I Just Trust Him: The Notion of Consideration as a Barrier to Condom Use amongst Women Who Inject Drugs in Central Java

The HIV epidemic in Indonesia has risen sharply since 2004, from 2682 cases in 2004 to 19,973 in 2009. The main transmission route of HIV in Indonesia is injecting drug use. There is little research on women who inject drugs in Indonesia. In-depth interviews were carried out with 19 women who injected drugs in three small cities in central Java. The interviews explored the living conditions of the women and the context of HIV risk. The transcripts were coded and the data were thematically analyzed. In this paper we report on condom use with regular partners. Condom use was very low with their regular partners, even though both they and their partners were injecting drug users. The reasons women gave were that they trusted their partners (although they realised this trust was shaky). The women used traditional Javanese cultural concepts of consideration to explain why they did not use condoms. This was heightened by other cultural norms of women’s place in Javanese society. Although the women in the study were marginalized because of their drug use, they still hold to many Indonesian cultural precepts—of consideration and care for the other above oneself in their relationships with their regular partners which impede condom use. While notions of consideration and harmony were used to explain non-condom use, the same notions could also be used in couple-counseling to assist.

Deep learning models for automatic identification of plant-parasitic nematode

Plant-parasitic nematodes cause various diseases that can be fatal to the infected *** causes losses to the agricultural industry,such as crop failure and poor crop *** an accurate nematode classification system is vital for pest identification and *** learning classification techniques can help speed up Nematode identification as it can perform tasks directly from *** the present study,four state-of-the-art deep learning models(ResNet101v2,CoAtNet-0,Effi-cientNetV2B0,and EfficientNetV2M)were evaluated in plantparasitic nematode classification from microscopic *** models were trained using a combination of three different optimizers(Adam,SGD,dan RMSProp)and several data augmentation with image transformations,such as image flip,blurring,noise addition,brightness,and contrast *** performance of the trained models was *** test accuracy,EfficientNetV2B0 and EfficientNetV2M using RMSProp and brightness augmentation give the best result of 97.94%However,the overall performance of EfficientNetV2M was superior,with 98.66%mean class accuracy,97.99%F1 score,98.26%average precision,and 97.94%average recall.

Air Quality Predictions in Urban Areas Using Hybrid ARIMA and Metaheuristic LSTM

Due to the development of transportation, population growth and industrial activities, air quality has become a major issue in urban areas. Poor air qualityleads to rising health issues in the human’s life in many ways especially respiratory infections, heart disease, asthma, stroke and lung cancer. The contaminatedair comprises harmful ingredients such as sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide(NO2), and particulate matter of PM10, PM2.5, and an Air Quality Index (AQI).These pollutant ingredients are very harmful to human’s health and also leads todeath. So, it is necessary to develop a prediction model for air quality as regularon the basis of monthly or seasonaly. In this work, a new hybrid model for airquality prediction (AQP) is developed by using reed deer metaheuristic optimizedLong Short Term Memory (LSTM) Deep Learning network. To overcome thedrawback of the existing autoregressive integrated moving average model(ARIMA) model, the residual errors are processed by using an optimized LSTMnetwork. The red deer optimization (RDO) is a new type of metaheuristic methodwhich is motivated by the mating behaviour of Red Deer. The proposed model isbetter in terms of all prediction performance parameters when compared withother models.

Investigation of Android Malware Using Deep Learning Approach

In recent days the usage of android smartphones has increased exten-sively by *** are several applications in different categories bank-ing/ﬁnance,social engineering,education,sports andﬁtness,and many more *** android stack is more vulnerable compared to other mobile plat-forms like IOS,Windows,or Blackberry because of the open-source *** the Existing system,malware is written using vulnerable system calls to bypass signature detection important drawback is might not work with zero-day exploits and stealth *** attackers target the victim with various attacks like adware,backdoor,spyware,ransomware,and zero-day exploits and create threat hunts on the day-to-day *** the existing approach,there are various tradi-tional machine learning classiﬁers for building a decision support system with limitations such as low detection rate and less feature *** important contents taken for building model from android applications like Intent Filter,Per-mission Signature,API Calls,and System commands are taken from the manifestﬁ*** function parameters of various machine and deep learning classiﬁers like Nave Bayes,k-Nearest Neighbors(k-NN),Support Vector Machine(SVM),Ada Boost,and Multi-Layer Perceptron(MLP)are done for effective *** our pro-posed work,we have used an unsupervised learning multilayer perceptron with multiple target labels and built a model with a better accuracy rate compared to logistic regression,and rank the best features for detection of applications and clas-sify as malicious or benign can be used as threat model by online antivirus scanners.

Optimal Feature Extraction Using Greedy Approach for Random Image Components and Subspace Approach in Face Recognition

An innovative and uniform framework based on a combination of Gabor wavelets with principal component analysis （PCA） and multiple discriminant analysis （MDA） is presented in this paper. In this framework, features are extracted from the optimal random image components using greedy approach. These feature vectors are then projected to subspaces for dimensionality reduction which is used for solving linear problems. The design of Gabor filters, PCA and MDA are crucial processes used for facial feature extraction. The FERET, ORL and YALE face databases are used to generate the results. Experiments show that optimal random image component selection （ORICS） plus MDA outperforms ORICS and subspace projection approach such as ORICS plus PCA. Our method achieves 96.25%, 99.44% and 100% recognition accuracy on the FERET, ORL and YALE databases for 30% training respectively. This is a considerably improved performance compared with other standard methodologies described in the literature.

A stable mode-locked laser was demonstrated using a newly developed zinc phthalocyanine(ZnPc)thin film as passive saturable absorber(SA)in ytterbium-doped fiber laser(YDFL).The ZnPc thin film was obtained using a casting method and then inserted between the two fiber ferrules of a YDFL ring cavity to generate mode-locked *** resulting pulsed laser operated at a wavelength of 1034.5 nm having a repetition rate of 3.3 *** pump power of 277 mW,the maximum output power and pulse energy are achieved at 4.92 mW and 1.36 nJ,*** has a high chemical and photochemical stability,and its significance for use as a potential SA in a mode-locked laser is reported in this work.

A study of aqueous humour proteins in patients of primary open angle glaucoma

Aims: To investigate the changes in the protein composition of aqueous humour in primary open angle glaucoma patients and non-glaucomatous subjects. Patients and Methods: Case control study was conducted at a university hospital to compare the protein profile of aqueous humour obtained from patients of primary open angle glaucoma with those of non glaucomatous subjects. Protein concentration of the aqueous humour samples collected from both glaucomatous and non-glaucomatous patients at the time of surgery was estimated by the Bradford protein assay method. Sodium dodecylsulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of the samples was also performed. Results: Geometric mean of protein concentration of the samples was 55.73 mg/dl (range: 31-72) in the test group and 46.46 mg/dl (range: 27-65) in the control group and a statistically significant (p ≤= 0.001) difference in protein concentration of aqueous humour between the two groups was observed. Electrophoretic study revealed differences in the aqueous protein composition of the two groups. The glaucomatous group exhibited protein bands of 10 kDa, 20 kDa, 30 kDa, 50 kDa, 60 kDa, 70 kDa, and 90 kDa while the control subjects demonstrated bands of 6 kDa, 10 kDa, 30 kDa, 70 kDa, 90 kDa. Interestingly, almost all the proteins detected in this study corresponded to the molecular weights of heat shock proteins. Conclusions: Primary open angle glaucoma patients differed in protein compositions and had higher concentration of aqueous humour proteins than non glaucomatous patients.

Background and Objective: Syzygium aromaticum is an immunomodulator with the main active compound eugenol which can stimulate the function of lymphocyte proliferation and macrophage production. Lymphocytes play an important role for body protection against infection. This study aims to analyze the effect of S. aromaticum extract to increase proliferation of lymphocytes, lymphoblasts and macrophage production in Balb/c mice infected with Salmonella typhimurium. Methodology: Mice strain Balb/c were divided into 4 groups: treatment group infected with S. typhimurium and control group (without treatment) to tested the activity of peritoneal macrophages. The treatment group was administrated by S. aromaticum leaf extract (15 mg, 75 mg, 150 mg/kgbw) for 12 days. Results: S. aromaticum leaf extract increased the proliferation activity (p Conclusion: Administration of S. aromaticum leaf extract increased the proliferation activity of lymphocytes, lymphoblasts and ROI secretion of macrophagesin Balb/c mice infected with S. typhimurium.
