of FPl and FPS at 1/100 of the lethal dose promoted testis regeneration and improved testosterone concentration and sperm quality,while at higher doses they had antifertility *** extracts of FPS and FPl,including ethanol,aqueous,methanol and hydroethanolic,had protective effects on the testes of study animals at lower doses(>50 mg/kg body weight),but at higher doses(>200 mg/kg body weight)they inhibited hormone synthesis,sperm quality and histomorphological structure,under both normal and disease *** posttreatment effects of FPS on the gonads were reversible in young mature rats and FPS had slight systemic toxic ***,there are inconsistencies in some of the published results,the current evidence suggests that FPS and FPl have both profertility and reversible antifertility effects in experimental animals.

Effects of antimicrobial peptides(AMP)added to diets on aquatic animal health and body function are influenced by multiple factors such as animal species,initial body weight,the dosage of AMP and feeding ***,there is limited knowledge on the relationship between these factors and the body function of aquatic ***,we aimed to perform multiple meta-analyses to investigate the effects of dietary AMP on growth performance(feed conversion ratio[FCR],specific growth rate[SGR]),enzyme activity(superoxide dismutase activity[SOD],lysozyme activity[lSA]),disease resistance(cumulative survival rate[CSR],the expression of immune-related genes[GENE])and the abundance of gut microbiota(MICRO)from a pool of empirical ***,the dose-effect model was applied to determine the optimal AMP dose,initial body weight and feeding duration to maximize body *** conduct the meta-analyses,we included 34 publications that estimated 705 effect sizes across 21 fish,2 shrimp and 2 shellfish *** results confirmed that the inclusion of AMP in the diet can significantly improve SGR,SOD,lSA,CSR and GENE and decrease FCR for aquatic ***,our findings implied a slight positive effect of AMP on MICRO albeit with a limited number of studies available on fish gut microbial *** no significant linear or quadratic relationship was predicted by meta-regression,the dose-effect indicated that the optimal AMP doses for FCR,SGR,SOD and lSA were 707.5,750.0,1,050.0 and 937.5 mg/kg,*** together,fish with an initial body weight of 30 g could be fed with a dose of 600 to 800 mg/kg for 2 mo when AMP-supplemented diets were applied in aquaculture,which can effectively improve body function and health while lowering aquafeed *** addition,more studies should address fish gut microbiota to delimitate the influence of dietary AMP on MICRO in the future.

The study of the confluences of the roots of a given set of polynomials—root-pattern problem— does not appear to have been considered. We examine the situation, which leads us on to Young tableaux and tableaux representations. This in turn is found to be an aspect of multipartite partitions. We discover, and show, that partitions can be expressed algebraically and can be “differentiated” and “integrated”. We show a complete set of bipartite and tripartite partitions, indicating equivalences for the root-pattern problem, for select pairs and triples. Tables enumerating the number of bipartite and tripartite partitions, for small pairs and triples are given in an appendix.

Exogenous enzymes as alternatives to feed antibiotics in poultry has become an emerging research area with the emergence of antibiotic *** objective was to evaluate the effects of diet medication(antibiotics)andβ-glucanase(BGase)on digesta solubleβ-glucan depolymerization,carbohydrate fermentation,and performance of coccidiosis-vaccinated broiler chickens fed wheat-based diets.A total of 1,782 broilers were raised on litter floor pens,and each treatment was assigned to 1 pen in each of the9 *** 3 dietary treatments were based on wheat as the sole grain(control,control+medication and control+0.1%BGase),and the birds were fed the respective treatments ad libitum from 0 to 33 *** were arranged in a randomized complete block design and analyzed as a one-way ***-glucanase reduced the peak molecular weight,weight average molecular weight(Mw)and maximum molecular weight for the smallest 10%β-glucan molecules(MW-10%)in ileal digesta at d 11and 33,whereas diet medication reduced Mw and MW-10%at d 33 compared to the control(Plucanase and medication reduced the ileal viscosity at d 11 compared to the control(P=0.010).Ileal propionic acid concentration at d 11 and caecal total SCFA,acetic,and butyric acid concentrations at d 33 were lower in the BGase-supplemented diet than in the control(Pl p H compared to the control at d 33(P=0.026).The effect of medication on carbohydrate fermentation was *** medication increased weight gain after d 11,whereas BGase increased the gain for the total trial period compared to the control(Pl(Plarger than BGase,considering weight gain and feed efficiency after d 11(Plusion,diet medication and BGase depolymerized high molecular weight ileal solubleβ-g
